Pros

I like the user-friendly interface and the fantastic customer support.

Cons

I believe the list of forms in the client portal could use some improvement, as clients often get confused about which optional forms, like the Release of Information, they need to complete. It would be helpful to have interactive forms where clients answer a few basic questions, which then determine which additional forms are required.

CounSol for 11 years: great from individual therapist to group practice

Pros

CounSol is unique because of the dedicated customer service helper who responds very quickly. I like that we can create as many custom forms as we want and use the features to assign forms and documents. The transparent pricing is great and since we do not pay per client, its very cost-effective for a growing practice. Our clients love the portal and we find the journal system especially helpful for those who want to communicate without requiring a response (we respond to messages). The portal is also useful for emailing clients. The billing system works well too. Honestly, we pretty much like everything.

Cons

I find that CounSol has a somewhat dated appearance but the features are excellent and the interface is easy to navigate.

CounSol User and Administrator for over 2+ Years

Pros

The reports it generates are great and the customer service is efficient and fast. It handles appointment scheduling, manages billing needs and provides clients with superbills through their own portal.

Cons

My experience with CardConnects customer service has been disappointing recently. When I first started using CounSol over five years ago, their service was top-notch, which made partnering with CardConnect seem like a great choice. However, in the past year, I have had issues with not receiving payouts from the merchant processor. The customer service calls have been frustrating due to loud environments and representatives who do not speak English clearly which makes it difficult to resolve problems and communicate effectively. They often repeat what I say and put me on hold and I get no clear answers about why the deposits are missing. This situation undermines my trust in the reliability of deposits.

Pros

I have integrated video sessions, scheduled appointments, completed documentation, handled billing and accepted client payments all on one platform. Its pretty easy to use and HIPAA compliant.

Cons

I cannot bill through the system for some providers.

Great for Mental Health Practice

Pros

CounSol works better than any other EHR I have used, even at agencies that spent a fortune customizing their EHR systems. Its user-friendly, intuitive and the customer service team is very responsive. They solve any issue I have or direct me to the right place. I am very satisfied with CounSol and highly recommend it.

Cons

My only issue is that I sometimes have difficulty understanding and using all the features, especially when it comes to labeling billing.

CounSol has earned my trust and business!

Pros

Excellent customer service and support, easy to navigate features, simple form and paperwork updates, secure client messaging center and a secure client portal thats very convenient for clients to use.

Cons

The treatment planner software has an additional cost, as does using the video telehealth platform. Colleagues who use this platform for telehealth have been dissatisfied with the quality.

Pros

The value for the cost of this software was a major factor in my decision. It is also easy to use. Some features could use updates but overall, I am very happy with it.

Cons

I wish there were more reporting options for administrators, like the ability to search for incomplete progress notes.

Love the ease and customer service

Pros

I have a customer service contact I can email whenever I have an issue or question. When I first started, I was emailing him daily while learning the software. Now, after three years, its only occasional, but he still responds quickly to every question. I like that I can use CounSol on any platform, and its adaptable to my practice needs. I like the integrated email, televideo platform (though it is not ideal with unstable internet) and billing/insurance claims.

Cons

The clearinghouse is Ally, which has a smaller share of the insurance market. I can still submit claims, but I have to pay $35 a month if submitting more claims to non-participating insurances. To work around this, I create paper claims in Counsol and use portals like Availity or submit directly to Optum. The billing portion took me a while to learn and I still encounter some issues, but those are due to input errors rather than the programming.

Strong in Confidentiality and Customer Support - A bit Antiquated

Pros

The customer support is amazing and the cost is lower than most competitors. I have not had any concerns with HIPAA compliance, meeting ethical standards on confidentiality or price gouging that I have encountered with other competitors. Managing client files is also easy.

Cons

The platform looks outdated and clients find the portal less appealing because it feels dated. I also wish there were easier ways to incorporate assessments into client files.

The Real Deal

Pros

The functionality of this product is great. It handles everything I need. The customer support is excellent and customer support representative regularly assists with fixing my mistakes or helping me change things and do them differently. I definitely recommend CounSol to other therapists.

Cons

I wish there were a mobile app for my phone. Additionally, the televideo component did not work well for me due to my rural location and poor internet service, so I decided to switch to a different platform.

Ease of use and great customer service!

Pros

I loved how easy this EHR service was to use. Whenever I had an issue, like needing the service but having to go part-time, their customer service was amazingly flexible. It felt like I was dealing with people who truly cared.

I love CounSol!

Pros

As a small practice owner, I have had an excellent experience using CounSol. I have a small team, including staff and interns and teaching them how to use CounSol has been easy. I am also constantly discovering new features I did not realize were available!

Cons

Pros

What I like the most about CounSol.com is its high level of encryption and that I can type my notes during a session with a client which saves me hours of time.

Cons

What I liked least was having to manually enter all my forms into the system. However, once everything was entered, the system became very easy to use.

Pros

Although setting it up took a bit of time, my favorite thing about CounSol is how customizable the platform is. It provides an easy way to manage everything for my practice, from intake forms to uploaded patient documents and notes. I also like how user-friendly the platform is. My virtual admin finds it one of the easiest EHRs to use right away.

Cons

The aspect I like least is that customizing things takes some time. While its not a major issue, there is a learning curve to creating the custom forms I needed. Once I figured it out, it was not a problem and my assigned IT person made it easy to resolve any issues. He has been very helpful and accessible.
