A Nightmare Experience

Pros

Having someone assist us through the EHR transition was valuable, though we had to pay extra for the white glove service.

Cons

I am frustrated that not all of our data was transferred. We lost notes that were written, signed and locked.

Recommended for a Small Agency Setting

Pros

We managed the CARF survey with minimal difficulty thanks to the product, which made it easy for the consultant and auditor to evaluate charts. It also simplifies setting and tracking charting metrics for clinicians.

Cons

Be aware that you will pay extra for features like Outcome Measures and telehealth. It would also be better if you select a date range in a chart for releasing records.

A Solid EMR Solution

Pros

BestNotes is not as overwhelming as some other EMR systems I have seen. Training new employees on BestNotes is pretty easy. I also like how organized the system is and the updates keep improving it.

Cons

The only downside I can think of is that BestNotes sometimes lags and crashes frequently. When it works correctly, I have no complaints.

Met Expectations

Pros

Creating users and setting up access is simple. Tagging clients helps ensure that employees only see clients within their facilities.

Cons

The application looks a bit dated, and there is a bug that makes BestNotes very slow and unresponsive. Another bug prevents PDFs from populating which requires a workaround and I don't appreciate that.

BestNotes for Documentation

Pros

It offers several benefits that make it an excellent documentation service. The program's template development and usage is simple, and it's easier to make any adjustments compared to other programs used in the past. As part of our case management, community service, and counseling notes, we often need to modify these templates, and BestNotes' support team has always been helpful in such cases.

Cons

While there aren't many downsides to it, one improvement I would like to see is the option to remove pre-populated forms, such as those that document income and insurance, which we don't need. However, I believe that technical support might be able to assist with this issue.

A Fantastic Documentation Tool

Pros

One of the aspects I appreciate about BestNotes is its userfriendly template customization which simplifies modifications compared to other software we've used in the past. We often handle case management community service and counseling notes and occasionally we need to adjust these templates. If we face difficulties in creating one the BestNotes support team consistently provides valuable assistance.

Cons

There isn't much I dislike about BestNotes. However it would be helpful if we could remove certain prefilled forms that are unnecessary for our needs such as income and insurance documentation. It's possible that technical support could assist with removing these forms.

Customer Support Stands Out

Pros

I was introduced to BestNotes at a previous job and was impressed with their exceptional customer support customizable features and userfriendly interface. This positive experience has continued in my current business where the onboarding process with technical support has been crucial for my telehealth practice. The portal for clients is indispensable and the optional DSM5 feature is helpful.

Cons

Customizing existing intake forms was somewhat challenging and clients often struggle to find specific items on the portal which can be improved for userfriendliness.
