Great recording and automatic reminders

Pros

I like that the system records referral sources, diagnoses, payment methods and similar details. I also value the automatic reminders it reliably sends out. It does a great job reporting eRAs and showing a daily transaction history. I find the macro buttons particularly helpful for keeping documentation accurate and timely.

Cons

We're frustrated by the frequent glitches we've faceed with DrChrono. For example, our fax function worked flawlessly for months and then suddenly stopped. Although we've reached out to customer support several times, the issue remains unresolved. The macro buttons have occasionally failed to respond. We've also had problems retrieving past visits for a specific patient as we were certain there were five or six appointments, yet the statement showed only a single visit, among other inconsistencies. They've caused delays and interruptions to our daily operations.

Very user friendly after setup

Pros

Once everything's configured, I find the system very user-friendly after setup it's simple to navigate. I also appreciate the wide range of reports I can generate to get a full picture of the practice's overall health.

Cons

It does take a fair bit of time to get everything up and running but I believe the effort is worth it. In addition, I wish the check-in kiosk operated a little more smoothly.

Great program - not cost effective for this slps solo-practice

Pros

Manageable, smart navigation and amazing customer service.

Cons

Price is affordable but not for solo practice. Other than that, it has some issues with phone and fixing takes a lot of time.

Pros

The software is user-friendly and very easy to use without any help. Weve developed all of our templates on our own without needing any kind of help from drchonos team. The software works well with our team. We started using drchono in late 2013 and yet were still using it. We require portability in our service that we provide, which is very important and I am glad that it has been working fine.

Cons

The support team of drchrono arent really doing a great job at their work. Usually, when we call them for help, theyll always say that theyll get back to us within 24 hours but that doesnt happen, then we communicate with one person on one day and the next day another person is assigned to us, and we have to explain all of our issues again and again, which is extremely frustrating. The customer service responds, which is great but issues being resolved takes several days, without any updates from their end.

Ipad app is awesome

Pros

iPad app is awesome. Online access lets me chart and do other functions anywhere support has been excellent.

Cons

It's a bit pricier than other online EHR vendors. When I am in the exam room, switching screens to see patient data feels clumsy.

Impressive era and customization

Pros

I am impressed by the eRA features, the level of customization and how smoothly online forms and the scheduling tools work.

Cons

However I struggle with the patient ledgers and the lack of clarity around billing.

Challenging templates and awful support

Pros

Personally I really like the scheduling. Plus the complete notes have a clean, attractive layout that I appreciate.

Cons

I find building templates to be really challenging, their customer support has been awful and the system goes down far too often.

appreciate custom templates and sms

Pros

I really appreciate being able to build custom templates and tailor them to my practice. The SMS reminders are great. Missed or tardy appointments have dropped markedly over the months.

Cons

Reaching my reps has been difficult at times. I have worked with many different reps and two separate large patient file transfers dragged on way too long due to poor communication which was frustrating and time-consuming.

Billing features are fantastic

Pros

Personally I find the billing features fantastic!

Cons

For me they clearly have the vision but I feel they still have a long way to go it's not that they're lacking ideas rather, the physical hardware and tech simply don't match up with their innovative concepts and ambitions.

Tailored for our specific use

Pros

I feel like it was tailored for our use based on what we needed and that level of customization isn't something I find with other software platforms. Another upside is being able to pick up the phone and talk to a real person when we need assistance as she has consistently returned calls to our office and has been warm and genuinely helpful.

Cons

Only one thing stood out to me as confusing. When we used the iPad the interface looks different than it does on the laptop so at first I struggled to locate the specific screen I needed. I personally don't think this is a flaw in the software itself, just an interface variation between devices.

Effective. Productive.

organized and user-friendly workflow

Pros

Appreciate the organized workflow and how user-friendly the system is being able to tweak or build my own chart templates, using it on my iPad and the attractive interface all matter to me.

Cons

I have come across missing or imperfect features and a lack of finer details. Getting help from tech support can be frustrating and system templates suffer from syntax and workflow glitches. It feels like the product was built mainly by coders without much input from clinicians.

scalable but can feel slow

Pros

I appreciate the iPad compatibility and the free-text field that sits at the bottom of every template. On higher-tier plans I can use lab integration and an insurance eligibility checker and the system scales as my practice grows. They even offer an option to take over insurance billing if wanted.

Cons

Sometimes it's a bit slow when creating a complete note which, frustratingly, is also the step that saves your edits and switching between screens can feel slow too. Customizing templates is also time-consuming. When I need support I have to email them and then wait for a callback they told me the callback usually happens within an hour although I haven't actually requested support myself and that's just the estimate I was given.

Customizable and keeps patients engaged

Pros

I am able to customize it to our needs and I find it really easy to use. My patients stay engaged, all their education is handled electronically and it runs exceptionally well on Apple devices.

Cons

Occasionally I notice it's glitchy or slow and the desktop interface doesn't perform as well when compared to the Apple app.

easy to use with quick response

Pros

To be honest I am impressed by how easy it is to use. Plus how quickly it responds, the thorough level of detail it provides and the excellent customer service takes it to the next level.

Cons

For me the desktop version lacks any call-tracking feature although I can access call tracking through the mobile app which is a bit inconsistent.

Great value but glitchy and poor support

Pros

For me the scheduling, eligibility and billing tools are pretty easy to use. I also find the price to be very fair given what's included. The implementation team and those who manage eDI enrollments were extremely helpful though I have found general support to be lacking. Overall it is a great value for an MU-certified EHR with electronic billing and payments.

Cons

Sometimes the program behaves oddly. One moment it's fine and the next I'll run into bizarre system glitches. A few workflows force duplication of effort. For example, problems I jot down in a clinical note don't automatically add to the patient's problem list. The chart and notes really ought to sync with each other. When I call for help, the general support team tends to rush me off the line which makes me feel they aren't invested in actually solving my problem. This really needs to be addressed because reliable, everyday support matters a great deal.

system feels rewritten from the ground up

Pros

At first the promise of deep customization is what drew me to this software. I am really into iPads and the Apple ecosystem so learning that DrChrono was built with that in mind impressed me. It genuinely seemed like we could configure it to handle everything our practice needed and I thought adopting it would cut down on production time and help us save money over the long run. I also appreciated how billing and clinical notes were tied together that integration felt useful.

Cons

In practice, the platform felt like it had a lot of promise but wasn't naturally suited to a chiropractic clinic unless I rebuilt much of it myself. It really seemed like I was essentially customizing from the ground up. So at times I felt I was rewriting the system. Our training felt adequate but the trainers seemed impatient. On top of that, several features we needed were locked behind pricier tiers and I already thought the version we bought was costly enough.

easy appointments and billing

Pros

I find it easy to set up patient appointments, bill services and keep track of patient flow. The live claims feed is my favorite as it makes watching collections so simple and convenient.

Cons

It felt quite unlike the other programs I am used to so I needed extra time to get comfortable with the notes area. What bugs me as well is that I cannot call support directly. Like having no phone access to software help feels frustrating when I need quick answers.
