Learning this software was very easy. The available choices and its setup were also simple. The prompt support from the team and the abundance of video/online assistance made it a cinch.

Fantastic solution for managing dentist operations

Curve Dental streamlines dental operations smoothly, eliminating scheduling woes, saving time and money, and reducing headaches.

Cons

Curve Dental operates on the cloud which means there is a chance of disconnection and uncertain operations. It would be beneficial to have an on premise option as well.

The software impressive capability to provide cloud based visibility and support multiple locations caught my attention. It was also convenient to navigate and personalize with just a few clicks. Furthermore, the customer service was exceptional, always responsive and helpful.

Customer Service is Slow if you have Billing Questions
Pros

The cost was reasonable which was a major factor for me. The setup process was also simple and it was effortless for the staff to grasp how to utilize Curve.

Cons

Contacting the billing department is nearly impossible. When I called I was directed to leave a voicemail and it took 24 hours for them to respond (but miraculously they did after I mentioned my experience on social media). Updating credit card information online results in automatic charges in US dollars. Apparently Canadians are expected to find some fine print that states "Canadians must call to update expired credit card numbers" I missed this detail and ended up paying in US dollars for months, only realizing the increased fee of $200/month due to the exchange rate. It is hard to believe that a software developer can't come up with a better solution such as providing different icons for customers of different countries to update their credit card information. The process of reaching the billing department is frustratingly time consuming. Curve would benefit from more folder functionality, especially for long term patients who accumulate numerous letters for scanned items like insurance responses, estimates, and medical history. After a few years it becomes challenging to locate specific letters among hundreds. Additionally when the internet or Curve experiences downtime, it becomes problematic as there is no access to patient notes or medical history.

Pros

The softwares capability to access the cloud and accommodate multiple locations was truly remarkable. I found it fantastic how easy it was to click and customize everything. The customer service was outstanding, always providing prompt responses.

Cons

The cost was very high and they charged for every additional feature on top of the monthly fee. Adding a new doctor to the practice or having an extra user acquired extra costs. While this software seemed technologically advanced with its cloud capabilities and modern customization options, it lacked development in terms of management and report usage. Billing was confusing, and providing accurate quotes and collecting payments proved nearly impossible.

Great Software and love it.
Pros

The ease of use is out class. It is very intuitive and everything flows smoothly mainly when it comes to letters and notes.

Cons

The perio charting feature is confusing, inaccurate and does not meet industry standards. As a Periodontist, it is embarrassing to use this feature and share it with general dentists. Despite requesting changes, modifications and corrections to align it with industry standards, no improvements have been made.

A Hopeful Future
Pros

The software has a modern and sleek interface. It surpasses server based programs and offers superior stability. Not having to worry about a server has been a great relief. The treatment planning feature is excellent, as are most aspects for clinicians. While not flawless, the constant updates are highly appreciated.

Cons

The software needs improvement in terms of details. It lacks detailed dental practice management functionality. The available pie and bar graphs are essentially useless as they don't provide meaningful insights or link to relevant information. The entire interface is a bit confusing. Integrating information similar to what Dental Intel provides would be a game changer for Curve. Other aspects of the program still feel like a work in progress. It would be beneficial to have better support for Fee for Service offices. Moreover, it would be great if the full site access were available on iPads instead of the limited mobile version, or even better, if there was an iPad app.

I like how easy it is for different staff members to use. The appointment scheduling and check out processes are quick for the front desk and the integrations flow smoothly and effortlessly.

Cons

The X ray automation process is very troublesome. The indication for the head of the household in relation to billing is a bit confusing too. Notes that are not written on the same day are recorded as if they were. Frequent updates with Curve Capture often disrupt our X ray workflow when we need it the most.

Pros

We have been using Curve for many years. Its easy to use, and the customer service is exceptional. They have made updates and introduced new features such as reminders, which we really like having in one comprehensive product. Additionally we can now customize and add notes to treatment plans which is fantastic!

Pros

Sending forms to patients is very simple with Curve. Using Gro for sending text messages to patients is also user friendly.

Cons

There are multiple missing features that could enhance the software. Over the past two years I have provided numerous suggestions but none of them have been implemented yet. It doesn't seem logical to have a debit and credit on the same account simultaneously. I struggled initially when trying to learn Curve but eventually grasped it. However, the recent changes in billing have made it challenging to read. It would be helpful if these changes were optional.

I like being able to customize shortcut buttons for charting and find it easy to view claims and add items to patient files and letters in their charts.

Cons

Pros

The charting, patient communication, and reporting features are outstanding. I sm also thrilled that I can access patient charts, x rays and reports from my phone anywhere, anytime.

Cons

The transition from billing and accounts receivable was a bit difficult. It took time to master insurance billing leading to delays in insurance reimbursement. It is important to be financially prepared before making the switch.

Pros

I find the visual layout of the schedule to be great and it is easy to schedule patients. Treatment planning and charting are simple as well.

Cons

Our front desk staff is currently facing difficulties with the practice management software, insurance processing and generating reports. I desire larger patient photos and the ability to capture and store cone beams within Curve. However the imaging software in Curve falls short compared to Dexis especially for capturing bitewings.

Absolutely love Curve!
Pros

We are thrilled with Curves versatility as it caters to most of our dental practice needs. From messaging patients and accepting online payments to scheduling, claims and insurance verification, Curve covers it all. Moreover, they make it effortless to connect with a real person whenever assistance is required.

Cons

We have suggested a couple of features to Curve and they have been responsive in implementing them. These include the ability to create forms in languages other than English, particularly Spanish as we have Spanish speaking patients. Additionally Curve should have the capability to generate CMS-1500 forms for medical insurance as we currently rely on external software for this purpose.

