Allscripts is extremely expensive and not flexible. The features it offers are not worth your money or your time. Lags a lot too.

Pros
When I was about to purchase the software it seemed very impressive in what it said it would deliver however, it was very misleading.
Cons
Every additional feature such as MIPS, ECPS, and more cost extra. In the end, you end up paying a ton of money! The billing is also very confusing and long. They also take forever to clear billing issues.

Their presentation and pitch to sell us the software were great but they failed to deliver on every single thing!
Cons
You will be charged extra for every single thing! Every extra feature has a huge price tag in hidden charges.

Pros
At our practice we rely on Allscripts as the backbone of our practice management and it has served our business very well. Across eleven offices we run the platform on our own in-house servers and multiple internal components connect into it to pull data from its database. Their technical support is also the best and dependable. As they have been extremely helpful whenever we've gone through version upgrades, migrated servers or needed assistance troubleshooting unexpected issues.
Cons
I have noticed that their support team can be slow to respond at times. The group feels quite categorized, so I often end up talking to several different people before a complete resolution is reached which can be frustrating when I am trying to get something fixed quickly.

Switching between inpatient and outpatient platforms is a bit easier.
Cons
A one-stage process in most EMRs is 5 strides in Allscripts. Fundamental regular elements of clinical consideration are not practical or require long workarounds and support isnt useful and has delayed actualizing any changes. I have used many EMRs and each has its upsides and downsides, yet I currently cant seem to discover one thing that is good about Allscripts over different EMRs. I would not suggest Allscripts as a single platform EMR.

“Questionable business practices, go a different direction!
Pros
Allscripts software offers fairly good reporting features. Plus the scheduling module is quite flexible and can be configured in various ways.
Cons
Service is slow and it is something that causes a lot of frustration. While reports are easy to generate, they often do not reconcile properly due to parameters most users are not aware of. Billing errors on their invoices take months to fix which requires a lot of management time to prove the mistakes.

I like that there are places where we can view the flowsheets in a grid type way so as to look and compare data.
Cons
They need to make changes to the system and get back in the competition. They need to be more competitive and should also be more user-friendly. It is a bit complex when it comes to charting as there are many ways to chart and view things.

Pros
Since they already had many Pediatric specialty clients, it was easier for us and them to customize the system based on the needs of our practice. During the implementation process, we made sure we take our time and make as many changes and additions we need before going live. The training process was simple and the representative from Allscripts was well equipped with all the information. Customer service is capable and pleasant.
Cons
I am already paying for the product, charging me for additional upgrades sounds a rip off to me.

“Lots of features but initially feels complex

I liked the features this software offered. And once you are familiar with everything it can do, recording and pulling up details in the medical record becomes pretty fast and efficient for day to day workflow. I especially enjoyed the prebuilt templates that can be applied to the physical exam sections and speed charting. There was also a handy floating notepad feature that stays accessible and visible as you navigate around the app.
Cons
At first, without any guidance or previous experience with this system, I found it very difficult to use. The layout feels crowded and cluttered and although there are lots of icons scattered throughout, many of them don't clearly describe their function or provide an efficient way to understand what each button does.

I know there isn’t a perfect EMR software but I believe Allscripts has come relatively close to it. I knew that we are never going to go with a default version of the EMR so we worked hard during the implementation process and customized the solution so that it fits the needs of our practice. I pretty much like everything about the system and especially how we can tailor it for our use.
Cons
Their entire system is highly efficient except for their scheduling part. I want the ability to be able to schedule the patients from their charts which I am unable to.

Locating and accessing data in this EHR system is very convenient and does not require too many steps. I previously used a different Electonic Health Records system at my previous practice, transitioning to this system was fairly easy. The advantages are including back office reports that are kept running on a weekly basis for different projects, for example, Meaningful Use, MIPS and PCMH.
Cons
The system freezes too frequently. There are some features that do not work as they are supposed to and leave much to be desired such as the in-app emailing service and faxing. I hope they improve their workability in future updates.

Out of all the systems we have used so far, we found Allscripts EMR to be the most user-friendly one. It is easy to use and the navigation is effective and simple. Workflow is super smooth. We didn’t need much training time because the system is easy as is, however, the implementation did take time because we had to tailor it to meet the needs of every user of our practice as well as our office culture.
Cons
Not too fond of their customer support though. Found them less responsive. However, the support staff that dealt with us was capable.

“A robust, efficient system with some tweaks fixed
Pros
I have had a great experience using Allscripts EHR system. Especially, when paired with their Practice Management, the two have helped make our practice extremely efficient and organized. Checking patients in and out is very simplified with this system. Scheduling is fairly easy. The software has made our day-to-day working very simple and efficient. Individual patient charts have a very good layout, working on them is very intuitive. Another super convenient feature is being able to scan documents and insurance cards, this eliminates the chance of input errors and saves time.
Cons
I love Allscripts systems but the system downtime affects our clinic work significantly. There are times when the system would suddenly freeze, we need to restart the program to get things working again. Crossing over from PM to the cloud EHR is not as smooth as it should be. The system has potential but needs updating.

“Really easy transition from hospital

Finding what I need in this Electronic Health Record is really easy for me. Since I switched from a hospital that used a different EHR, I personally found the transition to this system to be fairly easy and smooth.
Cons
I am frustrated that functions like faxing and secure email within the app don't consistently function properly which can be a real annoyance when I am trying to communicate important information.

The interface is really easy to navigate and I like that bug fixes are rolled out frequently. Plus customer support has been helpful and all the EHR documents are easy for me to find and well organized.
Cons
The upgrades often introduce new bugs and I struggle because copying and pasting inside a chart note is not easy too. Also this setup isn't something I see commonly used at other healthcare organizations.
