Easy to use and learn

Pros

It's easy to operate and pretty interactive. I figured it out right away without any instructions.

Cons

I wish there was a way to get an alert if a patient hasn't seen a message in a reasonable amount of time.

Great but locks you out

Pros

Our office doesn't have direct phone lines patients can call into; we use an off-site call center to handle calls, so It is an excellent way to reach patients directly who don't want to use the call center :) It's also handy that you can message other doctors' offices who use Klara to skip phone calls, everything is recorded and it stays HIPAA compliant.

Cons

Overall I am a fan of it but it frustrates me that after three incorrect login attempts it locks you out for an hour with no way to get back in, forcing you to wait. I wish there was a way to reveal what you're typing for the password so you can double-check and avoid mistakes.

It is really simple to use and the speedy patient messaging is awesome!

Cons

It gets messy sometimes because messages pile up in multiple inboxes. Also would be great to be able to edit the messages we send to patients.

Pros

I appreciate how it makes communication so simple between patients, nurses and doctors.

Cons

Sometimes the reminders act buggy, making them kind of annoying due to how frequently and repetitively they appear.

Simplified talking for everyone

Pros

We really like Klara. it's simplified talking to patients and has noticeably improved how we communicate among staff across the office too.

Cons

We dislike that it doesn't integrate with NextGen, so messages must be copied and pasted into each patient's chart.

Great features, booking is confusing

Pros

It's great that patient data stays private and the platform is easy for patients to access from anywhere. The E-form feature is really handy so people can finish paperwork at home before appointments. Another plus is that each patient has their own conversation thread, which keeps charts tidy and separate. It's also straightforward to export, attach and manage documents and exporting insurance cards is seamless which overall makes patient communication and admin tasks much easier.

Cons

We have issues with booking appointments because the language is misleading, so patients often don't realize their appointment wasn't actually confirmed. it displays the appointment info like it's booked but there's no obvious cue that a text confirmation will be sent once it's truly scheduled. Unfortunately this has led to problems at our clinic with several patients each week showing up at the time they believed they'd reserved, which creates scheduling chaos and forces staff to spend extra time sorting things out.

great for messaging

Pros

I like how convenient and great Klara is for messaging a single patient or an entire group.

Cons

Being a separate platform is frustrating. The forms workflow between ModMed and Klara isn't as strong as it should be, which forces patients to enter the same information more than once. Also wish the broadcast feature had finer control, at the moment it's everything or nothing. The option to pick specific patients from a day's schedule to message would be really useful.
