“extremely user-friendly with many templates
Pros
Once I had it set up, I found Dr Chrono extremely user-friendly. There are so many templates to help with charting notes across different services and I can switch between my desktop, iPad and iWatch without any issue.
Cons
I find keeping inventory in the Dr Chrono app really frustrating when I have items like Botox or fillers entered into the system.

“Pretty perfect with great support
Pros
For my practice, the program is pretty perfect to use. I also like that the support team genuinely goes out of their way to assist so the platform stays very user-friendly.
Cons
I notice it can run a bit slowly sometimes though I suspect the Wi-Fi connection might be to blame all in all, I don't have many complaints.

“Combines scheduling with charting
Pros
I have found it very helpful that the system combines appointment scheduling with charting, offers an online booking portal patients can easily use and includes built-in messaging and fax features that help keep care coordinated smoothly.
Cons
I'd like an option to hide or delete features that we don't use so the screens and workflows in the system would be less cluttered and simpler to navigate.

“simple macros for apple gear
Pros
As a physician who uses Apple gear, I find the macros incredibly simple and easy to tweak. They make it simple to organize how our clinic runs. Patients also respond well when I hand them an iPad instead of a paper clipboard during onboarding. I mean they really seem to prefer the digital experience.
Cons
I wouldn't suggest DrChrono for a clinic that's built around Microsoft systems. In my experience it's best if your practice commits to Apple devices before you roll it out. The platform was clearly made with iPads in mind and trying to introduce it into an office that's Microsoft-centric would be pretty challenging.

“Building templates quick and simple
Pros
I have found building templates here far quicker and simpler than with other EHRs I have used. The OnPatient app together with the fully automated kiosk has eliminated paperwork and scanning at check-in for me. That paperless workflow has been a huge benefit as a solo practitioner.
Cons
While I appreciate that appointment reminders come included, the scheduler itself feels clunky and lacks features I expect compared to other systems. I am also frustrated that paid add-ons like electronic prescribing and lab integration still don't work for me, even though those capabilities were the main reasons I upgraded my plan. On top of that, the fax function is awkward to use and mostly unhelpful.

“Excellent customization
Pros
The system is great, and I would like to also tell everyone that Ive used 3 other EHRs in the past and seen countless demos, but by far drchrono has to be best out of all. They keep updating their system, so thats great as well. You can create your own templates and share them with other users as well, or you can also download other templates. Scheduling is super easy.
Cons
A few times I do experience glitches, but they are resolved as soon as they are reported. Their monthly price is a bit higher than their competitors, but I think that its worth it as it also provides you with a better quality system and services. It is a yearly contract.

“Fantastic user interface on ipad
Pros
Fantastic user interface, compatible with iPad & iPhone, it was very easy for me to train my staff to use! The lab Quest integration performs very well.
Cons
I am aware it's not designed for walk-in clinics I have to make an appointment before using the iPad kiosk which adds another step but overall I don't see too many downsides.

“Configurable to match practice
Pros
I can configure the drchrono system to match my practice exactly which I find fantastic! Also, handling billing is really easy with the chrono system.
Cons
I'd like more control over online booking customization. The monthly price feels a bit high to pay. eOBs don't always post correctly.

“Multiple pricing and feature tiers
Pros
In my experience there are multiple pricing and feature tiers to pick from so one of them could really suit our organization's needs. I also found the interface clean and basic enough making it simple to learn and use with very little training.
Cons
I discovered that telemedicine is treated as a separate add-on so it carries an additional fee when combined with the base subscription cost, the total pushed it beyond what I could afford.

“Best!
Pros
I would have to say that for me this has to be the best software that is currently available out there. Everything is in one place and easily accessible. Navigating between screens is amazing and super easy. It works with iOS as well, which makes it super cool. It is easy to book appointments and make patient demographics through your phone, which is a great feature, and finding clients is very easy too.
Cons
They already keep on improving and updating things, so I don’t think there’s a need for me to mention anything. They’re simply great.

“easy to use with huge range
Pros
I find it really easy to use and it gives me a huge range of settings to tailor client tracking, including the best options for alerts or handling patient issues
Cons
What bothers me is having to open too many tabs and I cannot print from an iPad creating templates also takes a fair amount of time, otherwise I honestly don't have much else to complain about.

