Pros
Generating reports is convenient, inventory is easier to stay on top of and the POS automatically handles profit and loss tracking. It also connects with Review Wave, includes kiosk check-in and helps manage outstanding items and task reminders.
Cons
One frustrating limitation is that patients can't complete paperwork on their phone, iPad or other non-computer devices. We've actually lost some patients because the intake forms took too much patience especially for elderly patients. Another issue is that the insurance questionnaires in the intake forms can't be turned off even though we're a cash practice and don't need them. On top of that, the system can be slow to load, particularly when the doctor is entering SOAP notes.

“scheduling that just clicks”
Pros
Scheduling patients with this software has been such a positive experience. I've also had really helpful training with a customer care rep who has answered every question I've brought up. Every time we speak, she keeps showing us new ways to make the system fit the way our office works.
Cons
There are times when learning the system feels overwhelming but the customer service team does an amazing job walking us through everything. The workbench is still the part that's hardest for us to understand although hopefully we'll figure it out eventually.

Having everything in one place for management is really helpful and being able to assign tasks to different team members is a big plus.
Cons

From the medical records side to the back-office management tools, the software is simple and has been essential for supporting our rapidly growing practice, both in patient volume and staff. The integration with our other programs has also made a big difference and really helps move our practice forward.
Cons
Support can be hit or miss at times. When I reach out for help, the first person who responds does not always provide the most effective or efficient answer and I usually have to push a bit further before hearing from someone else who clearly knows the software inside and out.

Pros
After going through the training they provide before launch, the software became fairly simple to use and I really appreciate that they offer that support ahead of going live.
Cons
It definitely takes time to learn how to use the software well. I spent hours on calls getting it integrated into my practice which was helpful in some ways but also frustrating at times.

Pros
Moving from a server-based system to Genesis has been a really positive change for us. Since it's web-based, we can access it from anywhere, it runs quickly and the overall layout feels simple. Our previous system worked fine but it had a few quality-of-life issues that we were never fully happy with so this has been a nice upgrade.
Cons
I genuinely miss being able to attach patient photos to their files for check-in. The schedule also doesn't make it very obvious which patients have already checked in and that's a feature my staff miss too.

Pros
The training and support have gone far beyond what I expected. The software is packed with feature after feature and Genesis really puts time and effort into helping users learn it properly so they can be successful. Once you get a solid understanding of how it works, the system really starts working for you.
Cons
With so many features and customization options, getting the software set up and learning how to use it can feel pretty overwhelming and frustrating at first. Even with that steep learning curve, every minute spent has absolutely been worth the investment.

Compared with the software we used before, this one keeps things much more organized. The integration just wasn't as smooth as we expected it would be at the beginning.
Cons
It would be an improvement if we could change case types without having to create a new one just to make that update. We also can't import insurance details from our previous software and we had assumed all of that information would transfer over.

Back in 2008, this company didn't work out very well for me but coming back to it in 2021 has been a different experience because I'm now in a much better position to understand how its components fit together.
Cons

Getting started with this software feels very simple because the interface is simple. It's also highly customizable which makes it fit well into daily workflow. The programmable smart phrases are especially valuable for creating quick, detailed notes and they make patient charting much more efficient.
Cons
It doesn't look quite as polished or visually appealing as some other platforms like JaneApp but it more than makes up for that with stronger functionality and overall usability.

The SOAP notes are very thorough, with options for body part, muscle, condition and severity that make documentation much more complete. It becomes quite user friendly once you've spent a little time getting familiar with it.
Cons
There's a lot of information displayed on each screen so it can feel a bit crowded at times. That said having categorized lists available throughout the screens is still very helpful.
