Exceptional customer service sets it apart...

Pros

I really value the LIVE customer support from my account manager, who is an actual human! They've made it easy for me to navigate the platform whenever I get stuck. Plus they are always available, responsive, patient and helpful. Laslty the available user guide is another great resource.

Cons

I wish the platform offered more features to improve the client and provider experience, like https://www.teleo.space/ or a note designer. Plus I am not too fond of the current treatment notes template and would prefer something similar to NoteDesigner with more options for sentence completion and treatment modalities. It would also be helpful to have mini-tutorials for using the platform more efficiently, as I do not always have time to consult the user guide. For instance, I did like to know how to send an announcement to selected clients rather than everyone. Additionally, it would be great to include hyperlinks in documents sent to clients and to have a schedule send option for emails and pre-scheduled announcements about practice changes or new services. A feature that notifies clients about my social media or new website posts via CounSol would also enhance client engagement, retention and education. Regarding the client view, while I like the color scheme matching my website, it looks outdated and could benefit from more modern, professional visuals to improve the client experience.

Reliable software

Pros

Visually, it is very easy for me to find everything and navigate through my portal. I also like having my rate locked in so it won't change. Plus the customer service is unbeatable. My special thanks to them as they always assist us timely.

Simple yet powerful for various needs

My clients really enjoy using the client portal for online scheduling and I love that I can keep all of my client records in one place. Also the CounSol staff has always been very responsive whenever I reached out to them.

Cons

Excellent for forms and record-keeping

Cons

We trusted it for privacy.

Pros

With CounSol, I now have a safe and secure space to handle my notes, sessions and even clients communications. Plus the support staff is amazing too, as they are very helpful.

Cons

Best investment for my private practice...

Pros

Onboarding new patients is so easy with all the forms and disclosures I need and several customized assessments that I rely on. Even my elderly patients have no trouble accessing the portal and filling out the intake forms. I also really like how simple it is to submit insurance claims and keep track of payments received. The customer service is amazing too as whenever I have an inquiry, a real person responds quickly. And most of my questions get answered through a quick email, but it is also easy to reach to them by phone.

Cons

The interface is not as good as of some competitors but the good thing about it is that it is very easy to read and navigate.

Cons

One thing I've noticed is that the video feature cannot expand to cover multiple locations. For example, if a couple lives in two different homes, it does not seem to work for them to join the same session from separate places.

Using it for over a decade and is very happy

Pros

CounSol is very easy to use. Also I can do my progress notes, have clients fill out forms and sign them online, send encrypted emails and even use secure video for telehealth sessions.

Cons

Sometimes, the telehealth video is not clear though I am not sure if it's the platform's fault. Also, I cannot amend progress notes if needed.

Offers the best assistance...

Pros

What I like most is that I'm used to it and also it is easier for me to navigate compared to other EHRs I have tried. I also really like how easy it is to reach out for help and get quick answers when I need them. Plus, I love that I can easily see stats right on the main practice page.

Cons

Truly amazing...

Pros

Since I'm not very tech-savvy, having good support is important for me. And the best thing about CounSol is that the account manager assign to me has been absolutely wonderful as he gives me information in small amounts, is patient and is both professional and very helpful.

Private practice made easy with it

Pros

I like how efficient and easy CounSol software is to use. Plus whether I'm on my phone or computer, I can access everything pretty easily. Moreover their customer support is outstanding too.

Cons

Managing multiple rates for my client database is a bit tricky. But the good thing is that when I needed help from customer support, Josh took the time to assist me.

Loaded with the best features

Pros

One thing I really like about it is that it offers a variety of features like journals, billing and monthly payments. All these are proven to be very beneficial for both therapists and clients.

Cons

Navigating the system is a bit difficult. After using it for a while, I still find it challenging to access tabs quickly. It would also be great to have an app for the platform. Additionally, I did love to offer the link to multiple clients who are not in the same location.

I love Counsol!

Pros

I love being able to send new and returning clients a link to schedule their sessions, communicate with my billing professional, co-manage billing and schedule appointments. Every morning, I can easily see who I will be meeting that day. CounSol makes everything so easy for me!

Cons

For virtual sessions, I frequently encounter connection and sound issues. More often than not, we end up using another product.

Could improve email program

Pros

Its so easy to use for managing my client workload, documentation and billing.

Cons

The email program lacks advanced features like different fonts, underlining, bolding and italicizing text. Additionally, when there are multiple emails from a client, the program does not highlight the last one read which makes it hard to identify which email to read next.

Excellent Therapist Platform

Pros

Customer service is excellent! Whenever I have a question, customer support team member is available or calls me back the same day. The platform keeps my clients and billing organized and sends session reminders to them.

Cons

It seems like CounSol has been thoughtfully designed and may have more complexity or features than I use. This is not an issue since help is available if I need assistance or want to explore new features.

Satisfied enough

Pros

It's fairly user-friendly and my account manager provided a lot of help when I was getting started.

