“Reliable system
Pros
AdvancedMD's capability to customize templates is highly commendable. Unlike other systems where you have to submit changes to their development team with the right permissions you can make immediate changes on your own. However mastering the art of fully customizing word merge templates requires practice and patience. The customer service team is generally helpful and readily available although the level of dedication may vary among representatives. On the other hand their account managers are consistently helpful and genuinely advocate for what's best for their customers.
Cons
While AdvancedMD is committed to improving their system, there are still some features that need improvement or are missing, especially given the current state of technology. For example, the Analytics feature does not include tracking for marketing or referral data, and the customer survey feature cannot be customized. Also, important telehealth features, such as an "ask to mute" option, are not available. The connectivity for telehealth sessions could also be improved, as there are frequent issues with patients and providers connecting and maintaining a stable signal. Without EDI agreements for electronic remittance posting, processing insurance payments becomes a slow and tedious task, leading to excessive wait times as I navigate between fields. Moreover, the online scheduling feature is not fully integrated into the scheduling system, which requires me to create blocks and holds to show provider availability instead of automatically reflecting existing appointments. Despite these limitations, AdvancedMD is still a software worth exploring and evaluating.

“Usage of AdvancedMD in Early to Mid 2018
Pros
Billing and accounting processes were more streamlined and user-friendly as far as I can recall.
Cons
In the past it was difficult to input information and navigate between days but updates may have addressed these issues.

“Complete and user-friendly RCM
Pros
Having the complete RCM consolidated in one place is what I like most. And while working through daily training and customer service tasks, I have found the level of usability pretty user friendly too.
Cons
I'd prefer a dedicated onboarding representative to assist with new hires or newcomers. I mean someone who can be there on their first day to guide and train them through the basics.

“Switched to Athena for Improved Billing Practices
Pros
Regrettably, there were no positive aspects that we could highlight about this software, leading us to make the decision to switch to Athena.
Cons
Our experience with the software was extremely disappointing, primarily due to their ineffective billing practices. They failed to handle our insurance billing appropriately, leading to claims being carelessly written off without any attempts to bill the insurance company. To our dismay, they proceeded to bill patients directly and sent soft collection letters without readdressing the insurance billing. Moreover, claims were written off without proper authorization, creating additional financial burdens for our hospital and healthcare team.

“Meeting Promised Expectations with Room for Improvement
Pros
We were delighted to discover that the software delivered everything our sales representative had assured us. It came at a competitive price and offered the necessary features that perfectly suited our needs. As we made the switch from paper charting, we were pleasantly surprised by the available functionalities, making the transition smoother despite starting with minimal knowledge.
Cons
The aspect that disappointed me the most was their customer service. The implementation teams training was subpar, leaving us to rely heavily on self-learning through trial and error, and extensive online searches. Unfortunately, most of our questions and system-related issues went unanswered, and it often felt like the support team lacked an understanding of our queries. Customizing simple note templates proved challenging, requiring a grasp of coding, while notes themselves occasionally encountered internal issues even after signing. Annoyingly, there was no admin level access for editing signed notes, even when the errors were due to system glitches rather than user mistakes. Additionally, the reporting system proved to be messy, unorganized, and difficult to navigate. We were even compelled to pay extra for basic information reporting. Frequent glitches and the lack of insightful support added further frustration to the experience.

“everything was awful
Pros
Sadly, we found absolutely no benefits. Truly everything about our experience was awful. Because there weren't any positives to note, we are just continuing to write here to hit the character minimum.
Cons
Our onboarding was a complete mess as their team handled and managed it very poorly. We kept running into dropped balls during training and every interaction with customer service felt like a struggle. The person assigned as customer success actually quit and nobody told us like it wasn't until almost two weeks later, after we kept asking that they admitted it. Because of that we had no dedicated resource to finish onboarding and when someone did engage, communication was minimal. At times we had no clue what stage we were even at. Escalating up the chain didn't help as their managers offered no real assistance. I even tracked down the CEO's email and reached out but her response was disappointing and unhelpful. The software itself feels outdated and hard to use. We made multiple suggestions to cover weak spots, yet those ideas were ignored. Their teams operate in silos and there is a clear breakdown in communication. On top of everything we were forced to commit to a $5,000 plus minimum and despite that they treated us poorly. Unless you have no other option, I would tell you to pick anyone else. We ended up losing millions because they could not get their act together and I am seriously considering legal action.

“Customer Service is poor
Pros
To log into the system, simply enter your name, password and office key.
Cons
We currently dont have an account manager to handle issues that may arise with our system. Inevitably, technology can have glitches, and in these situations, we rely on sending emails or making calls to 1-800-nos-ervice. It would be beneficial for the company to improve this aspect to ensure customer retention.

“Expensive and unreliable
Pros
The EHR itself is fine and it has ample features.
Cons
Our therapists are finding the product expensive and unreliable and have complained about glitches and the lack of user-friendliness. Although there is potential in the software, it is inefficient due to numerous nuances. At present, we rely on the software to collect copayments and manage our schedules. However, its current state of being down for extended periods without proper warning is unacceptable.

“Not good for large practices.
Pros
The program is not suitable for large practices and our assigned trainee had no prior knowledge and was still learning the program. As a result, our practice suffered due to insufficient readiness. After five months of using the program, we had to bill outside of it to get paid and were still waiting on correct data transfer. Additionally, most insurance carriers were advised to be added in an incorrect manner, causing our billing to reset almost to zero. Im sharing this review to caution others from enrolling in this program.
Cons
Setting up and using this program is challenging, and it takes a significant amount of time to receive information about claim status from the clearing house. It may take up to 5-6 months or more to set up the program.

“Great customer service
Pros
The AdvancedMD EMR software is amazing. Their customer support is excellent. Their claim center lets us review charges before we submit them to the insurance company and they also scrub the claims to make sure they are clean.
Cons
They should include a feature to do automated write-offs in the system.

“it drives me crazy!!
Pros
I can kind of customize the templates and I like the Healthwatch tool because it lets me set reminders to keep up with ongoing care.
Cons
Honestly everything about it drives me crazy. I think the entire system needs to be ripped apart and rebuilt.
