“helpful scheduling and charting”
Pros
Booking appointments, managing the calendar and dental charting have all been really useful for me. The patient appointment confirmation feature also works well and adds a lot of value.
Cons
Communication option like WhatsApp integration is noticeably missing. It would also be better if it could connect with our X-ray imaging software.

“user-friendly for every age”
Pros
Even staff members who aren't comfortable with computers managed to get the hang of this without much trouble. Our older staff members were able to get the hang of it without much trouble.
Cons
Software could use more safeguards and verification steps to ensure charting, notes and other details are actually entered during office visits.

“helpful voice charting features”
Pros
Talk-to-text feature has been really useful for our hygienist during initial exams and we've also appreciated having the ability to calibrate our machines.
Cons
Adding a new machine or device isn't very handy and customer support has been just okay.

“updates are a big plus”
Pros
The software comes with ease of use and the frequent updates and bug fixes are a big plus. There are also multiple ways to complete the same task which makes it much easier to work in the style that fits us the best.
Cons
Better support for integrating different maximums and benefits is something worth adding. For example, it would help if the system could read added ortho benefits, rollover allowances and plans that don't count preventive care toward the maximum allowance.

“Quick onboarding experience”
Pros
Day-to-day use is handy and the onboarding process took very little time. The reports are excellent and there are plenty of options to work with.
Cons
At times, the updates can be a little tricky and I have to call support to get help with them.

“powerful scheduling and reports”
Pros
Scheduling works really well, the electronic features perform reliably and the reports provide us a lot of useful information.
Cons
I'd still like to see more reporting options and a bit more flexibility in that area. For example, it would be helpful to save reports directly after generating them and I'd also like more ways to customize additional reports. That said the current customization is still very efficient.

“user-friendly billing workflow”
Pros
Claims and billing management are easy to work with. The software is user-friendly overall and getting staff trained on it doesn't take us much effort.
Cons
X-ray uploading, loading and transferring is where the biggest frustration lies. The integration is really poor which is a serious problem in areas where sensitivity and accuracy matter a lot. There are also problems when multiple people have the same name.

“Flexible features for busy practices”
Pros
Patient charting and treatment planning are at the center of my daily workflow. In our office, my manager would probably say the eClaims and insurance verification tools matter just as much because they help keep the day running efficiently. As we move up to Optimum Pro, we're still discovering additional features, including automatic notifications and online bill pay. Another thing that helps is the range of service packages since you can tailor the setup to match both your budget and the features you need. Excellent product overall.
Cons
Some time is required to get used to it and if you're not already comfortable with the software, the sheer number of buttons and options can feel overwhelming. I'm pretty sure I only use about half of what's available. Proper training is really necessary to get the most out of it. Customer service is generally helpful but there are times when it takes a while to actually reach a live person for support.

“Helpful resources available”
Pros
This product is very user-friendly and there are online resources available to help us learn how to do almost anything with it.
Cons
We need to upgrade the program but before that can happen, our computer system has to be updated first and that's just not possible for us right now.

“open api flexibility”
Pros
Open-source API is something that really stood out about this app as it gives the tool a lot of flexibility and makes integrations much more convenient for me.
Cons
User experience still feels fairly weak though. Improving the UX would make a noticeable difference and could really enhance the overall patient experience.

“affordable fit for our dentists”
Pros
Pricing has been reasonable and the software is easy to install and use. Our dentists have also been happy with the current features and functions it offers.
Cons
Built-in reporting tools do the job to a point but we're looking at bringing in a third-party reporting solution to pull the reports needed for all local, state and federal health requirements.

“very user-friendly overall”
Pros
User-friendliness is where this software truly shines for me. It's simple to work with and doesn't feel complicated to explore.
Cons
When I'm posting insurance payments into the patient ledger, it won't allow it and says the patient's chart is open on another workstation even when that isn't actually true.

“wasted our time”
Pros
It's honestly difficult to point to many positives with this product. One small benefit is that it freed up some office space since we no longer have physical charts around.
Cons
After switching to a new phone, Dentrix ePrescribe stopped working for me because my phone is part of the two-step authentication needed to approve prescriptions. As a result, I haven't been able to authorize narcotic prescriptions for the past two weeks and patients in pain have gone without getting their medications filled during that time. I have called Dentrix literally every day trying to get this fixed and nothing has changed. Every call feels like Groundhog Day they walk me through the exact same steps again and again, with no resolution. I've lost hours and hours of work time dealing with this and the whole process has felt insulting. At this point, I'm tired of being treated like a fool and my focus now is to get management to move away from this platform as soon as possible.

“powerful all-in-one dental workflow”
Pros
Huge range of things this software can handle, from patient records and appointments to billing, treatment plans and communication is a big plus. I've worked in offices that really used this tool to its full potential and it did an excellent job of keeping the whole team aligned on patients, treatment and day-to-day workflow. It also works well because you can start with just a few functions and gradually use more features as you get more comfortable with it. It's flexible enough for both small and large offices and with proper training, it has been a very strong tool from my perspective as a hygienist.
Cons
Things can get messy pretty quickly when staff members don't fully understand how to use the software. For example, if patients aren't scheduled directly from the recall section in their chart, they may still appear on recall lists and get reminders saying they're due for an appointment. In some cases, they can even end up with multiple recalls if scheduling isn't handled correctly. The same goes for treatment plans if they aren't entered properly, scheduling details and cost estimates can end up being inaccurate.

“dentrix keeps getting better”
Pros
After using a different system years ago, I switched to this platform and have been really happy with that decision. They keep rolling out new and improved modules which shows they're continuing to invest in the product. Keep up the good work.
Cons
Not being able to fully take advantage of all the features this product offers has been a challenge. It would really help to have a simpler way to bring in and use new features without needing to hire a consultant every time.
