Honest Sentinel One insight after 6 months

Pros

Its AIpowered automatic endpoint protection offers great detection and response features. It reduces the manual workload for the security team.

Cons

SentinelOne does not have an uninstaller tool. If an endpoint is not connected to the portal you cannot uninstall it. The only option left is to format the endpoint. They also do not have a good knowledge base online for managing and configuring it. The support team takes too long to solve issues.

Great Product - Sometimes too good

Pros

I appreciate the detection and response system as it focuses on malicious behavior, not just files. It has protected clients and users from actual attacks.

Cons

Sometimes it works a bit too well like when I am just clearing shadow copy data. But since such actions could be part of a malicious attack I did say its worth having to disable it now and then. Also updates occasionally fail requiring a complete reinstall which can be tricky often involving the cleaner tool and safe mode.

This is not just about marketing but real protection against the most complex threats.

Pros

The agent is not heavy, and the false-positive rate is low. The API and integrations are very helpful.

Cons

Mobile platforms have not been integrated into the XDR platform yet.

Great product - its too good sometimes but not too annoying

Pros

It monitors behavior sometimes mistaking legitimate software and commands for threats but it is easy to reverse and continue. There are plenty of options for whitelisting, and it is difficult to remove, making it hard to bypass.

Cons

Sometimes I wish I could handle VSS maintenance without turning off the agent but since viruses can target VSS, I am okay with it. I have faced some issues with duplicate agents on the management side and updates.

One of the industry leaders in EPP

Pros

We appreciate everything about S1. It is a great product with a wide range of features, including the option to add active threat hunting and managed detection and response.

Cons

It is not the cheapest product out there once you add all the features but that is the cost for solid security.

Endpoint Detection and Response that delivers what it promises.

Pros

The pricing is reasonable for the quality of the product. Detection is reliable, catching things other products might miss. Setup and customization were simple, and support has always quickly resolved any issues I had.

Cons

So far I have only had minor problems which their support team was quick to fix. Thankfully no major issues have come up and it is doing its job well.

Awsome choice in EDR

Pros

Very efficient in detecting zero day vulnerabilities with lot of customizing options. The whitelisting catalog ensures that common applications are properly set up for customers.

Cons

Like other AI and machine learning tools there are false positives sometimes which make setting the right exclusions tricky for me.

A Perfect EDR solution with Autonomous Response Capabilties

Pros

It responds to threats automatically whether the system is online or offline. Deployment and configuration are simple. The user interface is clean and provides access to detailed documentation, useful for both operations and troubleshooting. Support is quick to respond and resolves issues with just a few emails.

Cons

They need to add a few more features in vulnerability management to compete with other top vendors.

Cost per feature and overall strengths is great

Pros

The price point for the EDR capabilities made this the best choice for us. While we considered Crowdstrike several times, S1 won us over particularly when factoring in price and value. The alerts were more accurate, saving us time and it integrates well with various other cybersecurity services through its API options.

Cons

Occasionally there is a false alert or the issue with pulling the network cord on endpoints that do not seem to have a spreading virus. The biggest problem, though, was years ago when rebooting our domain controllers could crash things if the SentinelOne software had internal database corruption. Thankfully, that has not happened in over a year, and we are happy now.

SentinelOne the best Endpoint protection solution in a long time

Pros

There are so many things I love about SentinelOne. The Roll back feature is fantastic and the Storyline makes threat hunting effortless.

Cons

The only downside is that the Sentinelone mobile agent dashboard is not yet integrated into the main dashboard but that update is coming soon.

Protect your Devices with SentinelOne

Pros

It is one of the top XDR and EDR cloudbased tools on the market. Offering Core, Control and Complete licenses depending on user needs is an excellent feature. It processes incident details quickly, and the deep visibility feature is impressive.

Cons

Other tools offer similar features at a lower price. Also the user interface is a bit challenging for beginners. Lastly blacklisting can only be done at the group level.

Sentinel One - Good Value for the Money.

Pros

S1 provides nearly all the same features as its competitors but at a much better price.

Cons

Figuring out the UI is confusing and rolling out the software was a bit tough. I ended up using a third party tool to get it done.

Pros

The customer service is exceptional. The support team is knowledgeable about the software and reliable in solving problems. SentinelOne also serves as a strong antivirus solution that we use to monitor and protect our endpoints.

Ease of use at a cost

Pros

The product is very simple to set up, and in most cases, it auto-remediates, making it a set-it-and-forget-it system. But it does have some quirks.

Cons

It gives a lot of false positives and does not have a full rollback feature for Macs. The detection engine has too many false positives, which is the most frustrating part.
