missing fee schedule search

Pros

It includes the tools needed to run a clinic especially reporting and practice management. It also works well for multi-disciplinary practices, connects the front and back office with management functions and comes with helpful marketing features.

Cons

One thing that's missing is a search option in the Fee Schedule. In the Charges section, the Find button should display the fee tied to each charge and it would be much better if linking a task to a patient in Task Manager automatically created a TASKS button in the patient's information.

faster charting with SOAP templates

Pros

The SOAP note tools, along with how simple it is to build and use templates, make visit documentation much faster and help our office run more efficiently throughout the day.

Cons

At times, the connection and loading speed can be slow. Also, one user can't be signed in on multiple screens at the same time.

organized workflow and useful reports

Pros

Patient information is quick to locate and the reports give us the details we actually need. As we've learned the system better, it has felt more organized and efficient. It also cuts down on the number of steps compared with the program we were using before.

Cons

A few areas have been difficult to work out especially the insurance file and locating certain reports. The program took some time to learn and we ended up calling support quite a bit for smaller issues. Some updates can be confusing too. Another frustrating part is that when a patient has fully paid their account, a balance will sometimes still appear. Thankfully, customer support was able to help us sort that out.

streamlined notes and billing

Pros

Handling notes, billing charges and diagnosis entries is very easy and efficient which makes daily documentation much easier to manage.

Cons

Customer support could still be better since the service side seems like it has room for improvement.

Great tools, limited reporting

Pros

ChiroTouch brings a lot together in one system, covering provider charting, front desk scheduling, online forms, iPad check-in and billing support. On top of that the customer service has been really good.

Cons

We're still using version 6 and it doesn't look very appealing so I am definitely hoping version 7 is an improvement. Reporting is also pretty restrictive because you can only use the reports they provide, with no option to customize the fields you want included. The case manager isn't integrated well enough to be truly helpful for multi-disciplinary practices. Since our D.C.s bill PT codes for soft-tissue work, we end up having to book two separate appointments under different cases just to collect the correct deductibles and related charges. We've also run into issues whenever Windows pushes an update and after the January update, we still haven't been able to use ScanSnap.

constant delays and billing headaches

Pros

Being web-based and built specifically for chiropractic practices is helpful and the templates/macros are a useful feature.

Cons

Using it has been frustrating because it runs very slowly and the blue loading circle seems to spin forever. System maintenance also happens during hours when I am still working, like 11 PM to 1 AM which is incredibly inconvenient. There's no direct technical support so when I had an employee leave and needed to shut off access immediately, I couldn't get that done. Being told to submit a ticket in situations like that is not helpful at all. There are also too many areas that can affect billing. If anything is missing anywhere, it will not move to ready-to-bill status and that has cost me a significant amount of money. On top of that whoever set up my software added a doctor who does not even work at my clinic and when I reported it, I was again told to create a ticket. There are also far too many screens to click through just to get things done.

user-friendly and efficient

Pros

Everything about it is very easy to use which makes day to day tasks much more manageable.

Cons

One issue comes up when the copay is higher than the insurance allowable. Instead of using the lower fee, the system charges the patient the higher copay. Because of that, we have to manually remove the copay so the balance due defaults to the allowable amount. The downside is that when we're doing a re-exam, the copay is no longer visible for quick reference which can lead to collecting the wrong copay or forgetting to collect it altogether.

fantastic for multi-provider clinics

Pros

Using ChiroTouch has not been a problem. It handles multiple providers well, taking payments is simple and the overall functionality works really well for our needs.

Cons

I'd still like to see more options available in the ledger statements and billing statements sections.

user-friendly scheduling tools

Pros

Scheduling patients with this software is really easy. It's very user friendly and getting new employees trained on it doesn't take much time.

Cons

Customer support is usually available which helps but the quality isn't always consistent. At times, the support team doesn't fully understand the issue being explained and that can make communication frustrating.

terrible implementation and support

Pros

Honestly there's nothing positive I can say about it. If negative ratings were an option, that's what I'd choose.

