“In-app hands-on guidance is excellent
Pros
I appreciate that the program walks you through how to operate it while you're actually working in it since I am such a visual learner, having that in-app, hands-on guidance made it an excellent tool for me to learn with.
Cons
While I was using it I noticed a few areas where the software would glitch a bit and when those hiccups happen I find it much harder to navigate and keep workflows running smoothly.

“Manage high-volume schedule comfortably
Pros
I have noticed that our physicians can comfortably manage the same high-volume schedule seeing roughly 35 to 50 patients a day and they can bill with greater accuracy.
Cons
honestly I don't have any complaints the physician's dictated note is thorough, excellent and is automatically forwarded to the referring physician.

“Real software with authentic training
Pros
What I liked was that it's actual software used by real healthcare clients. The live feel made the training feel highly authentic and will shorten the time I spend training on the job.
Cons
I wasn't compensated while I was using it. honestly I enjoyed the software a lot and cannot really think of any drawbacks to mention at all.

“Combines ehr and scheduling in one
Pros
One thing I really like is that it combines the EHR, clinical notes and scheduling in one place. Most EHRs don't include scheduling so I appreciate having everything consolidated into a single organized system.
Cons
From my perspective, the cost feels fairly high. I find it especially pricey when I am trying to grow a practice and add additional clinicians to the platform. as the expenses can add up quickly.

“Can personalize soap notes
Pros
I like that I can personalize nearly every aspect of my SOAP notes and the billing tools are simple to use. I am also really pleased there's a native iPad app so patients can sign my documents directly on the device.
Cons
At first I felt like I didn't quite understand how it worked but I genuinely have no complaints as support was outstanding and they sorted everything out for me quickly.

“Long-time subscribers keep same rate
Pros
I have been using DrChrono for about six years and one thing I appreciate is that they keep long-time subscribers on the same monthly rate they started with, even when they raise prices for new customers. Over the years I have watched the platform steadily improve. It's a versatile system that works across disciplines I use it as a chiropractor and have used it alongside a medical nurse practitioner. What sold me originally was that there wasn't a multi-thousand-dollar up-front software fee like many other EHR companies demand, or recurring mandatory upgrade charges so right away I saved thousands in practice.
Cons
That said I find the price keeps going up each year for new accounts. Customer service has declined and there isn't a direct phone number to call to get problems fixed immediately I have to email them and wait for a reply which can be frustrating.

“user-friendly simulates real environment
Pros
As an instructor I find the interface incredibly user-friendly and easy to browse and it really simulates a real-world environment. I rely on it as a teaching resource in our health information course because it lets students practice moving around an EHR and understand the kinds of information it stores.
Cons
honestly I cannot think of anything I dislike about this software as it's very user friendly and my students find it simple to use when they're completing their assignments and learning the workflow.

“access patient records while out
Pros
It lets me access patient records while I am out and about which really helps when a patient calls with a question while they're on the road.
Cons
Occasionally it's tricky to locate certain forms and the layout feels cluttered at times my PIN won't accept so I end up entering my full password instead.

“Basic features are workable
Pros
As a clinician, I find the basic features workable and I need flexibility in how I document care. DrChrono provides respectable templates, yet I notice it takes far too many clicks before I can produce a usable patient note.
Cons
I find the pricing steep and in my practice it doesn't integrate smoothly with common in-office services such as LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics which makes coordinating test results more frustrating.

“Overpriced and inflexible for small practices
Pros
Overall I struggled to use this product so pinpointing strengths was difficult. It appears they enjoy a strong reputation, yet I didn't feel the actual software lived up to that image in my experience.
Cons
For a small practice like mine the pricing felt steep. I also found their customer support lacking and the templates came across as too rigid making them hard to tailor to my workflow.

“Offers most needed clinical tools
Pros
I find that drchrono EHR offers most of the tools I need to carry out my clinical workflows effectively.
Cons
From my experience the application is generally well constructed, yet I feel it would deliver greater value if it reached a larger share of the market. I also think the future of EHRs lies in smooth interoperability and drchrono is well positioned to grow if it embraces tighter integration.

“unreliable for report creation
Pros
For me the software handles data collection very well and it makes saving essential patient health records clear, simple and reliably accessible.
Cons
I have found it unreliable for report creation it organizes information in ways that don't fit my company's needs and customer support is very disappointing.

