“incredibly flexible for multiple specialties
Pros
AdvancedMD's flexibility is a huge help for practices with multiple specialties. We can tailor workflows for each clinical specialty and significantly cut down the time providers spend finishing their clinical documentation and notes.
Cons
Many functions only work well if users are committed to investing time to learn the platform and its nuances. Without that willingness to train, practice and adapt, the system can become really frustrating to work with.

“Navigating the system is a constant struggle
Pros
I really appreciate how the system makes the final step so effortless. After I've finished my notes and located the patient's chart, signing it is very easy.
Cons
It feels awkward and hard to locate items and document correctly.

“Physical Therapy Practice
Pros
Robust tool. Excellent ongoing support. The set-up is amazing. The reason why we chose AdvancedMD is that the sales and support staff are very supportive.
Cons
For a small practice, this tool might be a bit more complexed. Even the most simple tasks sometimes are pretty complex to execute for which we require support.

“Happy User
Pros
AdvancedMD is a well-integrated system and its integration with other programs we use is amazing. It has been over 9 years that we’ve been using this system. The support they provide is incredible.
Cons
There shouldn’t be additional costs for add on modules.

“Appointment confirmation
Pros
It is easy to handle multiple schedules at once due to its appealing appearance. The appointment confirmation checklist is something I like as it has all the options to document as to what occurred.
Cons
I would like to have the PM and EMR in one system rather than always have to keep jumping and switching between the two. I’ve also had some issues with tracking the payment of patients.

“allows quick and painless patient search
Pros
I could quickly pull up patients using different search queries. For example DOB, address or name which made navigation painless. Entering patient details was simple too and I could easily create Word documents from the information.
Cons
It occasionally lost information, so I had to re-enter everything multiple times. The prescription feature was the toughest to get synced with pharmacies, though that might not have been the software's fault.

“Costs a lot
Pros
You need to learn how to use the system first, and then it becomes easier.
Cons
This system is not worth the price you pay. The RCM doesn’t really do anything, so we had to hire a biller while we were paying them for the system as well.

“Great price.
Pros
Once you learn how to use the system it becomes easier. It comes at a good price. The system has many different templates to offer and lets you add as well.
Cons
The training they provide is fast-paced. Connecting with the right customer support person can take many calls to get things fixed.

“Great sales, terrible follow-through
Pros
When I agreed to buy this, they guaranteed 11 hours of training. The features sounded great and had me really excited. I spent over two hours on the tutorial call. The salesperson was superb at pitching the product and raised my hopes that it would benefit my practice. They promised it would be up and running within 4-6 weeks. I was told billing would begin ASAP and revenue would start flowing into the practice. I have more than 100 superbills lined up for launch. I liked that the first two months would be free and that the next two billing cycles would come at a reduced price.
Cons
Once the deal was done, the assigned trainer gave us at most 1.5 hours of instruction. It took weeks to get them to call and help configure AdvancedMD. After the initial setup, we didn't hear back for several more weeks. From signing the contract it was six weeks before we went live, and the promised 11 hours of training never materialized. The first two "free" months passed without a single claim being processed. The trainer wasted our time with 3-4 minute "intro" calls and then wouldn't follow up for another couple of weeks. What a waste for my staff to plan a one-hour session and only get a four-minute conversation. Her sessions were insufficient, she seemed unfamiliar with the system and without solid training we didn't even know what to ask. This poor setup and training has severely hurt my business. I'm in crisis with the billing side and no one seems to care. If not for customer care, we'd be in dire straits financially. The first billing cycle (month three) owed $500 while we'd only collected about $200. The next month we still hadn't collected more than $400 but were charged another $500. Accounting then billed $1,500 and auto-debited my account. I don't know what's happening with AdvancedMD but I'm desperate for help.

“costly and frustrating mistake
Pros
I was really excited to switch to Nuemd, expecting it to be a simple upgrade. Unfortunately, the service hasn't lived up to the promise and has been a big letdown.
Cons
Moving to Advanced MD was the worst decision for our practice. We ran into endless billing problems and patient statements are practically always wrong. I ended up doing double the work to correct the mess Advanced MD caused. Patients called upset because they received mailed statements showing balances, when Advanced MD hadn't posted EOBs correctly. Now we're stuck paying thousands of dollars each month to a company that creates more headaches and takes up a lot more of our time.

The electronic consent and intake tools for organizing things before appointments is something I really like.