Cons

Everything about it was awful, from the initial implementation all the way to the struggle of trying to reach customer service.

clean layout and easy navigation

Pros

The interface has a really appealing look and getting around the system is not a problem at all. It works especially well if you prefer having your tasks and information organized across separate screens or windows.

Cons

Customer support has been inconsistent which can be frustrating. It's also limiting that intake forms can't be fully created or edited to match the needs of the practice and seeing a patient's full care picture requires switching between different accounts like Cash, Insurance and Pre-Pay.

powerful features and customization

Pros

Packed with features, ChiroTouch can deliver a huge amount of information when used by someone who knows the system well. With enough time, testing and effort, it can also be customized quite a bit to fit specific needs.

Cons

At the same time some parts of the software feel overly automated. It will try to auto-fill certain charge and payment details but if a service or charge has been written off before, there's a risk it will keep automatically writing off that same charge every time it's entered on that account later. There's also a very risky option where checking a single box can delete all scanned files in one account and replace them with records from another account using the use other patient's records setting. Since actions like these can have major consequences and there's no undo option, fixing mistakes can take a lot of extra work. Features like this also make training new staff on it more stressful and error-prone.

customizable setup I enjoy

Pros

One thing I really appreciate is how much you can customize, from the SOAP notes to pretty much everything else in between.

Cons

A frustrating downside is that I can't print the billing statement which means I am unable to submit it to insurance for review.

billing issues outweigh usability

Pros

Getting around the program is fairly easy and there's some room to customize it, even though that part can be tricky at times. Visually, it's comfortable to look at but beyond that it doesn't offer a whole lot more.

Cons

The pricing is too high and cancelling services has been a nightmare. I was charged for 10 straight months for a product I had already cancelled. I called multiple times trying to fix it but kept getting sent in circles with no real resolution. The annual customer service fee is also overpriced especially since you'll probably end up needing support if you buy it. On top of that this tool not being able to separate providers properly when billing caused problems with insurance companies. If I hadn't been able to prove it was a tools issue, I would have been forced to pay back thousands of dollars in insurance checks.

fast notes, frustrating support gaps

Pros

Creating notes is pretty easy and detailed and once the system becomes familiar, the workflow moves very quickly. The reporting tools are also really decent and make self-auditing much more manageable. On top of that the phone support team is excellent.

Cons

Support through its community can be hit or miss and is often frustrating. They don't seem to listen as well as the phone team and their skill level or product knowledge doesn't always match up. There are times when it feels like I understand the problem better than they do. The phone support is excellent but getting someone on the line can sometimes take a while. When something needs immediate attention and the community team can't resolve it, that delay becomes really frustrating.

worth every penny

Pros

From chart notes and accounting to EHR and customizable hot buttons, everything in this software works together in a way that really puts you at ease. Other programs we tested felt confusing and disconnected but ChiroTouch makes the whole workflow feel much more connected. The vendor has also been honest and transparent and they genuinely seem interested in hearing about issues and improving the program. We've been able to tailor it to fit our mostly cash-based wellness clinic and sending out billing usually takes only about 10 minutes unless I need to fix the errors the system catches for me. It fits our small clinic really well. I spend around five hours a week handling the books and billing and then I can move on to my actual professional work. The doctor even manages check-in, chart notes and scheduling on her own which frees up a lot of her time too.

Cons

The only real downside is the price. I tried free options and cheaper software at the start but this really turned out to be one of those situations where you get exactly what you pay for. We're now in our fifth year using it and it has absolutely been a worthwhile investment. Beyond the cost, I honestly don't have any real complaints. It's been an excellent fit for our clinic.

perfect fit for our office

Pros

Our office has been using ChiroTouch since around 2007 and it has honestly been the right fit for us. The system is user-friendly, new staff can be trained on it without much trouble and it covers what I need as the office manager. I also appreciate that it keeps evolving and offers more customization over time to match the needs of our practice.

Cons

There really is not much for me to complain about right now. If I had to point out one thing, it would be the annual support fee. That is really my only issue and honestly nobody is excited about paying annual support fees.
