“AdvancedMD has a great billing software
Pros
AdvancedMD is one of the easiest to learn and affordable software out there. The training and customer service staff were friendly and are usually ready to help. Even in instances where something was already taught, they took care of covering the information quickly and effectively. Many small businesses that I know of use it and get the job done with ease and is a great resource for billing.
Cons
Initially, my issue with AMD was because of the reporting system, which can be a little difficult to figure out. However, once reports are run they do give the information needed to see where your money is lingering. Customer service can hopefully be better in helping about reporting issues too.

“Reliably gets the work done
Pros
This product reliably gets the work done. As it provides exactly what we need to process billing efficiently, with almost no problems and I would recommend it to any practice handling billing.
Cons
Occasionally the system lags and I have to reboot to get it back to normal. Training can also be confusing and explaining requirements often takes extra time and attention from me.

“Wide array of features and organized!
Pros
The EHR provides a wide array of features to lock down and arrange client records and it's fairly user friendly and thoughtfully organized for clinicians.
Cons
At first glance it can be kind of overwhelming with so many tabs, bubbles, views and choices. So I personally think the layout could be a bit more organised and user friendly.

“Horrendous experience
Pros
The only pro is that AdvancedMD functions properly when opened and runs without error.
Cons
They charge for every little report and once you sign with them they will not let you go.We are moving to e-clinical at this time and AMD has advised us that it will take a minimum of 5 months and maybe more to get our data. I believe this is an attempt to discourage our 15-member group to move. we are in the process of starting litigation and complaining to regulators. It has been an awful experience.

“great value
Pros
AdvancedMD has great customer service. If you ever need to reach out to them for anything they quick to help and if they will get back to you swiftly. They are by far the best customer service team I have ever had dealt with. The sales team was also very helpful making sure that you get exactly what you need. The EHR is also very user friendly and can be customized to exactly what you need.
Cons
While they have a great customer service, I wish the waiting time was much less than what it is. Also be warned that it took us a few weeks to set up the software and get the staff trained on the new system. That is likely going to be the case with any of the EHR setups we looked at and for anyone look at AMD.

“Getting started
Pros
AdvancedMD is great because it helps in integration of billing, scheduling, and the ability to upload faxes and PDFs from referring doctors into a one-stop solution. Also, the mobile application allows for ease with scheduling or accessing patient information while out of the office or remotely. It has really changed the way I have done my practice in the last few years.
Cons
Although I have started recently, there is nothing big so far which I would consider a con. but if anything, I wish that the software’s customer support works more seamlessly than it does right now. I do not want to spend a lot of time waiting for the support to pick my phone.

“Only for large practices.
Pros
AdvancedMD proves that this software can be of use because of its great features, options and customization. They also seem to have a great streamlined process for claims filing which can really help those who need that function in their practice.
Cons
Due to their advanced technology and features, the price point for this product is quite high and does not offer pricing flexibility that I would have wished it had. Surely, it is not cost-effective for those who would want the product for their smaller practices. It is made with the big businesses in mind who can afford it.

“Too many movements to get simple work done
Pros
I like that AdvancedMD helps in evenly distributing money over multiple dates of service. It has a relatively understandable user interface and helps work better if the number of clicks don’t annoy you.
Cons
AMD has just one click too many. I can’t deal with the number of keyboard to mouse movements to just do a simple task. There are so many other EMRs that we have used and none caused this level of duress that AMD has caused.

“Seamless templates and prescriptions
Pros
The pre-built note templates and how seamlessly they connect with the program management system is something I like a lot. I also find the integrated prescription feature to be very helpful and convenient within the software.
Cons
For my part, I'd like to have a broader selection of template options and a more user-friendly way to create and modify those templates.

“Easy to use for claims
Pros
AMD is brilliant for entering, editing and submitting claims. It is easy to use and the step by step guide assistance will make it easier for you. The Patient billing has a ticker system which makes it easy to keep up with who is paying, making monthly payment arrangement payments, and who is not paying. I would highly recommend it to use.
Cons
I just wish that some of the steps were less tedious than they are. While easy to get to, AMD does have some cumbersome spots, such as finding old claims submissions and having to look for reports of previous submissions which needs to be fixed as soon as possible. I hope the developers are making notes of these issues.

