“Eaglesoft is #2 in my opinion

Pros

I find everything about Eaglesoft to be excellent, with the only exception being the clinical chart, which I don't particularly like.

Cons

The charting in Eaglesoft is not very intuitive, which is why I prefer using Dentrix for its better functionality.

This system is server-based and feels quite outdated. It's only fully compatible with Microsoft Office 2010, which is no longer supported by Microsoft, and it works with very few printers and scanners.

With Eaglesoft, I found that I needed specialist technical support for both troubleshooting and maintenance, which added to the complexity.

I love the features for sending claims and using attachments. Checking eligibility directly through the program is easy and essential.

One of the things I'm not fond of with Eaglesoft is the process of rescheduling appointments, as it seems like there could be a more efficient and quicker way to handle this.

Eaglesoft is widely used, so most dental professionals are familiar with it. It's also very easy to learn, and each new version improves it further.

Honestly, Eaglesoft today still looks remarkably similar to how it did back in 2015 when we first started using it. I would have expected improvements in the graphical interface by now.

“An absolute necessity

Pros

This software allows us to do many things simpler dental software cannot, especially with reporting. There are many comprehensive reports that let us see whats happening throughout our practice, including production, collections, insurance, and accounts receivable. Most importantly, it helps us keep track of everything from a clinical and administrative perspective.

Cons

Customer support with Eaglesoft is severely lacking. Every time we encounter any issues or bugs, we are politely told to deal with it until the next software update, and they make it very difficult to perform these updates.

Customer service was great, team managed to get the system back up and schedule a system update.

Cons

When the system crashed, they were able to get the office back online, but it was quite a hassle.

There are so many reports and multiple functionalities within the software. It's easy to customize.

Since not every office uses Eaglesoft, training new staff becomes a challenging task.

Eaglesoft has all the features a dental office needs. It's also easy to train employees on, and they grasp it quickly.

Occasionally, the system glitches, and we have to restart it, but fortunately, this doesn't happen often.

Support answers the phone eventually, but usually, the issue is that development has not fixed an old problem and hasn't kept up with technology.

Cons

Development and fixes for Eaglesoft seem to have stopped 15 years ago. Any changes made today are mainly cosmetic. The imaging resolution is outdated, and I can't save HD images or use HD cameras without lowering the resolution to get Eaglesoft to work. The database is still a 32-bit system in a 64-bit world.

Eaglesoft could definitely use better functions for handling insurance and claims, as the current system is lacking.

There's good integration between the schedule, images, and treatment plan. I love how we can do the same task in 2-3 different ways.

The customization options for teeth charting are very poor, the menus are non-intuitive and complex, and it's extremely slow to incorporate the latest technology. It still cannot be used on Apple devices and takes at least six months to install after every new Windows version. In 2022, it's shocking that it's not mobile-friendly.
