“The Best!”
Pros
Athena can do most anything in their EMR/Practice Management product!
Cons
The percentage rate of collections can be a little high. The billing department can be a little hard to get a hold of, but overall, its a great product.

“Excellent Way to Communicate with Other Providers”
Pros
I like how I can easily search through outpatient records when caring for patients in the hospital setting. Everything I need to know is located in one place, such as past medical history, current medications, previous lab work, and imaging, etc. I can see where the patient was last seen and what was done for them. I especially like how I can message providers to stay in close communication with them, allowing a smoother transition from inpatient to outpatient care.
Cons
I do not like how not all providers are connected with Athena. If a provider is not part of the system, I cannot communicate with them.

“Great tool for healthcare providers”
Pros
This tool is great for fast information and effective systems. Switching to Athena helped our company create a better end-user experience for our employees and customers.
Cons
Some buttons are useless to us. I wish we could get rid of these keys for the space. Rearranging would be beneficial.

“Would not recommend to my worst enemy”
Pros
Honestly, the salesperson was the reason we went with Athena. Everything they promised never came to fruition.
Cons
This is the most difficult EHR to use. Definitely NOT intuitive, and the training was horrible.

“Not Available for Android - iPhones only!??”
Pros
I was ecstatic when my co-worker showed me I could access it on my mobile device. I would not have to be around my laptop if I needed to check labs or do some quick follow-up on my day off.
Cons
I tried and tried to log in on my phone, but to no avail. Its not supported by my browser. I looked at all their advertising for how amazing Athena clinicals is and tried to figure out why I could not get it to work for me. I called customer support at Athena only to hear that it is only supported by the iPhones. Why? How, in 2018, does a company provide a service that can only be utilized by iPhones? We operate their Athena EHR in our office on Windows-based computers, which do not require Macs to operate their EHR, so why limit their mobile support to iPhones? My advice from tech support was to make a suggestion. Anyone else out there who does not operate on an iPhone, can you please make a suggestion too?

“athenahealth review”
Pros
The mobile piece was an excellent solution at the time, but as standards changed, we no longer needed a system like this. There are a lot of features, but they come at a price.
Cons
It was pretty expensive for the population we were using this for. Maybe 200 people were using it, and it was a huge cost. We used this software for a year or so, but no longer needed the mobile portion, so the software became too expensive.

“Athena is one of the best, But Support and Training Isn't”
Pros
The new interface is modern compared to what we were using before. It's easy to navigate once a workflow is established.
Cons
Support provided by the team is not the best. I have still got open tickets from months ago with no resolution. Occasionally, you will get someone who can fix your problem on the first call. Training is subpar. The previous EMR was here for a month training users. Athena sent a few people a couple of weeks ahead to train only the superusers. Then they sent a few more the week before (3), the week of (8), and the week after (3). Most of those people do not even have the answers. They tend to stick to what is in the training, but any questions outside of that, they have to get back to you on.

“Extremely helpful”
Pros
It is a very intuitive software that works just as it should. I have used many different software in the past, but this one is extremely well-designed and delivers on its promises.
Cons
There is not anything about this software that I dislike. Its very intuitive and functions very well.

“Athena EHR”
Pros
I used it daily, and it flowed easily for an ortho practice, well-organized regarding patient information and necessary forms or documents. Faxing was also simple.
Cons
Sometimes, with updates, there is an adjustment period and things may run a bit slower. I have called customer service quite a few times, but they have been helpful.

“Very Disappointed with this EHR and their billing.”
Pros
Well, its an electronic record, so I have to consider that a plus. However other than this I really cannot think of any other advantages.
Cons
Total lack of support. You cannot just call to speak to someone. You must first navigate through multiple questions and drop-down boxes, and then you can receive an access code to speak to someone. More often than not, the person is not knowledgeable about how to help with your situation and has to seek assistance elsewhere while you remain on hold.

“Worst EMR Athena is a scam”
Pros
There are no cons; the disadvantages outweigh any potential pros. Do your homework; they are deceitful and will try to sell you an EMR that does not exist.
Cons
The company is terrible. They dont honor the business contract they gave us. There is no support; our office has had to do our own legwork because Athenas support staff is incompetent. There is no billing support whatsoever.

“Exceptional Service”
Pros
The ability to handle healthcare quickly and in an orderly manner is what matters most to me.
Cons
With this product, there are not any drawbacks. With a program designed this well, you cannot help but appreciate everything about it.

“Athena Health EMR”
Pros
Learning about it is pretty easy as manuals are accessible online, and the support and customer service representatives are fantastic!
Cons
No paper manuals, reports are not the simplest but are detailed, which is good! Sometimes finding help internally can be challenging.

“THEY HOLD YOUR MONEY - NOT THE BEST”
Pros
The software is recognized by many organizations and easily accepts laboratory information. Its also easily accessible from various locations.
Cons
The way money is handled made me very uneasy. The responsibility lies with the doctor to remember to click and release funds earned by the medical provider. I have never seen this with any other software. I feel more comfortable having money directly deposited into my account as there is no reason it needs to be held onto by Athena.

“The software, for me, was easy to learn.”
Pros
I liked how encounter notes would automatically be sent to their PCPs, and how simple it was to fax any document.
Cons
I am not a fond of one thing and that is I have to click in and out of the patients folder to find answers, such as authorizations and referrals. Also, there were many steps required just to file one document.

“EHR”
Pros
The ability to track patient communication and easily route faxes is beneficial. Its helpful to see previous patients that you have accessed if you forget who you were just working on.
Cons
There are too many clicks required for one function, entering new patient info takes too long, and viewing schedules is difficult. Its not straightforward to return to the previous screen because it always kicks you back to the main screen.

“This review is specific to the AthenaNet iPhone app... which is total and complete garbage. I would rate it on the App store, like one typically does for apps, but Athena does not post this app on the app store... probably because they don't want anyone t”
Pros
It conveniently fits right in your pocket. The icon is a charming purple cloud with a somewhat inaccurate caricature of an EKG tracing on it.
Cons
It is a useless piece that will not help you in anyway to care or guide for your patients. It continuously blocks you from logging in, stating that "Your session has expired. Please log in." No matter how many times you close or reboot the app, it persists, preventing you from logging in. Pretty inconvenient, huh?

“user friendly”
Pros
Claims can be caught prior to leaving the system for corrections. It is user-friendly and easy to navigate; all aspects of the patient chart are on the same page.
Cons
Athena reps work on the denials, but they still need to be addressed by us. They are never fully argued or disputed. Its a hassle when Athena states something is against insurance policy, but we have claims that are paid and would like to override that function.

“Time consuming”
Pros
Entering data is easy, organized into categories from problems to medications and history, etc. Also, searching for patients is possible in multiple ways.
Cons
There are multiple pages. You need to exit a chart into quick view to schedule an appointment. You need to exit a chart just to make a label. There are limited items to use for conditions, surgeries and orders.

“Clinical staff in an outpatient office”
