BestNotes is a great documentation service!
Pros

BestNotes offers several benefits that make it an excellent documentation service. The program's template development and usage is simple, and it's easier to make any adjustments compared to other programs used in the past. As part of our case management, community service, and counseling notes, we often need to modify these templates, and BestNotes' support team has always been helpful in such cases.

Cons

While there aren't many downsides to BestNotes, one improvement I would like to see is the option to remove pre-populated forms, such as those that document income and insurance, which we don't need. However, I believe that technical support might be able to assist with this issue.

BestNotes is a Fantastic Documentation Tool
Pros

One of the aspects I appreciate about BestNotes is its userfriendly template customization which simplifies modifications compared to other software we've used in the past. We often handle case management community service and counseling notes and occasionally we need to adjust these templates. If we encounter difficulties in creating one the BestNotes support team consistently provides valuable assistance.

Cons

There isn't much I dislike about BestNotes. However it would be beneficial if we could remove certain prefilled forms that are unnecessary for our needs such as income and insurance documentation. It's possible that technical support could assist with removing these forms.

Choosing Athena for Surgery Centers is not a good option.
Pros

Athena has a feature where it can generate a medication list using the patient's pharmacy purchase history. This is helpful when the patient is unable to recall their medications. However if a medication is added to the list that is not already there it becomes an order that the provider must approve. This can cause issues when the provider does not want to sign off on the order. The patient history module is customizable to fit the organization's requirements.

Cons

It seems that Athena needs to work on its support for surgery centers. Despite being promised improvement opportunities in 2017 nothing was done and the team meant to aid me was disbanded. In addition the list of prior surgeries is challenging to use and we often have to choose the closest procedure available and add a note to ensure clarity.

The program is great but it is expensive.
Pros

The software provides templates that are readily available for most specialties. These templates are simple to use and can be customized according to specific needs. The use of interviews and templates speeds up the clinical exam process while ensuring that the Past Medical History Family History and Social History PFSH remains consistent in the records. The system generates brief and comprehensible notes which can be quickly read by other providers.

Cons

The software has some drawbacks. It is more expensive than other programs and some users struggle to learn it. Additionally the billing software requires more work than advertised. The sales staff can be pushy and seem to constantly add extra charges although the initial cost is open for negotiation.
