easy to use with useful tutorials

Pros

The site is really easy to use. Also it is well organized and I love that there are plenty of clear, useful tutorials that teach you what you need to know.

Cons

honestly I wouldn't change a thing about this software as I have found it incredibly user-friendly and so far in my experience there's nothing to complain about.

easy access across apple devices

Pros

I can easily access the app across all my Apple devices and I can quickly build templates tailored to our office. I also find it simple to design forms for patients to complete.

Cons

Compared to the other EMRs that I have tested and purchased over the years, I still haven't been able to find any real con that applies to drchrono.

easy to use and cloud-based

Pros

Well I find it's easy to use, cloud-based and the pricing works for me their customer service is friendly and they even provide training on how to use the software.

Cons

At first we had problems saving our data but after reaching out to customer service they walked us through the issue and managed to fix the problem.

satisfied with organized integration

Pros

I am satisfied as it is organized, integrated and easy to use on iPad. Online scheduling, patient portal, e-fax, integrated billing

Cons

The eligibility checks and live copay/deductible status haven't materialized yet and I am still really hoping they'll be added soon since patients continue to face billing surprises that modern tech could prevent

extremely user friendly with real-time tracking

Pros

I am finding this program extremely user friendly. It provides real-time claims tracking, web-based appointment booking and a customizable color-coded scheduling interface for practices.

Cons

For me reports aren't printer-friendly. Some features take several clicks to complete. There's no point-of-sale or overall patient ledger. Inventory feels cumbersome and updating item quantities is difficult. Also, online booking won't let patients pick a doctor before booking.

user friendly and easy to get up

Pros

Being a student intern and brand new to this technology, I found it really easy to get up to running because the software is so user friendly. The interface feels like it was built for every kind of user be it patients, providers, administrators and student users like myself. Honestly I think it is one of the best tools AHIMA has on their VLab. even now that my internship is finished, I still have access to drchrono and use it to practice navigating the EHR some more. The look and feel of the program are pleasant as it is easy on the eyes with a thoughtful use of color and layout. Since it is cloud-based, I can work with it from anywhere which makes it very flexible and that portability has been a big plus for me.

Cons

Because I am using a student account, I didn't get full access to all of the software's features so it wouldn't be fair for me to list a long set of complaints. From my perspective, the main drawback was that I couldn't fully explore or learn the program in its entirety unless I upgraded my plan. That limitation made some deeper learning and hands-on experimentation impossible during my time using it.

Very easy to use and free

Pros

I find it very easy to use and the charting is pretty simple too. The printouts look great. I also like being able to type free text into any or all fields. Scheduling works well. Best of all, it is free!

Cons

I was disappointed that the eRx capability is turned off. A lot of the extra customization options also come with separate fees to the company. I wish I had more control to adjust the default negatives for example in the ROS.

Can tailor own templates and forms

Pros

I really appreciate being able to tailor my own templates and build forms that actually fit my practice's workflow. Beyond that, the clean, modern interface and having the mobile app for quick field access make it especially convenient.

Cons

Occasionally I face errors that are usually fixed by clearing cookies but it's annoying to have to do that and I'd prefer the app to be more stable so these hiccups don't occur.

Well organized and simple to use

Pros

the platform is really well organized and simple to use making it easy to pull reports quickly. I can get almost any billing report I need and the integration with the clearinghouse is excellent. As I can watch a live claims feed and track the status of submitted claims, including recommended next steps to fix any problems.

Cons

Unfortunately when I submit a ticket it often takes a long time before I receive a response and I don't have the option to call anytime to get my problem resolved immediately.

user friendly calendar and scheduling tools

Pros

I really like how user friendly the calendar and scheduling tools are and I find saving and pulling up files fairly simple to do.

Cons

For now, the recall feature confuses me and I haven't had time to set up or use the templates yet so I wish they were simpler to get started with.

easy interface with helpful tutorials

Pros

One thing I love is how easy the interface is to use. Navigating DrChrono is simple too and when I am unsure about something they offer helpful tutorial videos I can easily watch.

Cons

honestly I cannot think of anything I disliked I find the software great although I do notice it can have a small lag.

easy to pick up and navigate

Pros

As a first-time user I found the program really easy to pick up and navigate and the creators include a walkthrough video that explains every section clearly. Their customer support has also been excellent.

Cons

So far I haven't noticed any real downsides since I have only been using the program for a short period. I'll revisit and share an update after more time with it here.

Navigating felt too easy

Pros

Navigating the platform felt too easy for me and I ran into no problems while using it. So yes I'd happily suggest others give it a try.

Cons

I didn't face any problems using the system it's simple to follow from start to finish and didn't raise any concerns for me.

Highly customizable but awkward navigation

Pros

I appreciate being able to tailor the template to fit exactly what I need. Another thing I like is that I can fill the fields with as many values as necessary without feeling limited.

Cons

The exam report area is divided into three main tabs and each of those tabs contains multiple subsections. Moving between all of those different tabs and sections becomes cumbersome. It really bothers me to have to jump from tab to tab and subsection to subsection during an evaluation. What I'd prefer is a single, continuous template that I can step through while I am doing the eval.

Impressive speed and helpful support

Pros

The speed is impressive and I found their customer support genuinely helpful. It's really easy for me to make lists and format things and compared to all the electronic programs I have used, this one has been the most user-friendly.

Cons

I wish there were more detail available in certain areas because I find it difficult to insert narrative text. I'd also like them to add fields for information that's required by Medicare.

I really appreciate that I can easily find exactly what I am looking for and this software has been a big help for me in the area I work in.

Checks insurance and tailors reminders

Pros

I like that it checks both primary and secondary insurance eligibility at check-in, lets me tailor appointment reminders, has an internal chat and even lets me save credit card information for future payments.

Cons

We ran into a few drawbacks such as there's no built-in waitlist, the pricing is a bit steep for our small practice and the package only includes 1,000 fax pages per month.

Retake quizzes and great support

Pros

Being able to retake quizzes and go over the material was really helpful for me. Since my computer skills are limited, I appreciated having someone to call for support.

Cons

I found the instructions for downloading the program unclear and that was frustrating. I also felt disadvantaged because instructors had no access to assist and remained completely hands-off.
