“poor configuration and unfriendly layout
Pros
Adding and editing appointments is pretty easy for me. I also loved that patient photos popped up while I was scheduling.
Cons
There were no meaningful personal preference options. The overall AMD layout was not very user-friendly. I also ran into problems with coding and billing since it wasn't properly configured to handle PT CPT codes.

Pros
The program is pretty easy to use as almost anything I need it to do, it seems capable of handling.
Cons
The reports tend to run on the long side and often result in unnecessary paper waste.

“Easy interface and fast templates
Pros
I find the interface really easy to get around and I can create templates that speed up writing my notes significantly.
Cons
Unfortunately there is no option for me to delete notes after I have created them which is frustrating.

“difficult to use tool
Pros
What I liked was that the patient's medical history was imported straight into the evaluation but Honestly that was about the only positive I found.
Cons
I find this whole program really cumbersome for physical therapists because we cannot achieve Medicare compliance, there's no reliable faxing capability and we cannot submit accurate claims. It's simply not configured properly for the way our billing works.

“Impressive tailoring, outdated interface
Pros
I am impressed that it anticipates so many details and I am able to tailor it to fit my company's specific requirements.
Cons
Honestly the interface doesn't feel user friendly to me and it comes across as quite outdated in appearance.

“Pretty easy, fast and pleasing
Pros
It is pretty easy to pick up, very fast for arranging appointments and it has a pleasing visual design.
Cons
Occasionally it fails to run on some computers, though I am not certain whether the issue is due to our own equipment or the software.

“Very easy, adaptable and complete
Pros
As a user of AdvancedMD's EHR, I find the system very easy to use, highly adaptable and it meets all of our practice's requirements.
Cons
When I print them, the chart notes come out very long and with excessive spacing which wastes paper.

“love the detailed scheduling and separation of providers
Pros
I like that the scheduling features let me add a wide range of options and make it easy to keep providers separate. I am also able to put a lot of detailed information into the system without much trouble.
Cons
To be honest, the workflow involves quite a few steps and I don't find the system particularly easy to navigate or use.

“AdvancedMD
Pros
It is a robust EHR and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants their practice to grow. I like how I enter the information once and can pull it out into multiple additional forms. It is easy to customize the forms the way you want it to be.
Cons
The system has a learning curve to it but they do assign a trainer and provide unlimited support which helps.

“Not mental health specific
Pros
The software is good and has everything that usually a provider requires.
Cons
It is not tailored according to mental health. It takes a lot of time in training and setting it up. It is complex for an average user.

“Frequent glitches and failed eligibility checks
Pros
Lately they updated the scheduling layout and I have found it much simpler to use with fewer steps.
Cons
I am frustrated by the frequent glitches and the lengthy multi-step process for scheduling appointments. I also dislike that there isn't a way to run eligibility checks in batches, so I have to process each patient's eligibility one by one. You can configure it to run primary checks a few days in advance but about half the time they fail and never run.

“Accessible anytime, adaptable design
Pros
I rely on this cloud-based platform because I can access it anytime and from anywhere. The design feels adaptable to virtually any healthcare center and I have seen physicians, clinical managers, office managers and healthcare executives all use it effectively. The interface is also easy to navigate and the customer care has been excellent whenever I needed help. Training is done online and was brief enough that my staff became comfortable with it quickly. Integration has been seamless for me which makes comparing data, running reports, viewing staff charts and handling management tasks much simpler. There is also an iOS mobile app that keeps me updated on everything happening in the practice and the tracking features let me assess the current situation and make reasonable predictions about future trends. Overall I have found it accurate, with smooth data transfer across AdvancedMD products and it includes a user friendly charting workflow that fits into our clinical processes.
Cons
I haven't come across any drawbacks. It comes with the best features that in my experience make it suitable for all EHR functions.

“quite useful across specialties
Pros
I have used this program as a billing solution across multiple medical specialties. It isn't limited to a single type of physician and I appreciate the number of options available to tailor things like scheduling, statements and other elements to fit our practice's needs.
Cons
It took me quite a while to get comfortable with this system because the learning curve is fairly steep and it's not very user friendly. There are numerous behind the scenes options and settings that have to be configured just so if it's going to mesh with our office workflows and send claims correctly and getting those right required a lot of trial and error. A frustrating limitation for our team is that the application is most compatible with Internet Explorer which isn't available for Mac users, so some reports only load on a PC running Explorer since they rely on Microsoft Silverlight. Support has told me they are planning to address this but I haven't been given any estimate for when that change might happen.

“The whole package, truly great!
Pros
Scheduling in AdvancedEHR is pretty easy for me. I also love that I can adjust the timing intervals, set up different color-coded appointment types and assign a default duration to each kind of visit. Adding a new patient is also not a problem. Creating billing notes, sending messages or tasks and entering persistent data are generally quick and easy in my experience. There are useful EHR features too like being able to import medication history from a national database, look up pharmacies, customize abbreviations and more. Overall it is really great software!
Cons
I truly think it is the whole package as I have nothing negative to say about their support or the applications.

“Powerful and easy feature set
Pros
I am really impressed with AdvancedEHR because of its powerful feature set such as medical scheduling tools, provider and doctor dashboards, fast and simple reporting, patient charts, the ability to help patients remember appointments, patient messaging and automated clinical billing services. The practice management side of the product is also excellent for scheduling and A/R workflow capabilities and works well for our office staff. Moreover the interface and core features are genuinely easy to use.
Cons
One issue I have is that the calendar doesn't adjust times according to your location which can be confusing at times when I am scheduling patients or clients across different time zones and it makes appointments harder to book accurately.

“No admin edit or e-sign options
Pros
I really like that the interface uses color coding and I can customize each patient's chart so the folders I use most are front and center.
Cons
However, once notes are 'signed' they cannot be reopened, edited or deleted by administrators which makes supervising and reviewing documentation a real challenge for me and my team. There's also no option for clients to electronically sign treatment plans or other paperwork, so we still have to keep paper charts even though scanned documents can be uploaded.
