Flawless and fantastically simple

Pros

You know, I actually don't mind patient data entry at all. I've gotten to the point where it feels like second nature, I can get it done efficiently and keep everything organized without breaking a sweat.

Cons

No problems to report at the moment. It is working well.

Simple But Sessions End Too Soon

Pros

Navigation through the system is really simple and easy to learn. It also reliably flags duplicate charts which is handy. The option to remove entries before billing is useful. Staff often enter wrong dates so being able to delete and correct the date for small errors is a big help.

Cons

Session timeout is too short, it would help if it gave more time between logouts. The client portal can be awkward to use. Plus about every other week it refuses to load even after we clear the browser history.

I am impressed by how promptly the staff reply to my inquiries.

Cons

Unable to get denied and/or rejected claims resubmitted through the staff. I believe the team should also take care of refiling those on our behalf.

Pros

It is really easy to find patient records, generate reports and rebill insurance claims.

Cons

When audited, insurers often ask for medical notes covering certain date ranges. It'd be great to be able to export notes in bulk instead of downloading each note individually.

My overall experience with Checkpoint has been defined by its simplicity, it's a powerful system that remains refreshingly easy and simple to operate.

Cons

The recent diagnosis changes are annoying, you can't add end dates to diagnoses in the new setup anymore.

Review of Checkpoint EHR

Pros

I met the team at a conference; they were very knowledgeable. Their customer service has been top-notch since I purchased the software. I have never had an issue, and they help me solve any problems. They continually upgrade and improve the software.

Cons

At first, it took a little getting used to it. However, it did not take long and I was up and running. I do wish it had a HIPAA-compliant video platform as part of the package so that it was all integrated.

great system when updates work well

Pros

The EHR is really easy to use overall. It isn't cluttered with unnecessary screens or features. The reporting tools are excellent. Overall it ranks among the top EHRs I've worked with in my career, maybe even the best I've tried. The team constantly rolls out updates and acts on feedback from those who use it daily, making improvements based on suggestions.

Cons

They often push updates that remove or alter features which we found user-friendly and that used to work well, making workflows a bit more complex. Some updates cause glitches where certain entries won't save. Lately when opening documents in the viewer many files display as strange symbols instead of readable text, though they look fine after downloading so uploaded documents often can't be read in place. This slows us down and forces extra steps in our daily workflow. After the last change to document opening we've had to download most files just to read them.
