“Cloud-based and very user friendly
Pros
Using the cloud-based EHR makes things incredibly convenient and I find the mobile app performs really well when I am on the go. Overall it is very user friendly.
Cons
I do find the template gets a bit cluttered when patients cancel because cancelled appointments still show up on the schedule and it becomes hard to manage.

Pros
Being iCloud-based is something I really like and I find the template builder outstanding. Booking appointments and shifting them around is incredibly simple and issue-free.
Cons
I don't like having to download reports just to sort them the way I want and I'd really appreciate the ability to modify appointment templates directly within the app instead of being locked out.

Pros
I have found Chrono really organizes scheduling and helps me keep all the records I need organized. The interface is smooth and easy to use which I appreciate when I need tasks completed quickly and efficiently!
Cons
My only real complaint is that it took me far too long to discover it existed because otherwise I honestly have no other complaints to mention here on my end.

“Works great across all devices
Pros
Actually I really like this EHR because it works great across all my devices. It runs extremely fast on my iPhone and iPad and with everything stored in the cloud rather than on our servers, I can work from anywhere without issue.
Cons
At first the interface has a lot of clicks to get used to and I found using it on a laptop somewhat frustrating at the start however, with daily use it gradually becomes more pleasant and easier to navigate.

Pros
I am pleasantly surprised by how user-friendly the EHR is it packs useful tools that help my practice run much more efficiently.
Cons
On my desktop or laptop, I end up with too many browser-like tabs open and I wish several sections could be consolidated to reduce clutter.

On my iPad the app integrates smoothly with the rest of the system and I appreciate that every feature feels intentionally designed to deliver a smooth, enjoyable experience.
Cons
I found there's a small learning curve before everything is fully set up but after I got through it, workflows move along much faster.

“Great customer service and payment options
Pros
I am really impressed with the customer service team as they respond very quickly. The payment options are good too and I particularly like that I can email a patient's receipt straight from Chrono.
Cons
For me the schedule templates are really confusing. I also wish the system worked with our scanner. It can be frustrating when someone else is logged into a chart and you don't notice until the end because none of the information you entered gets saved.

“Can make it do anything
Pros
What I love is that we can make it do anything in any way. Because it has an open API, we can find apps to integrate or build exactly what we need which basically opens up every possibility. On top of that, the team is extremely responsive and the salespeople really partnered with us so I honestly couldn't have asked for much more.
Cons
I find that some of the built-in fields aren't very customizable. Still because I can access the underlying data and pull it into other systems, it doesn't end up being a big issue for us.

“stable but cluttered and slow
Pros
Compared to the software we used before, I find this program a bit of an improvement because it no longer freezes constantly like the old one did.
Cons
I have noticed it can be slow to load at times and the interface tends to leave too many windows open simultaneously which gets cluttered. When another user has a chart open while I am working in it, their changes don't sync with mine and sometimes my entries end up being erased. The scheduling template isn't very user friendly either and address fields often show mismatched city and ZIP code pairs. It would be much more convenient if there was a credit-card swiper built into the system.

“User-friendly and connects with apps
Pros
I appreciate how user-friendly it is. It can connect with many different applications which genuinely simplifies and speeds up the workflow for our whole practice.
Cons
At this point I have not found any real downsides to the product. Overall it is easy to use although the very first time I tried it I ran into a few small challenges. That's pretty typical for any new platform so I don't really consider that a drawback.

“easy navigation between multiple tabs
Pros
One thing I really like about the app is being able to move between multiple tabs. I am not stuck in a single view and can jump into different areas without being limited to just one section.
Cons
I would like the schedule layout to be cleaner. Right now it feels cluttered with way too many lines and when a patient cancels their appointment the item only becomes semi-transparent instead of being removed I think canceled bookings should be taken off the screen or hidden entirely rather than just faded.

Pros
I find the EHR incredibly user friendly and simple to use. I mean it is genuinely easy to move around. The interface explains itself well and even offers multiple windows that let me reach the same destinations.
Cons
For me the controls feel concentrated in a single spot and I'd love an option to move between different sections using distinct tabs instead of funneling everything through one point.

