Good for multi-location facilities

Pros

We tried many system before sticking to AdvancedMD. The system works very well and our doctors are extremely satisfied. The billing side of things are smooth and the AR management process is robust

Cons

Their client services team is not as good as expected. They at times forget to respond.

Good value but has some limitations

Pros

The pricing is very competitive and the customer and technical support are satisfactory. The integration of billing and EHR is well executed.

Cons

Its not fully compatible with an Apple system. Additionally its not as customized to psychiatry as some of the other EHR products.

Poor customer service, and they lied about their capabilities

Pros

I did enjoy the insurance billing capabilities.

Cons

It doesn't automatically update the DMEPOS Medicare Fee Schedule. I have to manually enter all 800+ codes 3 to 4 times per year.

Good once you learn to navigate

Pros

It offers a wide range of capabilities.

Cons

Navigating the page can be hard. The multiple options and sometimes unclear images make it difficult to distinguish between different functions.

Advanced md review

Pros

I like the software although I did face some challenges getting started since its the first software I purchased and implemented independently.

Cons

Advanced MD

Pros

It is fairly simple to use and training new employees on the system is a breeze.

Cons

There is no way to track canceled appointments for recall which is a major downfall. Some reports have limitations, like the inability to separate patients by insurance carrier. It doesn't prompt for duplicate patients when entering new ones. Setting up the schedule template is time consuming and not easily changeable after the initial setup.

Pros

The software allows a paperless environment. The people behind the software are fantastic and the online training videos are helpful. Our salesman, David Gates has been wonderful.

Pros

Scheduling appointments is simple task with this software and completing payments and charges is quick.

Cons

The inability to track patients who miss appointments unless we manually move them is a disadvantage. It would be helpful to have a "no-show" option alongside the "check in" and "check out" options for this purpose.

Confusing &amp, hard to get trained on

Pros

Billing module is strong and delivers. I like the electronic eligibility and claim scrubbing.

Cons

It is not suitable for small practices, they have too many options and it is not easy to learn the system. It doesnt work on Mac.

Good software with poor support

Pros

The ICD-10 functionality makes it easy to code correctly for billing purposes. We purchased this software solely for this feature and although we were thrilled to use it. we have been disappointed by other issues we have encountered.

Cons

I can never reach support in a timely manner, and any more complex issues like credentialing or importing electronic EOBs directly from insurance companies using the integrated system have been nothing but problematic. I would like to switch our software again. ADMD support used to be decent and reachable, but that's no longer the case.

Like the PM/EHR (even with pop-up ads), avoid Billing Service.

Pros

The reporting side of the software offers more functionality than we will ever need. As a small practice (with just one provider) it exceeds our functional requirements in almost every aspect. The user interface can be a bit confusing (and now includes annoying pop up medication advertising...) in our Family Practice setting, but its not overly complicated. The systems uptime has been impressive. In the past year I can't recall more than two brief interruptions, the longest of which lasted about half a day and was resolved by the next morning when we returned to work.

Cons

There are a couple of major cons to AdvancedMD. particularly in the Billing portion of the software. For a small practice looking for a comprehensive package (PM/EHR/Billing), these factors should be considered. AdvancedMD is expensive compared to other comprehensive packages. When I asked for a reduction, they mentioned raising the rate to 9% since our monthly net income was lower than average. Other competitors have quoted us lower rates for the same services, some even below 6%. Additionally, we receive pop-up medication advertisements in our patient EHR, which is surprising and unwanted. The software works well overall, but the billing service is not satisfactory. It took over a year for us to be assigned an Account Manager for support. If you can tolerate the forced advertisements and don't need much assistance aside from online videos, AdvancedMD software can work well. However, the billing service is a separate issue and expense. Bundling the services, we found it to be evaluated as such. If you stick to the PM/EHR, even with the price its a decent software package.
