Pros

The system is highly recommended because of its convenient workflow. You can schedule appointments, create patient charts and store them all in one place. Their customer service is very helpful too and we are happy with their service.

Great practice management

Pros

I am able to manage the large number of patients that come in everyday as the sole administrator. Checking in and checking out is also not a hassle anymore.

Cons

Better than the last one

Pros

Positive experience

Pros

An advanced option

Pros

System interface is great and entering information is so easy because of the automated suggestions. We can pull up any type of report because of the many options available.

Cons

Payment system for insurance companies is not very user-friendly and they need to improve it.

broken system with terrible support

Pros

Retiring means not having to deal with this system anymore. Chose it because vision is poor and, for the most part, it's easy to read. That's really the only thing I like. Wish a different system had been picked years ago.

Cons

They nickel-and-dime you for every extra feature. With all the add-ons it can top $1,000 a month. The basic plan ran $730. Had a customer rep actually hang up on me at 7 PM. There are a few decent staff but with the JavaScript errors and other glitches they stay swamped. Long phone queues are normal. Issues can take days to fix. There's no autosave or way to recover accidentally deleted notes and it's alarmingly easy to lose work and the training doesn't help much. I ended up building all my own templates. As I'm writing this the system is down for unknown reasons and, of course support is closed after 7 PM CT. Scanning labs and reports was a nightmare, every lab interface is another $40/month. Telemedicine is $130/month. The price gouging never ends. Now that I'm closing the office they want $3,500 to export my data to a disk. I'm a solo practitioner and don't have that much data. Hiring an IT person to do it for a tiny fraction of their charge.

Ideal for our practice

Pros

It is simple and has enough customization options which makes it perfect for our practice. Managing insurance claims is now pretty easy too.

Cons

Great Software

Pros

The most excellent feature is the capacity to work on my iPhone and iPad. I am extremely busy and not continuously able to sit on my desktop to work so this feature is pivotal for me.

Cons

It was a bit troublesome to memorize how to customize formats but once you get the hang of it, Its simple to work with

A proper software

Pros

In the fields of medical and counseling programs, every employee can use the same program. The software can be customized according to your own preferences.

Cons

Sometimes AdvancedMD does not work with google and some parts of the settings are difficult to find so it can be customized to make it easier.

They lost all our data!!

Pros

We can't use the system or its features anymore because they lost all of our company's information due to a 'bug' in their system.

Cons

Never use this company!!! We've been on the phone with them for two months because a bug erased every customer invoice our business has filed over the years and they've done nothing to help. Calls are weekly and the only response is, "we know there's an issue with a bug in our system and we don't know when this will be fixed." This could cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars and they act like it doesn't matter. Ironically, they're still billing our business thousands each month for services even though our files are inaccessible. Stopping payments feels risky because there's a real concern they'd delete our data for non-payment. There are plenty of other providers out there and we'd recommend choosing any of them over this one.

Convenient but often glitchy

Pros

All staff can run the same software, so both clinic and counseling teams work from the same place. It's convenient across departments and roles and that setup lets anyone pull up notes from either side when needed. Admins can tweak the note layouts (text boxes, drop-downs, tabs) whenever required, so if a counseling form would benefit from extra questions, those new fields can be added easily.

Cons

In constant daily use, glitches were frequent and they interrupted work often. Sometimes AdvancedMD acted up in Chrome and clearing the cache and cookies was the only fix. Other times a note started while online couldn't be saved if the internet dropped then came back. Locating and understanding user settings and personalizations was hard and making certain organizing or aesthetic changes that would be helpful wasn't easy.

lacks built-in features for dermatology

Pros

It is quite customizable as long as you know how to code and can build a system for yourself.

Cons

They have no dermatology knowledge whatsoever. Basic things we requested were overly complex and we never received what we actually needed. Nothing comes built-in. It's geared toward scheduling, not a true EHR.

Six months, still not ready

Pros

I Can't say yet, it's been six months and our account still isn't fully set up.

Cons

We've been customers of this software for years for one clinic and have been trying to add a second practice for about six months. Even with our long history, the team seems indifferent on the new account. Our dedicated account rep actually said she didn't have time for us, emails are ignored, calls go to voicemail and they make setting up a new account after signing feel impossible.

Nothing good to say

Pros

Honestly, there's nothing that comes to mind.

Cons

Too many to mention. It feels clumsy and unusable. You basically need a coding PhD to tweak a template. Support mostly acts arrogant. The company ignores complaints and often shifts the blame onto you for issues caused by their terrible software.

Easy for scheduling patients

Pros

Scheduling patients and setting up future appointments is very easy. It's also very simple to look up a patient and view their insurance details, history and anything else needed to schedule or complete a prior authorization.

Cons

It would be great if more EHR and EMR systems were linked to cut down on switching between platforms but overall it works well and I don't have any real complaints.

Complicated but good

Pros

Although it is a great software it took me a lot of time to put things into one place. The software is very customizable.

Cons

We have a hard time troubleshooting software problems due to the complexity of the software. The customer support is really really bad. It takes them ages to respond back.

Too complicated to use

Pros

It worked smoothly with our practice management system and the billing team.

Cons

Way too complicated of a system. We had been on Eclinicalworks before, then moved to Chartlogic and were hoping for something more comprehensive. Within the first week of use we ran into a lot of issues and reached out to their IT team at AdvancedMD but no fixes were provided. The program was sluggish when searching CPT codes and struggled to match payments. Ultimately we stopped using it after one month, but were forced to pay a $1,440 buyout. They ought to have returned our fees for trying this product. Experience includes Epic, Cerner, Meditech, AHLTA and Chartlogic, plus computer science coursework. As a practicing orthopedic surgeon, would not suggest this system to anyone I know.
