“widely used and capable”
Pros
It handles the core parts of running a dental practice well. I can manage scheduling, post payments, monitor production and take care of the everyday basics. Since so many other dental offices already use it, training new staff tends to be easier. It's also convenient when requesting x-rays from another office that uses Dentrix because the interface between systems is familiar and simple to work with.
Cons
It is not as user-friendly as some other dental practice management software. It's also less easy than Eaglesoft.

“smooth integrations and charting”
Pros
Using it has been really helpful because it connects well with other programs like Dexis and Yapi which makes the transition between different office tasks much more organized. The charting feature is also very convenient especially for tooth numbering, charting and putting together treatment plans.
Cons
Every time it rolls out an update something seems to break. Right now, we're running into a problem where we can't mass invalidate tooth conditions and according to the Dentrix rep, the only option at the moment is to wait until another update comes out.

Pros
Something it does offer is a fair amount of customization although the experience feels inconsistent from one use to the next.
Cons
The interface isn't very user friendly and comes across as outdated especially when compared with Open Dental and Eaglesoft. It also doesn't handle the same functions as efficiently or as simply.

One of the best parts is being able to see so much information all from a single screen which makes everything feel more convenient.
Cons
It does take a little while in the beginning to get comfortable with how the software works.

“fantastic fit for dental offices”
Pros
Performs really well for dental offices and has the features we need. The system is very user-friendly and the support team has been excellent every time I've reached out. Whenever I've needed help, they've had the answer right away and I haven't been stuck waiting on hold just to get through to someone.
Cons
My only complaint is that there aren't many options for entering checks or electronic checks. It would be better if there were more posting options available.

Pros
Training my front desk team on it didn't take much effort and we've stuck with it for the last 15 years through at least four different versions of the software. The front office and back office features have both been very strong for us.
Cons
Weak spot is integration with software outside the Henry Schein ecosystem.

Pros
During a month of daily use as a locum tenens at another clinic, it was completely new to me but I got comfortable with it very quickly. Within just a few days and definitely in under a week, I felt proficient using it. It includes all the standard tools I'd expect for charting and clinical notes, such as a cartoon odontogram and a well-organized treatment planning/findings workflow. I was genuinely surprised by how quickly I was able to learn my way around it. The scheduling functions were also easy to work with. I didn't use the billing side so I can't comment on that.
Cons
I can't really say it's better or worse than other similar systems. It does what it's supposed to do and overall it's perfectly fine.

Pros
Charting tools have been really useful for evaluating patients' dental conditions. The system is fairly simple to navigate and I can quickly book appointments or check details from a patient's previous visits without much trouble.
Cons
When opening the clock icon it becomes slow. The interface also feels pretty bland in terms of color and I'd prefer being able to handle everything in one window instead of opening several just to note what's needed.

It covers most of the things we need and feels like an all-in-one solution for majority of our tasks.
Cons
There's a glitch in G7 only with the monthly goals feature where I have to manually enter zero for every provider who isn't part of production otherwise the month goal doesn't display correctly.

Works well with most programs I use, comes with a powerful set of features and the customer service behind it has been really dependable.
Cons
Having many separate windows for each component is frustrating. Because it has so many tools and features, navigation can feel a bit confusing and certain functions are harder to find or figure out than they should be. It would be better if the layout were more simplified or if there were a main contents window with links to sections like finances, patient images, charting and other areas.

Pros
Most of the tools a dental practice needs are present here. There is a bit of a learning difficulty at first but once you understand how it works, it becomes fairly easy and supports quality patient care well. It also feels like the software is being kept current with the features people need and with digital integration in mind.
Cons
Getting started is not completely simple and the dashboard can feel somewhat cluttered. After working through that initial learning phase though, it performs its job well.

A step up from Easy Dental overall. It offers more customization and far more practical, tailored reports for office managers. Since it's similar enough to Easy Dental, the transition was pretty smooth for the office. Its popularity also helps a lot with imaging devices since software support is strong.
Cons
The treatment note module could be more adaptive. Setting up templates for treatment notes can be frustrating at times.

Pros
Overall experience has been really positive from start to finish. The customer service is outstanding and there is always someone available when help is needed. Their user conference is also excellent and I really enjoy the chance to learn new things and connect with other users. I would definitely recommend attending it.
Cons
Updates can be slow to roll out. It is also tough when the response to problems we run into is simply that the system is 'working as designed.' I would also like it to be easier to create custom reports.