“An elegant EMR
Pros
I love how highly adaptable, simple to use and elegant AdvancedMD is. They have multiple staff members available to answer questions, so you are not stuck waiting if one person is out of the office. They are also highly responsive to questions and that is something I really prefer with my EMR service.
Cons
A bit on the pricier side, I hope that they lower their software price. However, I like that they do offer a payment plan for the installation. It does cost extra to subscribe to e-prescription but is reasonable. Plus, the elegant UI makes it worth the money.

“Effective and efficient
Pros
AdvancedMD provides all the functions anyone needs for a solo practice physician office. It gives options for calendar, secure records, ECPS, and faxing, which are all things I need on a day to day basis. I accept credit cards and patients can pay online and in this sense, AMD had made it all so much easier for me. It is surely a complete, effective and efficient software suite.
Cons
While there are some great options on this software, some functions are obscure or difficult to find or use for me. None of these are regular tasks, however. Fixing problems sometimes took a couple weeks and I wish the customer support took care of this more quickly than they do.

“Useful software
Pros
Advanced MD has an ease of system in general for the most part and it creates a great UI experience that my employees and I fully endorse. I also find the F1 key very helpful as it gives us a lot of useful filters to use. I would fully recommend it to those who want a good EMR for their practice.
Cons
AMD is unable to create own rules and bridges for bariatric and that I wish would change. I would love for it to append a dx to a certain CPT code. I wonder if the developers can introduce a command for a no show fee when the patient has not shown in their next update.

“Fits perfectly into advancedmd
Pros
I am really pleased that the EHR fits into AdvancedMD almost perfectly. It operates smoothly and with one click on a link I am taken straight to that client's EHR profile.
Cons
When working with the EHR section, I find AdvancedMD's interface isn't very user-friendly. It definitely requires several training sessions before I can fully grasp and confidently use that part of the EHR.

“very user friendly but deletions are permanent
Pros
It is very user friendly. Scanning and importing files takes practically no time. Also it is simple to erase errors or shift documents between patient charts without hassle!
Cons
While it's easy to delete an incorrect document, I find that problematic because once removed I cannot get it back and if a file is saved I cannot update or revise it which means I'd need to create a new document.

“AMD serves as our subledger
Pros
As an accountant for an institute that provides therapeutic services for the public, AdvancedMD serves as our subledger and it can’t get anymore brilliant. The software provides a versatile platform that helps utilize customizable features that cater to our specific needs to ensure that all records are accounted and transparent. We are a satisfied user of this software and would recommend it to others.
Cons
While the interface of the website portal offers a user-friendly experience, it does require time and effort to utilize all its functions properly and with of ease. In other words, you only get what you put into it and that is basically, a lot of effort and hours!

“Bank reconciliation is a nightmare
Pros
For me, the ODBC connection is absolutely fantastic. I use T-SQL to build reports that far outperform what almost any PM system's built-in reporting can deliver. Advanced Insight, the included BI tool, is decent but it doesn't hold a candle to the ODBC.
Cons
Frankly, I am stunned that you cannot lock payment deposit dates. With the practice management and billing systems I have used before, I could reconcile the day's transactions with the bank and then lock those deposit dates so they couldn't be altered. Sadly, AdvancedMD lets people edit a payment's deposit date at any time during the payment's lifecycle which turns bank reconciliation into an absolute nightmare for me.

“Decent system for a small practice
Pros
For a small practice like ours, it is a very nice system. It is easy to get your hands on. The basic features like billing, claims and posting payments are pretty easy to do. They have a lot of other great features as well like authorization tracking, and the collection module which in fact is very helpful.
Cons
They really do not upgrade often, and they also do not really focus on customer suggestions and comments, which they should. The reporting feature is lacking, and to have it you have to pay for its module which is a little pricey. Setting it up also takes some skills and time, as it is not an easy task to do.

“Simple but freezes too often
Pros
This platform is simple to use and very user friendly. I have learned to navigate it faster than any other.

“Works best for smaller practices
Pros
I have found this works best for smaller practices, because once you scale up to a larger or multi-location setup it becomes really difficult to generate the reports you need.
Cons
In our large, multi-location office it's extremely difficult for me to pull reliable reports filtered by location and I often struggle to get the site-specific data we need.
