“Keeps pace with my practice”
Pros
Since 2009 this software has grown right alongside my practice. It has continued to evolve over the years and stays current with real-time changes in technology.
Cons
It performs best when used with Google which isn't always possible. A fast WiFi connection or landline internet works best, while hotspots really aren't ideal.

“clear and user-friendly design”
Pros
Right away the layout felt visually simple and comfortable to move through without being overloaded with medical terminology. It stays simple to read and makes sense from both the provider side and the patient side.
Cons
Nothing to complain about here. I ran into no interface issues at all and it never felt overwhelming to use. Everything is simple and fits well within normal business needs.

“friendly onboarding and stellar support”
Pros
Genesis has a very user-friendly system that makes everything simpler, from scheduling appointments to handling documentation. The rollout went more smoothly than I expected because their onboarding process was thorough and well organized. Customer support has been one of the best parts.. quick to respond, knowledgeable and always ready to help a little extra when needed. The training materials are clear and the team is genuinely kind and supportive which made the whole startup process feel a lot less intimidating.
Cons
Getting used to any new EHR comes with a bit of a learning curve at first. Adjusting to different workflows is not always simple when you're already busy managing a practice. Even so, Genesis guided us well through the setup and was there with support at every stage so although it took some time before everything felt natural, we never felt like we had to figure it out by ourselves.

“Helpful staff controls”
Pros
The task manager works really well and the built-in checks and balances are useful for keeping staff accountable and the workflow organized.
Cons
It didn't feel very friendly for a cash-based practice since the software seems designed more for offices that bill insurance. The ledger was also difficult to read and it would have been much better if credits and balances were shown in red and green.

“cloud access and connected billing”
Pros
Being cloud-based makes it convenient to access from anywhere which has been a big plus. The built-in billing and financial tools are also really valuable. Another benefit is that a lot of my colleagues already use Genesis so there's a solid community of like-minded clinicians around it.
Cons
Our onboarding happened during a period of transition within the Genesis ecosystem so there were definitely some growing pains as the company scaled and worked on integrating different business platforms. On top of that, switching to any new EHR comes with challenges. At this point though, we've made it through that rough patch and are in a much better place. It feels really positive now and we're expecting a very productive 2025 and beyond.

“cloud-based freedom for notes”
Pros
Having a cloud-based EHR was the top priority for me. I was over being stuck at the office late just to finish my notes. Genesis checked that box and it's clear they've been doing this longer than anyone else.
Cons
Like with any new system, the parts I wasn't familiar with were frustrating at first. Now that I've had more time to learn the software, that has been improving a lot.

“Broken setup and useless support”
Pros
There are features and capabilities built into the software that sounded promising but I could never get them to function properly even after going through a second setup months after the first one was finished. It ended up wasting six months of my time along with a lot of my office manager's time.
Cons
Customer service is a joke so honestly it is not even worth bothering with.

“efficient notes and macros”
Pros
Pretty simple to use overall and the note macros make charting much faster and more efficient.
Cons
Users run into red screens without any explanation for why they appear. There are also occasional problems with appointments not displaying correctly or being marked as conflicts when they really are not. Since I was already familiar with the software, the required training felt a bit excessive.

“Solid documentation and scheduling”
Pros
The documentation and scheduling tools have been really helpful and I also appreciate that the system can email initial patient forms directly to patients and pull that information into SOAP notes.
Cons
Getting answers on tasks can take longer than it should and at times the issue still isn't addressed correctly. Some kind of phone support would make a big difference.

“mixed navigation and support”
Pros
Getting around the system is generally pretty quick although some of the smaller details can end up getting overlooked or lost along the way.
Cons
It can handle a lot of different tasks but the customer service side especially for billing support, really needs improvement.

Pros
The step-by-step Zoom training sessions have been really useful for learning how to navigate the system and understand the billing side of it.

“compliant notes and caring support”
Pros
Our chiropractors have had a really positive experience with the note system because it's simple to use, helps keep documentation and coding more compliant and the customer service has been excellent.
Cons
I'd still like to see better automation for statements once a note is finished and sent to claims. Ideally there would be a way to set a client's statement to automatically go out by email. If that can't happen before the claim is processed, it would still help to have the statement automatically emailed instead of generating a PDF or print file that has to be saved first and then manually sent through email.

“faster scheduling and cleaner workflow”
Pros
The daily patient notes look professional and are simple to pull up and taking payments through Fortis is very convenient. The training team has been fantastic and the new-patient process is much faster and more efficient now. It's also really helpful that the doctor has better access to the financial side of the practice and can view the claims workbench.
Cons
The font size is too small and some pages feel overcrowded. We also need individual appointment receipts that show only that day's diagnosis and procedure codes. The only workaround we've found prints every previous visit as well and the text comes out incredibly tiny and difficult to read.

“Powerful reports and integrations”
Pros
There are lots of different reports available and the software is simple to work with. It also connects with other apps like Fortis Payments and Sked which adds a lot of convenience.
Cons
It costs more than some other software options. You also have to use their billing service which takes a percentage and the overall look isn't as polished as you might expect at that price.

Pros
The layout is much more simple than the system we used before and the automation has been a big plus. It's simple to work with and overall feels better organized.
Cons
One thing I'd still like to see is a way for the system to automatically verify whether the exams and daily notes meet the required standard for the 9920x code being billed.
