Pros

Cons

poor support

Pros

There are so many sections and I can pull comprehensive details about a patient's social, medical, family and physical history. I am genuinely able to record virtually everything and the program provides a wealth of choices. One of the things I like most is the registry. I can effectively search and filter patients for treatments, tests, lab findings, medications and diagnoses and other details.

Cons

A big frustration for me is that I cannot move between windows as I have to shut one screen before opening another which stops me from comparing information side-by-side when I need to. On top of that, the technical support leaves a lot to be desired. Most of the time they don't respond quickly. I have had situations when ECW was down and support wouldn't even provide a status report. I called repeatedly and nobody gave me any explanation or answers.

Needs improvement

Pros

We really like the feature of receiving lab results electronically. Messaging to doctors and other staff members is robust.

Cons

At times it is hard to move from one screen to another because of so many options. Reports do not fit well on the iPhone and going back to the previous screen is just not possible as it logs you out.

Wide features and customizable charts

Pros

I really like the wide range of features it offers. The chart layout is simple to customize and build exactly how I want, the interface looks attractive and I find it quite easy to get around.

Cons

For payments, I have found that posting could be a bit more organized. it's not hard but the workflow could be tightened up to be more efficient.

Very easy to train all staff

Pros

It is very easy to train all our staff on different parts of the system from drafting medical notes to making edits. Also it is simple to use the e-prescription feature whether I am sending prescriptions electronically or printing them out. And I can easily scan paper medical records and file them into the appropriate category sections.

Cons

I haven't run into any problems using the software. The software rep is always reachable whenever I have questions or concerns about specific areas.

Pros

This program offers a lot of handy features and I find it fairly easy to use.

Cons

I am frustrated by how painfully sluggish the software runs and it forces me to click through numerous menus before I can reach the screen I need.

Look for something else

Pros

We recently shifted from another EMR to eClinicalWorks, and I must say we are not satisfied by it. the decision was not made by us physicians rather by the executive office, so we really can’t do anything.

Cons

The eClinicalWorks mobile application should be banned, it isn’t good at all. The quality is very poor, the design isn’t that good. It is very clunky. It is not reliable at all. It is extremely bad, I don’t know why people would actually use it.

easy to view and bill from window

Pros

One thing I really appreciate is how easy it is to view medications and a patient's medical history and that I can both bill and post diagnosis codes right from the same window.

Cons

When a patient ends up having a long list of medications, I end up needing to click through quite a few different windows just to see all of them which can be tedious.

Not the greatest

Pros

It is okay, you can create reports, create code groupings etc which is helpful. The product is known by many of the providers in our network.

Cons

The system is really slow. It has a lot of features and functionalities but doesn’t work really well. The system is inefficient, and the upgrades come out really late. The system cannot be customized much, and it isn’t the best EMR for a high-volume practice.

Pros

It has all that you might ever need. It has a scheduler, billing service and is an EMR. It can be customized according to your needs and wants. It creates claims. It is suitable for anyone running a medical business.

Cons

We are a mental health office and our insurance plans are different than medical insurance plans but the options available from which we can select are of the medical insurance plans.

the way documents are organized and the use of timestamped actions really helpful.

Cons

One thing I really dislike is that message threads cannot stay inside a patient's chart the way emails do and you can only send a telephone encounter to one recipient at a time. I also found it frustrating that opening a document tied to a chart prevents me from navigating through the rest of the chart at the same time. a document opened from within a chart effectively locks me out of doing anything else in that chart. On top of that, when I plan to work with more than one patient's chart concurrently, I end up having to run a ridiculous number of eClinicalWorks windows because there are no tabs or a way to switch between patients in a single window. That makes my workflow clumsy and creates desktop clutter.

For my medical practice, eclinicalworks has been a great EMR solution. I can customize it to suit the way I prefer to use it daily.

Cons

I found it rather challenging to learn at first because it was my first time using an EMR. it's not an issue anymore.

Good EHR and Billing

Pros

The integrated fax function works really well and attaching documents to charts are easy. They can get most of the things done as long as you are willing to pay for it. The software is easy to learn and use.

Cons

Tech support is not efficient, It is hard at times to understand what they are saying. Having support in the US will help.

Pros

The system itself is reasonable and good.

Cons

The customer support is not so good. Anytime we face an issue, we have to communicate with them and their support team doesn’t seem to be responsive plus it is really hard to communicate with them. They notify you that they’ll call back, but they don’t. There seems to be a language barrier as well with most of their support team. I would not recommend this software to anyone.

Some of the functionalitities on the clinical side are good but overall the system needs a major upgrade

Cons

Worst customer services, I was expecting a better service considering they are a large company. It is hard to communicate with the reps due to language issues.

Too many functions but not easy to use

Pros

They continue to improve the system and stay on top of the dynamic healthcare industry. We always find a feature or functionality for our complex requirement.

Cons

the system is complex and not easy to use for our providers. We were trained many many years ago on how to customize the system but they have upgraded so much over the years that it is hard to learn those changes. They should do regular training so that we can improve the system for the providers so they can focus on patients.

Largest cloud ehr in the us

Pros

I have come to rely on it as the largest cloud EHR in the US and I find submitting data to the RHIO pretty easy with it.

Cons

As a user, I often have to spend time explaining how to adhere to CDA and HL7 standards.