Cons

After years of using the service, I have noticed there have not been many updates to its functionality. I question why I am paying the same monthly subscription fee without seeing improvements. However, this seems to be a common issue with any EHR.

Very Happy with Counsol!

Cons

Happy I made the choice to use CounSol!

Pros

I really like all the different options to create my own templates and all the features available. I also love that I can keep all my communication with clients through CounSol and that it is HIPAA secure.

Cons

Some of the calendar features and code/cost assignments can be confusing. However, the positives, like client reminder options, outweigh the negatives so I stick to the features I understand and that add value to my practice.

Excellent support

Pros

The system alerts me if I am about to double book! My manager provides amazing support and is very responsive.

Cons

I did like to see additional forms like the PHQ-9 and other free screenings/scales for anxiety, depression and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale. Also, the price could be improved.

Counsol Review

Pros

It is easy to use and clients find the portal super user-friendly. They can come back to complete new forms as needed and handle their own payments. The standard reminder texts are helpful and payment through Square is seamless.

Cons

The main payment option CounSol uses seems shady and has added unnecessary charges to my account. Their customer service was not great. Switching to Square was the best decision I made and Square should be the primary payment option.

Great Customer Service & Customizable

Pros

The customer service is excellent. I always communicate with the same person and whenever I have a question, they respond quickly and are always friendly.

Cons

Far Exceeds the Rest!

Pros

I love the personal touch and having LIVE customer service unlike almost every other counseling EHR service out there.

Cons

I have not found much to dislike about CounSol. The only issue I have had is getting them to add a fee to cover credit card transactions. I understand this requires programming effort, so its not a huge deal.

A very good service, but could be better

Pros

I really enjoy being able to customize my dashboard. When I log in, I only see what I need, nothing more. Once you get used to it, scheduling sessions becomes a hassle free task. The Stripe connection simplifies payments and sending multiple reminders is convenient (though anything beyond one costs extra). My experiences with customer service have been positive as they were always friendly and helpful.

Cons

The lack of 2-way calendar integration is a major drawback. I have scheduled clients over personal events because I cannot block off event times. Not having Zoom integration is also a hassle. It adds extra steps that aren't ideal. I tried their video software but 4 out of 5 clients had issues. Charging extra for a second or third email reminder seems excessive; its a necessary service no matter what plan you are on. Adding a new service involves too many steps to get the scheduler to recognize and schedule it. It would be better if it were more streamlined. Also, manually adding each service code is tedious. A master code for each client would be more efficient, allowing changes to be made in one place.

I believe the list of forms in the client portal could use some improvement, as clients often get confused about which optional forms, like the Release of Information, they need to complete. CounSol for 11 years: great from individual therapist to group practice

Pros

CounSol is unique because of the dedicated customer service helper who responds very quickly. I like that we can create as many custom forms as we want and use the features to assign forms and documents. The transparent pricing is great and since we do not pay per client, its very cost-effective for a growing practice. Our clients love the portal and we find the journal system especially helpful for those who want to communicate without requiring a response (we respond to messages). The portal is also useful for emailing clients. The billing system works well too. Honestly, we pretty much like everything.

Cons

I find that CounSol has a somewhat dated appearance but the features are excellent and the interface is easy to navigate.

CounSol User and Administrator for over 2+ Years

Pros

The reports it generates are great and the customer service is efficient and fast. It handles appointment scheduling, manages billing needs and provides clients with superbills through their own portal.

Cons

My experience with CardConnects customer service has been disappointing recently. When I first started using CounSol over five years ago, their service was top-notch, which made partnering with CardConnect seem like a great choice. However, in the past year, I have had issues with not receiving payouts from the merchant processor. The customer service calls have been frustrating due to loud environments and representatives who do not speak English clearly which makes it difficult to resolve problems and communicate effectively. They often repeat what I say and put me on hold and I get no clear answers about why the deposits are missing. This situation undermines my trust in the reliability of deposits.

Pros

Great for Mental Health Practice

Pros

CounSol works better than any other EHR I have used, even at agencies that spent a fortune customizing their EHR systems. Its user-friendly, intuitive and the customer service team is very responsive. They solve any issue I have or direct me to the right place. I am very satisfied with CounSol and highly recommend it.

Cons

My only issue is that I sometimes have difficulty understanding and using all the features, especially when it comes to labeling billing.

Love the ease and customer service

Pros

I have a customer service contact I can email whenever I have an issue or question. When I first started, I was emailing him daily while learning the software. Now, after three years, its only occasional, but he still responds quickly to every question. I like that I can use CounSol on any platform, and its adaptable to my practice needs. I like the integrated email, televideo platform (though it is not ideal with unstable internet) and billing/insurance claims.

Cons

The clearinghouse is Ally, which has a smaller share of the insurance market. I can still submit claims, but I have to pay $35 a month if submitting more claims to non-participating insurances. To work around this, I create paper claims in Counsol and use portals like Availity or submit directly to Optum. The billing portion took me a while to learn and I still encounter some issues, but those are due to input errors rather than the programming.