“Huge number of options and features
Pros
I have found there are a huge number of options and features available. My notes can be customized entirely to suit how I work. The customer support has been excellent. Being able to pull up my notes anywhere I have internet is fantastic. The DrChrono iPad apps also seem to run quite smoothly.
Cons
For my practice the note builder is far too clunky to use efficiently. I spent hours adjusting and fine-tuning my templates to achieve the setup I wanted and while I eventually arrived at notes and procedures that worked, it took an excessive amount of time to get there. Part of the problem seems to be that the system is designed more for a conventional medical office rather than a Chiropractic practice which meant I had to invent a number of work-arounds to make it fit our workflow. Our clinic sees patients more frequently and for different reasons than a typical medical office so those extra adaptations were necessary but annoying. On top of that, the built-in point-of-sale option is pricey compared with competitors and doesn't handle multi-visit care plans well so I ended up outsourcing that piece of my operation to a company called Fortis.

“simple to tailor templates
Pros
For me it's simple to tailor templates I find it integrates patient data smoothly, supports electronic lab and prescription processing and sends appointment notifications.
Cons
The billing setup is pretty complicated and I cannot record a payment now to be applied to an appointment down the road.

“Big fan of bulk appointment tool
Pros
I am a big fan of the bulk appointment tool as it saves me so much time. It also auto-saves work if I have to step away so nothing disappears and I appreciate how well it works on my iPad.
Cons
What annoys me is the screen keeps flipping between different exam rooms while I am using it although that glitch doesn't occur when I switch to the daily button.

“simple to learn and personalize
Pros
This system is really simple to learn and personalize and its practical tools genuinely organize my workday at the clinic. I am especially fond of the SMS reminders, the patient-flagging option and how easy it is for me to upload files into a patient's chart and fax paperwork.
Cons
The only slight annoyance is that I cannot directly save a HCFA form into a patient's chart as I have to download it first and then upload or attach it manually. Aside from that, I truly have no issues with this EHR.

“easy to export reports into excel
Pros
I find it really easy to export reports into excel. The platform seems like it could fulfill many of our clinics requirements but those particular capabilities have not yet been implemented in DrChrono.
Cons
We need a much simpler way to export reports that include a wider range of patient details, like their preferred drugs and specific diagnosis codes.

“Billing insurance much simpler
Pros
Billing insurance has become much simpler for me since I started using this it also fulfills the EHR incentive requirements and is portable for use on the go. I find it customizable and it can attach patient data like retinal photos though those attachments take a few extra steps.
Cons
It's not tailored for eye care specialists the way I'd prefer and I wish the help tutorials were more up to date. I also cannot directly import images or scans from ophthalmic devices like OCT or retinal cameras which is limiting.

“The worst software i have ever used
Pros
It looks attractive, with nice colors and the iPad app isn't terrible. It's inexpensive and I suppose you get what you pay for.
Cons
Where to begin. First off, this is the worst software I have ever used. I cannot have two people signed into the same account because when that happens all my notes vanish like they were never there. The speech-to-text option is practically worthless and the reporting tools don't work as reports crash whenever they're too large. I also cannot personalize it the way I want and I end up waiting for messages to appear in the message center. Their online support is a joke as half the time they cannot help me at all from the very beginning. The platform crashes constantly without warning and leaves me hanging with no advance notice. In my opinion they should only target small primary care practices because this system isn't suitable for other specialties. The onboarding and training felt like a complete waste the trainers clearly don't understand what providers do day to day. They only handle API interfacing and they won't implement it themselves you must use a third party and pay a lot of extra money. Building templates is overly complicated as I find it faster to free-type notes than to follow their templates. everything is tied to appointments so when I need to document outside of an appointment I simply cannot, seriously.

Pros
I really like how user-friendly DrChrono is as moving around software is not a problem and it provides a bunch of handy features that I use regularly.
Cons
every so often I find the patient transactions and balances difficult to decipher and on occasion I face an error message while trying to save completed forms.

“Pretty easy with plenty of templates
Pros
I find this EHR really pretty easy to use. Also there are plenty of template settings you can tweak so it fits the exact needs of my practice effectively.
Cons
What frustrates me is that the reporting tool doesn't offer enough options for filtering when I generate reports. Also, too many tabs pile up because every time I click something it opens in a new tab which becomes overwhelming. Plus there's no way to know if someone else is in the same clinical note editing at the same time.