Curve has been an asset to our office
Pros

Curve is very user friendly and is easy to use. The frequent system updates make it even easier and the customer service is exceptional. I truly feel they listen to their customers. It did take a little time to adjust to Curve since we were transitioning from paper charts and had no prior experience with electronic charting.

Cons

The billing module and statements could benefit from an update. They are difficult to read and understand for patients.

Curve is very much easy to use. The transition was smooth and I appreciate the constant improvements. The additional features like hands free perio charting, credit card point of sale and electronic claim submission are fantastic.

Cons

It would be highly beneficial for us to have a Spanish option for patient reminders. In addition the measurement tool in the imaging feature is not very accurate and the imaging itself loads slowly.

The why and why not's about Curve
Pros

I am not entirely sure but The software isn't bad. still I feel it should offer more options for customizing each practice's needs.

Cons

The integration process was not simple as it should. When we brought over balances from our old software as "converted balances" we weren't adequately informed about how it would affect insurance claims. Updating imaging is always problematic with frequent updates. The accounting aspect remains challenging, especially with a "running balance" even when the balance is zero. There are issues with insurance processing and claims such as placing the Subscriber ID where the social security number should be on printed claims. Despite reaching out multiple times, this issue hasn't been resolved. I requested an update to download all X-rays at once for emailing to another provider but it is only possible when they are in a mount, not individually.

The customer service is outstanding. Whenever the dental team has a question, they can easily find answers in the Curve Community. The instructions are clear and provide step by step guidance. We also love the fact that this software is cloud based. As we travel to school based dental clinics throughout SE Minnesota, we can access patient charts from any location within our outreach program.

The software itself is user friendly and very easy to navigate. Any issue we have encountered has been promptly resolved within a day. The addition of Curve GRO has been a lifesaver as it eliminated the need to double notate everything in correspondence with our old program. The ability to edit and create different reports has greatly aided in business analysis and patient management.

Cons

I wish there was a way to make certain fields of patient forms "required" and it would be helpful if self scheduling could be based on a block of rooms rather than just one room. We often overlap and forget to block off the room it pulls from.

Curve is a fantastic software for practices with multiple locations. It simplifies management across all locations and the reporting on a daily, weekly and monthly basis is streamlined.

Cons

It would be great if they do something to make it more pediatric and ortho friendly. Having options like "mother" and "father" instead of just "contact" or "patient" would be fantastic. Reports need to be adjusted to exclude parents from active patient counts. A payment plan option would be beneficial. Ideally the software should cater to both pediatric and ortho practices but at the very least, it should allow the setup of payment plans for ortho contracts, which is currently not offered. As a result we have to use separate software foreach specialty, which is less than ideal.

Integration was seamless and data transfer was flawless. In the beginning I had reservations about using cloud software but it turned out to be fantastic! The support provided is exceptional and they genuinely listen to suggestions and implement them to enhance the software.

Pros

The support and training provided by Curve team are exceptional. They are always available and even have a ticket system within the software for non urgent issues, questions or suggestions. I wish more companies did this. I also like their inclusive claims management and reasonable pricing for the features, which is actually lower than what I used to pay for my previous "#1 industry leading software" that required piecing together similar features. Transitions are always challenging but Curve ensured our success, and I'm amazed by the frequent and impactful software updates they provide (monthly) at no additional cost. I suspect some legacy software vendors don't offer this because updating every server and workstation can be a hassle (time consuming, frustrating, and often results in post update issues). Curve eliminates all these problems by updating seamlessly in the background, making the new features "magically" available without requiring my time to manually update each station. Time and frustration are saved with Curve.

Cons

The clinical notes are reasonable and it is possible to create templates. However I wish there was more flexibility in creating response based templates. It is a minor concern of ours

While Curve has many useful features I do find the way families are linked could be improved. There should be an option to add notes that apply to all families if relevant. A pop up feature for all families would be beneficial as well.

Cons

There is a lack of family unity within the software and when I reach out for help I often receive responses indicating that they are still working on it. I don't see issues being resolved anytime soon.

Decent product for multiple practices but it definitely has its flaws

It is easy to use and the Sidekick and Curve Gro reminders along with two way texting are its standout features. Transitioning with patients was effortless even thoughs it did take some time to sort through all the patient records.

Cons

Unfortunately, there is no mobile app for curve dentists and I can only view my schedule without the ability to move appointments. When I first switched over, I encountered difficulties integrating credit card payments (both physical terminal and E portal) with the software. After six months and trying four different credit card terminals, I gave up and started using other vendors, manually inputting the payment into the ledgers. This renders the patient portal almost useless because patients want the convenience of paying their bills online. The other features of the portal are merely superficial. Additionally, I can only use one sensor at a time.

This product is very intuitive and easy to train novice users. It has a user friendly interface that is visually simple and approachable.

Cons

The reporting functionality is flawed and slow. The reporting module lacks the ability to filter reports before running them. This becomes a significant issue when dealing with large database, as the report times out before it even loads. It's an incredibly cumbersome process. Additionally it would be helpful to have a report description or preview before running it, to avoid wasting time on incorrect data.

The non availability of a phone app makes it a bit hard to use on mobile devices. I can't copy and paste notes which is very frustrating. Technical support keeps providing workarounds instead of solutions. The invoice system is confusing and it doesn't integrate well with out of network offices. The integration with Weave is poor.

Great software on the cloud
Pros

This software is easy to learn and user friendly. Both my staff and I quickly adapted to using it.

Cons

We would like better communication during outages. When the server was down we had limited information and no idea when to expect it to function again.
