Awesome Software

Pros

We appreciate the flexibility of being able to create our own templates in AdvancedMD to align with the specific needs of our practice. As a co-occurring Mental Health and SUD program having customizable documents and templates is crucial for us and AdvancedMD meets this requirement. Additionally the scheduling function is excellent allowing us to color-coordinate appointments schedule multi-person groups and easily make adjustments when needed. The ability to personalize our templates and efficiently manage our appointments is a valuable aspect of AdvancedMD.

Cons

There aren't many templates available for our SUD program although we managed to create them ourselves. The software's numerous features make it challenging to learn.

an effective software that is compatible to our needs

Pros

The customer service is outstanding. We have been using this product for over 10 years and AdvancedMD has consistently made our workflow more efficient.

Cons

There is a new scheduler but it still redirects to the old system when editing patient demographics. While the layout is improved we need time to adapt to the changes.

Great Software on the high end

Pros

The customer service is fantastic with multiple representatives available to assist at all times. Additionally there are instructional videos available on each page that guide you through the process. The PM and EHR aspects are comprehensive and well-designed.

Cons

Pricing is the main concern. I found other companies offering similar features at a much lower cost.

Great Experience Fantastic Support

Pros

Every time I encounter an issue or have a question regarding how to adapt the software to our specific needs the support personnel at AdvancedMD/EHR remain on the line patiently guiding me until I fully grasp the solution. They even go the extra mile by offering suggestions on how to enhance efficiency. From the dedicated support team to the user-friendly software the entire system is a breeze to navigate and offers remarkable versatility. I am consistently impressed by their commitment to providing exceptional support and the software's multifunctionality.

Cons

A more comprehensive and detailed AdvancedMD manual is needed providing step-by-step instructions for various tasks without the need to contact support. For instance having detailed information on the exclusions tab in the Claims Center and guidance on fixing issues and when it's necessary to delete and re-enter a charge after making corrections would be beneficial. While the EHR is great as it is having the ability to "lock" or "secure" an account completely as per a patient's request would be a valuable addition.

Pros

The customization features of this software truly shine. As the operator of an alternative clinic specializing in major neurological disorders standard billing and patient flow don't fit our needs. However the software's lightning-quick hotkey functions simple and reproducible reports and customizable progress notes section make it perfect for our unique requirements. The patient portal while not exclusive to AdvancedMD is straightforward and highly beneficial when tailored to our preferences. Moreover the customer service provided exceeds expectations and goes above and beyond.

Cons

The debate between cloud-based and server-based systems has valid arguments on both sides. Personally I prefer cloud-based systems. However even with excellent internet service we have experienced a few days of bad connection leaving us unable to access the system.

Great for scheduling routes but bogs down with multiple users

Pros

It is a user-friendly platform. Our phlebotomists use to organize and schedule their routes throughout the hospital to collect patients blood.

Cons

Sometimes I notice it gets complicated when multiple people try to use it at the same time

Highly recommended for new practices

Pros

I have been using the system for a while and like everything about it. It is easy to use and I can easily train new staff.

Cons

At times the system is slow and get stuck but mostly it runs fine.

Support is terrable.

Pros

The software is user-friendly and easily accessible online from anywhere since it is cloud-based.

Cons

The support is terrible. It's difficult to reach anyone and when you do they often don't have a solution. Help tickets take days or longer to get a response and specific questions sent via email go unanswered.

The software is excellent but the support is a nightmare

Pros

The software is excellent and interfaces well with my electronic medical record. Additionally it can interface with other EMR systems like Kareo.

Cons

The support experience is highly frustrating due to a lack of coordination between departments. One department makes promises that the next department is unaware of leaving customers to provide evidence and repeat their concerns. This disjointed support process adds to the overall nightmare of seeking assistance.

Pros

It can be adjusted to suit individual practice needs and is easy to navigate. The training library and available help content are useful resources.

Cons

Additional costs for updates and occasional system slowness are drawbacks. I prefer more direct communication with people.

Lots of features and user friendly.

Pros

The ability to check insurance eligibility with just one click is amazing! It saves us significant time and money. The customer support is also excellent. There are many great things about this software that I could go on and on about.

Cons

Was quite impressed with your system!

Pros

This software can greatly reduce time-consuming tasks in an office environment. It's like having a personal secretary for a secretary!

Cons

The price is high for a small business starting out. It would be beneficial to have different pricing tiers based on business size.

I have been using this software for 6 years and it was easy to learn and makes my job easier.

Pros

I particularly like the ease of switching between the PM side and the EHR side. As someone responsible for billing auditing and charges, this is essential for me.

Cons

There is an issue with reversals on unapplied payments. If a mistake is made the payment is lost and cannot be corrected.

AdvancedMD Review

Pros

The software is very user-friendly and offers many useful functions. The reporting feature is excellent and there are options to customize reports according to your needs.

Cons

Customer service is lacking. Often it feels like I know more about the product than the representatives do.

e-claim nightmare

Pros

Firstly the progress notes section can be fully designed from scratch which is a great advantage. Secondly when you have a good support staff they can be very helpful.

Cons

The system lacks the capability to enter agency provider numbers for billing home health re-certifications. Despite using the system for nine months I haven't received payment for electronically filed claims and have only been paid for paper claims submitted by mail. The accuracy of information in the insurance and provider databases has been problematic resulting in numerous claim rejections. It takes a significant amount of time around 30-40 minutes to enter information for a patient encounter and even longer for new patients. As a result I am actively seeking a new system. Additionally the wait times for support on the phone can be hours even after months of experiencing billing problems. Finally I recently obtained an assigned support person who has been helpful but I hope to see resolution to these issues soon.

Decent PMS

Pros

The software integrates well with our EHR and credit card payment company. It offers detailed scheduling and a decent range of available reports. While it is relatively easy to use templates need to be manually entered annually and cannot be copied for replication.

Cons

To generate custom data reports a subscription to the costly Advanced Insight is required. Unfortunately subscribing to Advanced Insight is not available for individual providers but must be done for the entire organization. Customer service is not very responsive unless you utilize the chat feature. Furthermore the rollout of the new schedule did not come with advance instructions leading to struggles in adapting to the changes.

Saves money with web-based tools

Pros

Because it's a web-based platform, I no longer need to worry about maintenance contracts or buying hardware which saves money. All the tools are centralized in one location and I have seen billing efficiency jump by about 200%.

Cons

Mastering the system proved to be really difficult and took a lot of time, often leaving me confused. So I'd love for them to expand the in-app training materials so learning becomes less frustrating.

Overall good billing software program

Pros

The software detects claim errors before submission saving time on data entry with macro billing.

Cons

The program requires multiple "add-on modules" to be purchased in order to access its full functionality. The customer support provided is below average. We encountered issues with an add-on module we purchased which was not functioning properly. We notified AdvancedMD about the errors just one week after the purchase but it took them approximately five weeks to address the problem and shut down the module. This delay caused financial harm to our practice and caused frustration among our patients. The software was excessively sending texts and emails to patients with up to 16 messages in a single day due to a significant error in the software code. Despite the severity of the issue AdvancedMD was slow to act and refused to promptly shut down the module. Furthermore they continued to charge us monthly for the malfunctioning module even though it was not working correctly. We are disappointed with their lack of a satisfactory solution.

Cons