Pros
This gives us everything we wanted! The online scheduling and patient messaging features work really well and the organized charting plus the ability to create and tweak templates makes day-to-day tasks so much easier. Their customer support has been outstanding.
Cons
My only real problem is that since our practice only does cosmetic work there's absolutely no need for insurance billing, yet the system includes so many insurance-related fields I know we'll never use. I wish there was a simple way to remove or hide all of those unnecessary insurance sections but otherwise, we've been incredibly happy with the software overall.

“Very easy to use and customizable
Pros
I have found this EHR to be very easy to use. It's highly customizable and the developers are always updating it to improve things. The support team is excellent and consistently addresses any issues we face quickly.
Cons
One thing I wish it had is an Age field available in the customizable reports. Finding a patient's age is surprisingly difficult unless you look in their demographics or read the clinical note itself directly.

“reliable with fantastic support
Pros
I am using a cloud-based system that I find very reliable and the support team has been fantastic as their onboarding was thorough. The reporting is extensive, the interface feels user friendly and intake plus documentation workflows move quickly. I also like the powerful revenue cycle management and the credentialing assistance they provide for newly hired MDs.
Cons
From my experience I still run into visibility issues with the schedule that could use improvement navigating to patient ledgers isn't as organized as I'd like and complicates my workflow I'd also welcome the option to embed DocuSign-style signing functionality.

“user friendly and straight-through claims
Pros
The interface is very user friendly and I picked it up quickly without any formal training. I also appreciate that claims post straight through from the clearinghouse which saves time and reduces manual entry.
Cons
I don't think it's configured well for use by a facility and I have been frustrated by how hard it is to reach customer service when issues come up. On top of that, most support staff seem to operate on Pacific Time which creates problems for offices that open early and need live help, leaving us without timely assistance during our busiest hours.

Pros
Overall it is an excellent value for what it offers. I feel there are virtually no limits when it comes to tailoring my workflow and overall experience. The implementation is great and I really like the interface. Also the iPad app is pretty user friendly and pleasant to use. Honestly this is hands down the best EMR I have used.
Cons
There are a few simple things I'd like them to address. For example, they should let me customize the online scheduler more freely and the whole payment flow especially for copays and in-office payments needs improvement. Some features feel a bit half-baked, yet I believe they could be sorted out fairly easily. My biggest frustration mirrors a common issue with EMRs in general as smart engineers build the product but often haven't actually spent time inside a doctor's office to understand how clinicians work day-to-day.

“sales team makes a lot of promises but fake
Pros
The sales team impressed me as they are very good at what they do and tend to make a lot of promises. When it comes to practice management, I particularly like the scheduling features as they feel thoughtfully designed. I also find the reports highly customizable, with plenty of options to tailor them to our needs.
Cons
If you're on a sales call, make them show you and don't accept vague assurances. I had multiple reps tell me things like and then you'd just click this and it would work, or you'd click this item in a template and it would do some fancy thing. In reality, the supposedly thousands of templates they promised aren't there. The template tools are extremely limited and there's no way to build conditional calculations no if statements. My implementation experience was a nightmare. When I asked, they literally had no written implementation plan which stretched the process out forever and drove up costs. Support is outsourced overseas and when I couldn't log into my account from any computer or browser, the tech reply was, Have you tried clearing the browser cache? which felt dismissive and unhelpful.

“extremely customizable and easy

I am really impressed by how extremely customizable this system is and how easy it is for our front office team to use for scheduling, accepting payments and setting up new patient charts. People frequently told us that if you are moving from paper to an EMR, this was the one to pick and honestly we recognized that recommendation even before someone told us. every workflow feels user friendly and the developers and designers clearly optimized the experience so that most actions are only two or three clicks. Charting is quick and efficient too.
Cons
We have some unique requirements in our office and while DrChrono handles those better than any other EHR we've tried, we still need additional customization and more detailed specifications to fully suit our needs. Because we run a cash-only practice, it would be great to have an option, support, or clearer guidance for indicating what level of exam was performed so our records and documentation reflect the service provided.

This definitely seems intended for advanced users. I haven't spent much time with it yet but I am willing to learn. I just couldn't get the billing portion nailed down.
Cons
honestly I needed someone to teach me instead of being tossed into it and told to figure things out. I still need a walkthrough on several parts of the software before I feel comfortable using it.
