I have found it to be an all-in-one platform for handling electronic medical records, communicating with patients, processing refills and more.

We cannot get it to connect with other tools our practice relies on, such as Sycle and GSI Suite which is frustrating.

What frustrates me most is that the scanning function is incredibly cumbersome. I am constantly annoyed that the software is so particular about which scanners it supports and it will sometimes just refuse to work. I'd really appreciate a simple option to upload files directly from my computer instead of being forced to scan everything because that would be an easy way around the scanner problems. On top of that, it's irritating that the program only runs in Google Chrome as limiting the software to a single browser feels unnecessarily restrictive. Requiring a browser plug-in creates another layer of potential failure and when the plug-in doesn't cooperate I end up wasting a lot of time trying to diagnose and fix the issue instead of getting my work done.

I really love that I can create custom templates and even merge multiple ones together to fit my needs!

Cons

My biggest annoyance is the front-page calendar won't sync with my clinic's encounter page so I cannot easily coordinate appointments.

eClinicalWorks interface is pleasant and I usually get quick responses from their support team.

I encounter frequent errors and it often feels like when support patches one issue, a different problem pops up as a result. Even so, I find it preferable to the previous EHR we used, although it does tend to be slow on many occasions.

For 10 years I’ve been using eClinicalWorks EMR. I’ve had a love hate relation with it. This is a cheaper product than many other EHRs out there, which is one major reason why I chose it in the first place. I can easily copy over and separate out any section.

I might not be able to mention all the cons probably as there’s a long list to it, but here’s a few. The do have good tutorials for you to learn from but when it comes to more detailed use of the system or in-depth education, they’ve got nothing to offer you. They keep charging you extra when they add interfaces, documents etc. The system often freezes, and is unstable, have to reboot it a lot of the time. It is not an easy product or system to use.

the e-prescribing feature is very reliable and easy to use.

What really frustrates me is that I cannot open more than one window at a time which repeatedly interrupts my workflow and slows me down.

One thing I appreciate is that I can enter information manually whenever I need to which gives me more control over the data.

This EMR is quite reasonable and is easy to use. It was working just fine for us until an update came in August or September, that update ruined a lot of things for us. Since that update we’ve been facing a lot of issues that haven’t been fixed yet.

I would never recommend this EMR to anyone knowing that I have been complaining about an issue and it has been 5 months, yet it hasn’t been fixed. They have a very poor customer support team. The response that we get is very late or sometimes none at all. We’ve been facing an issue for quite a long time and have been placing a ticket regularly yet there has been no response to it. The price is reasonable, but if they can’t resolve issues that their customers face and do not even care to respond back then they’re not even worth it.

Pros

It is easy to book appointments, send in refill requests and share patients progress notes. I mean just a couple of mouse clicks and everyone in the office, plus outside colleagues could see the updates.

My only problem with eClinicalWorks is the lack of an integrated file retrieval system as they force us to use an external solution and honestly I would love the option to bundle the entire chart into a single PDF so I don't have to log into a different service just to access those documents.

In my experience ECW has been an excellent EMR. I find the interface very user friendly and easy to use! Compared with many other platforms that force multiple clicks, this one organizes workflow. And once I am inside a patient's chart it's easy to add orders, review of systems and demographic details to the record!

I honestly have no complaints. ECW is among the best systems I have ever worked with.

I really appreciate the patient services as they're excellent and scheduling appointments has become far easier and much more convenient for me now.

Right now, the only thing that bothers me a bit is the troubleshooting options as they could be clearer and more helpful.

One of the things I like most about this application is how easy it is to use. Plus the platform offers a wide range of features, though some are excellent and some are pretty basic. But because it includes such an extensive feature set, the program can deliver many diverse options to users and the organizations that deploy it.

What bothers me about this application is how crowded the interface feels. Also the graphical user interfacecould definitely use a cleaner, more polished look. The software feels overly busy and cluttered which creates distractions and can make it difficult to navigate unless you're already familiar with the system. For new users especially, the density of on-screen elements can be overwhelming and it doesn't always present information in a easy way.

This EMR is more than what you expect, it would definitely make you happy. It is easy to learn and use. It is cloud-based, so it can be accessed from anywhere and at any time you want. Creating campaigns and reminding about appointments is a built-in feature. Due to eClinicalWorks we have been able to covert our 3 databases into a single database, which have made things easier for us, and it helps us focus on patient care.

Due to a language barrier, we sometimes find it hard to communicate with the support team. When adding new interfaces, we have to pay an additional price which is often quite pricey.

eClinicalWorks is very user-friendly. From entering a new patient to scheduling appointments, handling reschedules and processing referrals, all is pretty easy. At Watts Healthcare Center we rely on it for a wide range of tasks. Everyone from physicians and nurses to administrators uses it to communicate.

For me there aren't many major drawbacks because the system offers a lot of useful features. I have noticed a couple of small issues, though the bubbles interface can be hard to understand and creating or exporting reports can be similarly confusing which sometimes slows me down.

Personally, eClinical has been reliable for routine patient scheduling. I appreciate being able to color-code entries and book appointments well ahead of time.

Using it is not easy. As I along with several colleagues, find the layout hard to read. Also the system freezes frequently and we experience recurring connectivity problems.

I have used a lot of EHR systems over the years and to me, this one stands ahead of the rest. It is a user-friendly tool and really simple to use.

My only problem is that the interface feels a little old-school and like a traditional desktop program but aside from that I have no complaints.
