“Easy to use”
Pros
The system is easy to use and to teach. It took me around 2 days to understand and learn the system. This has to be one of the easiest medical tools I’ve used.
Cons
Their fax feature needs to be fixed.

“Review”
Pros
This product is great, it helps doctors in providing better patient care. The system is easy to use and the shortcuts for doctors are great. My overall experience is amazing.
Cons
It lacks the ability to work on multiple screens simultaneously, for example, in the event that I was attempting to enter an issue with somebodys DEXA check I would need to close the first note and compose it on paper to recollect it, then close that window and open another one.

“User friendly with a clear schedule”
Pros
I like how user friendly eCW is and that it's so easy to navigate. Also the schedule is presented in a very clear, pared-down format which helps clinicians and support staff work more efficiently.
Cons
I am annoyed by the intermittent glitches that pop up. For example, I cannot delete certain emails and the system forces me to click 'OK' whenever I change a patient's status from 'ready' to 'check out'.

“freezes frequently with inconsistent features”
Pros
What I appreciate is that the interface is incredibly user-friendly. It didn't take much training for me to begin using it. Another thing I like is that the tools are genuinely suited to a medical office's needs. I am a fan of the color coding because everything is easy to scan. Also, there's a cloud-based web version I can reach from anywhere.
Cons
One thing I dislike is that it freezes frequently and several features don't operate the way they should. For instance, when we attempted to use the kiosk check-in in our practice it would repeatedly freeze and, strangely, still allow patients to sign consent forms electronically. That inconsistency made the whole check-in experience frustrating for both staff and patients.

“eClinicalWorks is my personal favorite eMR for medical practices”
Pros
The search patient feature prevents errors in patient selection. Intuitively organized chart documents simplify finding specific records and quick access displays visit dates.
Cons
Progress notes semi-prepopulated pose a risk of unintended information inclusion raising concerns about data accuracy in notes.

“The Cheap Solution”
Pros
eCW serves its purpose in a community health center offering affordability and accommodating multiple users. While enabling doctor's visit scheduling it's critiqued for lacking innovation.
Cons
Despite its quirks the software struggles with item removal causing reporting difficulties and revealing issues with the database structure and connectivity limitations notably in the OB database.

“Sufficient but lackluster”
Pros
Positioned as a budget-friendly EHR eCW sacrifices innovation and functionality. Initial cost savings are offset by complex workarounds impacting staff efficiency.
Cons
Criticism centers around the software's excessive number of clicks hindering efficiency. Users resort to workarounds such as keeping multiple instances open despite being discouraged by the software provider.

“No redeeming features at all”
Pros
I honestly cannot name a single positive aspect of eCW. in my view, no redeeming features exist.
Cons
Our clinic has survived several major upgrades over the years so we have a long history with the product and I can confidently say we have many of the worst complaints clinicians have about EMRs. The codebase feels absurd and inefficient which makes the whole application slow and prone to dragging down whatever machine it's installed on. Without diving into technical vocabulary, my takeaway is that the platform would benefit more from being discarded and rebuilt from the ground up than from continued patchwork. I find almost nothing about the user experience good. Customization promises are misleading as vendors will tell you anything is possible but in practice creating even basic custom screens, adjusting workflows or building templates is a major headache and time sink. There are too many nitpicks to list but a concise comment from a recently hired physician sums it up perfectly that is Using it is as if the previous EMR I was on was artificial intelligence and now I am using a typewriter. That one-liner is the best summary I have heard of it and it really captures how frustrating it feels to use day to day.

“has too many glitches”
Pros
Sometimes it's easy for me to figure things out and I appreciate that there are several different ways to accomplish tasks.
Cons
I have come across many glitches in the system. Issues that should have simple and quick fixes aren't being implemented and they keep rolling out updates that just make my day to day workflow more slower.

“eCW”
Pros
This system is good for the money. It is easy to use. The functionality that it has is nice and smooth. It is a decent system to use for your practice.
Cons
We feel that there is a language barrier when we communicate with customer support, and it is very frustrating at times. However, once you get used to it, it becomes less overwhelming.

“Great Sales Pitch......Lots of Promises...Very Deceiving Software”
Pros
The Patient Portal functions effectively credited to an attentive and professional trainer.
Cons
Promised customization and workarounds often fall short emphasizing that workarounds must align with the desired patient care and charting methods not merely resolving the software's limitations.

“Search is quite easy”
Pros
It is a good application. It is easy to use. The search procedure is quite easy. Whenever I have to search for a patient either by name, date of birth or any other factors, it is quite easy and seamless. It is very simple, and I would recommend this software.

“Nothing at all, absolute chaos”
Pros
Honestly nothing at all. I have seen our most experienced clinicians shrink their daily patient lists down to eight to ten people instead of the twenty-plus they routinely saw for years using Athena. Over the course of my career I have worked with more than ten different electronic medical records and this one ranks among the worst I have encountered. It feels like we were promised a luxury car and ended up with a clunky 1992 Yugo riding on donut spare tires. I also feel there's no drive from eCW to resolve problems or even respond to our requests. It's been three months of absolute chaos.
Cons
From my perspective, the product they shipped completely lacks many of the fundamental fields any clinician or medical practice needs to document care properly. For example, I cannot record which side a blood pressure was taken on or whether it was measured manually versus automatically. I also cannot enter medication allergies in any practical way as the allergy list forces absurd entries, like allowing 'lymphoma' to be recorded as an adverse reaction while common reactions such as itching or a cough aren't options. Lab results and imaging orders don't integrate smoothly. they fail to link into the chart cohesively. Because of that unreliability, our team has to maintain a paper log of every patient we order studies for since the orders won't consistently return to the chart. None of the fixes we requested during rollout three months ago have been implemented yet and I could honestly keep listing issues for a very long time.

“Frustrating payment entry process”
Pros
One thing I really appreciate is the in-app report dashboard that you can access right from within the software. I am also glad they offer LiveChat for customer support. Whenever I cannot locate something on their site, I jump into a chat with a support tech who, more often than not, has been able to sort out my problem.
Cons
I find it frustrating that payments cannot be entered directly from the appointment screen. Our front desk person spends all day in the scheduling interface but has to leave that view whenever they need to post a payment. I'd also like the system to offer greater customization options.

Pros
What I appreciate about eClinicalWorks is that it comes loaded with featuresasit's a comprehensive medical program with every module you'd need to manage a medical practice, from scheduling to charting and billing.
Cons

“easy data entry and organized schedules”
Pros
We're able to enter patient demographics and all their insurance details without trouble and the system can store an enormous amount of data about each person. In our eight-doctor practice, it keeps each clinician's schedule organized and accessible pretty reliably.
Cons
There are far too many clicks to reach a single feature. The interface isn't very basic so it takes a long time for me to learn the system and figure out workarounds.