“Polished design but serious legal charting gaps
Pros
I was drawn to this platform because it looks very polished and visually appealing and that first impression is what convinced me to give the software a try. Moving around the system feels overall natural and generally simple to use. Plus I appreciate how well it works on the iPad which apparently earned it recognition as one of the top iPad systems. These days I rarely reach for my laptop to see patients as my iPad covers most of what I need and I only use the laptop as a supplement. Almost every task I perform on the laptop is available on the iPad, including setting up electronic prescriptions. In fact some tasks are easier on the iPad like reviewing charts and patient records. Sending electronic prescriptions is simple and reliable. I also find the fax feature very useful as I can send faxes from nearly any screen and fax most types of documents without trouble. Regarding dictation, the integration with Dragon is okay but could be more polished compared with other EMRs I have used. The M-mode dictation built into the program is excellent though. Its recognition is a little less accurate than Dragon's but M-mode shines because it is portable and works with the iPhone and iPad. The only limitation is that M-mode cannot be used on a laptop which is annoying at times, yet I prefer and use M-mode more than Dragon overall. The cloud-based setup is convenient because it can be reached from anywhere with internet access and from most devices though it cannot be accessed from non-Apple smart devices like certain Android phones or tablets. One feature I find particularly reassuring is that notes and documents are automatically backed up to an external third-party cloud, namely BOX. That backup is genuinely valuable because it gives me access to my clinical notes and documents if drchrono becomes unavailable or we move to another system. The drawback is that not every part of the chart is saved to that third-party account. For instance, phone messages or email exchanges aren't included in the BOX backup.
Cons
What concerns me most about this system is their lack of understanding about what constitutes a legal, complete medical chart and this could be the reason I ultimately have to switch to a different EMR. Although I like many aspects of the software, the company seems unable to grasp the difference between what an end-user sees inside the program and what a full set of records looks like when produced for an external requester. There is a substantial gap between those two views and the company doesn't seem to appreciate or address it. If an outside body such as the DeA, a medical board, or an attorney requests complete medical records, the clinical notes and documents held in the BOX account can be exported easily. Communications between clinicians and patients by phone or email, however, are not saved in the BOX account and therefore aren't included in that export. When I raised this with support, they suggested I could print each phone or email face individually. That answer is unreasonable like imagine a patient with 100 phone or email exchanges printing each one is impractical. Another frustrating issue is how medication refills are handled as for some reason, when the same medication is refilled across visits, it can disappear from the medication list generated in the finalized dictated notes. That behavior is extremely confusing for any outside reviewer examining the chart. I have seen situations where the completed signed note gives the impression the patient wasn't taking any opioids, yet suddenly the provider prescribes a very high dose for example, OxyContin 80 mg twice daily which could look like a serious clinical error or malpractice. To make matters worse, the signed dictated note does not include the total number of pills prescribed the prescription count such as #60 or #480 which is information a DeA officer would consider important when reviewing records. When I discussed these concerns with drchrono, they pointed out that the medication history inside the software contains those details. But that misses the point because an outside chart reviewer typically only receives the signed clinical notes, not the entire live electronic medical record so those important details must appear in the finalized notes. Again, this highlights their apparent lack of awareness about what external reviewers can access versus what the end-user sees. Templates in the system also feel underdeveloped and are fairly limited compared with other EMRs I have used. Finally, customer support is a mixed bag as they respond quickly to support tickets and will act fast when there's a major, system-wide problem which I appreciate. For routine or smaller issues, however, resolutions are often slow or sometimes never achieved and that inconsistency has been disappointing.

“Not modular enough for cash-pay
Pros
What I like was how clean and user friendly the interface felt and that it ran smoothly on my iPad.
Cons
I didn't like that it wasn't more modular in its options and pricing because I run a cash-pay clinic and a lot of the insurance-focused features end up being unnecessary overhead rather than useful.

“Still training, but very excited to get to work on Drchrono!
Pros
The best thing about this software is that it is functional on all Apple devices. This software literally has limitless features, you can do anything you need or want to do. It has daily emails feature as well which makes it convenient for physicians to see their schedule for the day. I personally love all the text reminders and email reminders it sends, plus they can also be customized which is great in its own way. Our trainer is always there to help us. The best trainer ever.
Cons
There is almost too much automation in this software, although I dont say that its a bad thing, it is great but it takes a little while getting used to all of its automation and stuff. Its not really a con though.

“smooth and easy integration
Pros
I find the integration smooth and it's easy to use, convenient and lightweight so it doesn't slow down my workflow. It's affordable and also lets me e-prescribe and send faxes.
Cons
Honestly I have no complaints as it is a great EMR system and I don't find it expensive. Their customer support responds quickly and handles issues efficiently and I personally find the software easy to use.

“Great app with integrated fax
Pros
It is a good tool. I am a fan of the app, the scheduling features, the integrated fax option and how user friendly it all is. Their customer service has been really great too.
Cons
That said it is more expensive than alternatives and I am missing several conveniences I had in my previous scheduling system. For example, those automatic emails that go out when an appointment is booked aren't available here.

Pros
I have found this tool incredibly simple to operate. It transformed our clinic, letting us relocate and work much faster than we used to.
