“simple and direct user interface
Pros
One thing I like is how simple and direct the user interface felt as there were not any major elements I had to struggle to figure out or master. The way windows were laid out brought back memories of classic Microsoft programs from the 1990s and I mean that as a compliment. That kind of familiar structure meant I needed very little time or effort to understand how the product worked and to interpret the data shown to me. Searching through content was easy too and managing data whether adding or deleting records was painless. To top it off, the search feature stood out and I found it particularly easy to jump between files when I needed to.
Cons
The thing I liked least was not being able to toggle between windows. even though I appreciated the clean, simple interface, I missed modern conveniences like quickly switching from one window to another or toggling among different files. I can see why such a feature hasn't been implemented yet and that explanation makes sense. Still, it annoyed me at times when I tried to work in a way the program didn't support and I felt limited by that constraint on my usual workflow too.

“Cuts back on staff smoothly
Pros
I have found this software lets me cut back on staff while keeping the office running smoothly with fewer people. Communicating with patients is so much easier thanks to the portal, scheduling tools, online bill payments and overall billing functionality all of which work really well.
Cons
Personally I would like more ability to tailor the features and for pricing to reflect that customization because not every included tool is necessary for how I use the program and I don't want to pay for extras I won't use.

“Highly customizable note-taking tools
Pros
The note-taking and charting tools are highly customizable and I appreciate how smoothly I can switch between charting and billing I also receive eRAs directly.
Cons
I have run into occasional error messages but customer support tends to respond quickly and in my experience they've fixed the majority of problems.

“Pretty easy with prompt replies

For me the platform is pretty easy to use, the team is friendly and I appreciate that replies come promptly every single time.
Cons
I am frustrated that I cannot directly call a representative, that submitting requests requires a lengthy form and that I am unable to view messages in a single thread.

Not being able to use procedure codes was limiting, however since it was the free version I didn't regard it as a con otherwise I experienced none

“Really helped me get comfortable
Pros
It really helped me get comfortable with the EHR and was quite useful. I appreciated being able to view an EHR layout and practice how to operate it.
Cons
Having two screens made things a bit unclear and it ended up taking a lot of time. I had to ask my instructor for assistance and we spent a long time finishing it.

“Full ipad functionality and easy
Pros
I really like the app's full iPad functionality. Also I find it easy to personalize settings and building templates is simple and quick.
Cons
It becomes cumbersome when I have multiple tabs open at the same time. I used to be able to enter several lines via dropdown menus and rely on cut-and-paste to build templates quickly but after the recent update that whole process has turned into something very time-consuming for me.

Pros
I like the wide range of features and the fact I can access it from the cloud. There's plenty of automation tucked into the various forms which cuts down on repetitive data entry. It has made handling my patients and our appointment schedule far simpler compared to our previous system.
Cons
Generally it takes our team at least a month before everyone starts using it naturally. The training sessions helped but they didn't go far enough. What I really want is stronger support beyond an email ticket system. A live chat or a phone line to call would be so much more helpful.

“everyone really likes this system
Pros
everyone on our staff and providers really like this system. It's incredibly simple to manage, we offer specialized procedures and I appreciate being able to customize every template to suit our workflows. It includes all the capabilities we require and then some. Plus when something isn't useful I can remove it from my view! My patients are big fans of the patient portal. This platform is HIPAA compliant and very budget-friendly.
Cons
Online appointment scheduling becomes complicated when managing several locations. Thankfully our account manager stepped in and worked with us to determine the best way to configure everything for our setup.

Pros
The product is quite easy to learn. Also the documentation follows a simple format and I can train new staff without much trouble.
Cons
It's not so much a negative point but I personally haven't had the opportunity to use the system consistently over time. I'd appreciate a clean, fresh start so I can properly work with and learn the system.

“Ipad works great with the ehr

I really like how well the iPad works with the EHRas the calendar and patient billing are user friendly and simple to navigate. Plus every report can be exported and they are incredibly helpful.
Cons
We run optical offices so many of drchrono's capabilities feel unnecessary for us and at times a bit overkill. We did face problems when working with the API though drchrono's support team did step in and help resolve them. I wish there were a direct customer service phone line to call instead of always having to lodge requests through the online form.

“unreliable support and rigid templates
Pros
It is annoying that I get no customer support despite repeated calls to the EMR contact, with no response as they make promises but never follow through. The only aspect I appreciate is its similarity to Practice Fusion. honestly I don't have anything good to say about this software. I wish I could switch to Phoenix EMR instead
Cons
There is zero customer support and I cannot create satisfactory templates the system isn't practical for orthopedic workflows. I have received no assistance, reps fail to return calls and installing this software was a poor choice. I am trying to find a replacement but I am stuck in a contract and cannot switch easily

“attractive and organized interface
Pros
I am drawn to its attractive, organized interface and it runs smoothly the iPad integration is handled well, my patients usually respond positively and I find the e-prescribing features acceptable.
Cons
There are moments when I find the interface a bit chaotic, even if it is not as bad as some other vendors but it becomes irritating when I am trying to do a simple e-prescribe because depending on where I am navigating in the chart the process can get needlessly complicated.

Pros
From my experience the free tier already packs a lot of functionality and there are clear paid upgrade paths if I need more. The interface feels modern and getting around it is not a problem too.
Cons
I still feel uneasy about cloud-based or 'online' EHR systems, mainly because I have far more hands-on experience with paper charts and locally installed/downloaded software.

“Outstanding and top-notch customer service
Pros
Moving around is not a problem and customer service is outstanding. Plus I notice the team constantly looks for ways to keep customers satisfied while delivering top-notch support. Their troubleshooting ability is truly A+++. They also handle follow-ups promptly and resolve matters timely. I feel confident saying they really stay on top of everything. Because of their strong reputation and warm people skills, I regularly refer new clients and practices to them without hesitation.
Cons
No real negatives to share. Still I believe there's always room to get even better and I say that as someone who genuinely appreciates their work. If I had to pick one area for improvement, it would be the speed of some follow-ups. Although they already do a great job with follow-through and timeliness most of the time. every time I have called or they've reached out first, I can almost picture the friendly person on the other end beaming a big smile which isn't a drawback but felt worth mentioning.

What I appreciate most about this program is that whenever I look something up it reliably gives me an answer. I really love using this software and would recommend it to anyone else.
Cons

In my experience this is an excellent product with a warm, helpful team. I find drchrono's EMR/eHR interface very user-oriented and when I reach out to support by email their responses are quick and easy to work with.
Cons
Don't have a lot of complaints about this software the main thing I had to contend with was getting used to the layout. It took some time learning the navigation so I could transition smoothly between different sections.

Pros
Honestly what stands out most to me is how user friendly this product is. I find it really easy to move around the interface, enter new information and even teach others how to use it. I especially appreciate that whenever I need to add something new, the green button on any page clearly guides me through the process.
Cons
One drawback I have noticed is the automatic log-out timing. After I sign in and then stay idle for a period, the system logs me out which forces me to spend extra time signing back in to complete documentation and can become frustratingly time-consuming.

“Can see patient photos and send prescriptions
Pros
I appreciate that I can see photos of patients directly in their chart, the consent forms are simple to manage and being paperless is a real timesaver, the interface looks pleasant and I can send prescriptions from the phone app when I am out and a patient needs something right away.
Cons
For me the problem is they push minor updates all the time without notifying us and frequently after those updates other features end up temporarily broken.

One thing I really like is that appointments, scheduling and the EHR are all in one piece of software. Overall it's simple to navigate.
