Silverfort Features
Identity-First Incident Response
Silverfort helps security teams quickly respond to attacks by focusing on user identity. It shows who accessed what, when, and how, even in systems that don’t usually track this. This makes it easier to spot suspicious behavior, block it in real time, and reduce damage during a cyberattack.
Service Account Protection
Service accounts are critical for system and application automation but are often overlooked and left vulnerable. Silverfort helps identify all these accounts, monitor their activities, and prevent unauthorized access, adding robust security without disrupting your existing system operations.
Ransomware & Lateral Movement
Silverfort protects your company from ransomware attacks and the spread of those attacks across your network (lateral movement). It adds extra security checks when someone tries to access systems, stopping attackers even if they’ve stolen a password. This helps keep your sensitive data safe.
Active Directory Protection
Silverfort enhances Active Directory (AD) by monitoring all user activity, identifying risks, and blocking unusual behavior. Many businesses use AD to manage employee logins and access. Silverfort adds an extra layer of protection to keep hackers from using stolen credentials to break in.
Identity Zero Trust
Zero Trust means never trusting users or devices by default even inside your company. Silverfort helps build this approach by checking every login and access request, making sure only the right people can reach sensitive data. It works across your systems without needing to upgrade everything.

“It's a fantastic MFA solution”
Pros
This solution has been instrumental in protecting our internal environment with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), going beyond just securing interactive logins to cover PSExec, PS and more, something solutions like DUO don't offer unless installed on each workstation. The fact that we can leverage our existing Azure MFA setup without requiring users to install another app is a huge plus. The best part is that installation only needs to be done on our Domain Controller, not every workstation. It has been an excellent investment and we are excited to see how they continue to improve and develop the solution.
Cons
The dashboard and interface look fantastic but despite the good appearance, there's a lack of practical functionality behind it. Investigating threats or incidents often leads to a frustrating cycle of clicking around, trying to find any relevant information related to a specific threat or incident. While there are filtering options, it would be beneficial if the system directed you to the specific log entries when you clicked. The workflows on the interface could be more streamlined, while there's a lot of valuable information, you can't click on it to access further details or take actions like marking something as a "false positive." You have to navigate to a different page, find the account and mark it there. Also the event flagging system could be more detailed. We've had instances where users were flagged as HIGH or CRITICAL risk, but the only risk indicator was Abnormal Authentication. What does that mean and why was the risk level escalated to critical? It would be helpful to understand the reasoning so we can educate or make necessary adjustments, either with the user's behavior or through configuration changes. Finally, the PoC and implementation could have been better. We had a new team member assisting and some issues arose that turned out to be software bugs, which required an update.
