“Need more functions in Canada”

It is pretty user-friendly overall especially when it comes to charting treatment plans, handling clinical charting, running reports and managing the appointment book.

Some applications still aren't available in Canada yet.

This software covers a wide range of what a dental practice needs on a day-to-day basis so it feels very complete and well aligned with the reality of running the office.

Cons

We can't really customize it to fit our own specific requirements. We have to wait for future upgrades and just hope that one of our suggestions gets picked and included.

Pros

A very user-friendly product that covers nearly everything a practice would need to keep things organized and perform at a high level. Out of all the software I've worked with, this is easily one of the best designed programs I've had the chance to use.

Cons

Ledger layout could be improved. It can be pretty hard for patients to follow and understand.

Pros

Being able to build your own templates makes charting much more convenient and saves time when working in the charts.

Cons

There are several different ways to complete the same task and I wish the system were more direct and simple.

System is simple for our whole staff to use, gives quick access to patient information and the scheduling templates work really well.

It can be slow when switching from a patient file to the probe screen.

It takes a lot of the struggle out of my day especially when it comes to scheduling, claims, reports and similar tasks.

Wish I had quicker access to claims without having to save transmission reports, along with the ability to view multiple patients at the same time.

Scheduling and tracking have been useful features overall.

Cons

Scheduling and tracking are helpful but the insurance setup feels too limited. The system only allows two dental insurance coverages and you also can't list the subscriber unless you add them into the family file. Even older software like Windent handled this better, with the option to enter up to four insurance coverages. We really need stronger plan entry capabilities especially for cases where plans share the same group number but have different benefit packages. More pre-block options in the appointment book and scheduling templates would also help because having to create an event every time is frustrating.

There are several ways to handle different tasks which I really enjoy. I also appreciate that the software is constantly being updated and improved.

Cons

Not much stands out as a dislike. One thing I'd love to see is better connectivity between offices especially since we're such a large practice.

Pros

This tool helps our practice run very efficiently. It lets the whole team see what we need quickly and at a glance which means we can spend more quality time focusing on each patient.

Cons

Sometimes the software updates come with glitches. Version 7.2, for example, created some major problems with our questionnaires module and that has been pretty frustrating.

Day schedule works really well and the images, patient chart and family file features have been very useful for our office.

Cons

Treatment planning could be better especially since you can't insert an extra tooth in the middle of a treatment plan without having to renumber everything. Custom reports are also hard to work with and not very user-friendly. On top of that, whenever service or updates are needed, everyone has to be completely out of the software and tech support hours don't line up well with our office hours.

The platform is easy to use and has the features to handle pretty much everything I need it to do.

Integrating x-ray images was difficult for me at times.

It's design gives us multiple ways to get to the same information which makes navigation very practical. Its multi-functionality is also a big plus since it lets us analyze and assess both specific individual areas and the practice as a whole.

We can't just double-click to open information so getting to it takes a multi-step process instead.

After using it for more than 20 years, it feels very familiar and natural to work in. I'm comfortable with the system at this point and it's fairly easy to navigate.

Quite a few restrictions are built into it and I wish some areas were more flexible and open-ended.

It would be better if there were a way to view all chart notes together in one place.

There are still a few features I miss from other platforms that it doesn't offer especially around insurance details. Compared with Open Dental, the insurance section could be more customizable, including ages, frequencies, limitations and added flexibility for code customization.

It probably has many capabilities we still haven't uncovered but it isn't always easy to figure out.

Keeping in view the time we have spent using it, whole platform is very user friendly and it helps with all areas of our office.

I honestly don't have any real complaints. The only parts we struggle with usually come down to not fully knowing how to use the system yet.
