“I have been using Luminello for about 18 months. It has been a lifesaver!
Pros
There are several aspects about Luminello that stand out to me. Firstly, I appreciate that it was designed with mental health professionals in mind, evident in its simple and intuitive design. It offers all the necessary features and services in one place, making it extremely convenient. I particularly find the ability to clone notes, use templates, and exchange secure email messages with patients invaluable, as it reduces the need for time-consuming phone calls. Additionally, features like patient self-scheduling of appointments, automated appointment reminders, and patients being able to access their own receipts and statements further streamline administrative tasks. The inclusion of e-prescribing, billing, credit card processing, and other functionalities adds to its comprehensive nature. Without Luminello, I would either have to hire an assistant or spend a considerable amount of time managing these tasks manually.
Cons
Continuous improvement appreciated, with hopes for future features like e-fax.

“Luminello is just the EHR I have been looking for! It is simple, user-friendly, and easy to use.
Pros
There are numerous aspects about Luminello that are impressive. Firstly, I really appreciate that it was developed by a psychiatrist for mental health providers. You can tell that it was crafted with the user in mind. Their customer support is responsive and friendly, which is a significant plus. Additionally, the pricing plans are affordable, starting with a free option, which is highly beneficial. Luminello offers E-prescribing, including controlled substances, enhancing its functionality. They provide custom note templates and questionnaires that allow me to personalize my practice, adding a layer of customization. Moreover, the scheduling features, including online booking, make it easy to manage all my appointments efficiently. The portal with electronic documents and payments significantly reduces the time I spend on administrative tasks, streamlining workflow. Lastly, the secure messaging feature resolves all of my confidentiality concerns and simplifies communication with clients, ensuring privacy and ease of interaction.
Cons
Few downsides to Luminello have been noted. As a newer Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, it has already surpassed some longer-standing competitors. Any suggested improvements are promptly addressed, with new features continually rolled out, enhancing the efficiency of the platform. While currently meeting the user's needs, they anticipate ongoing enhancements and eagerly await further developments.

“Excellent EHR with amazing support
Pros
There are several advantages to using Luminello that I find noteworthy. Firstly, I appreciate how it seamlessly integrates billing and charting into a single piece of software, which enhances efficiency and organization. The client portal is another beneficial feature, as it allows clients to access and manage their own billing and statements easily. The secure messaging feature for clients adds an extra layer of convenience and confidentiality to communication. I also value the flexibility of the note-taking system, which allows for customization to suit individual preferences and needs. Moreover, knowing that Luminello was developed by mental health professionals for mental health professionals instills confidence in its reliability and effectiveness. Additionally, I'm impressed by the responsiveness of their support and development teams to user suggestions, showing a commitment to continuous improvement. Lastly, the availability of a free option, alongside the full version, offers flexibility for users with varying needs and budgets.
Cons
Very few cons overall, occasional bugs addressed promptly, desire for bulk email statements.

“Wished we would of had a better trainer
Pros
Product training should occur in different stages initially to kickstart the practice and then around three months later. The current setup becomes challenging as users grasp the system during the learning curve. When questions arise there's a gap in training availability leading to extended waits for tech support or navigating online support which often lacks precision.
Cons
The lack of communication between the practice management and EHR sides poses challenges necessitating the duplication of notes. The fax function is consistently slow and prone to failures. The prolonged hold times for tech support exacerbate the issues and there are additional grievances.

“Adding efficiency to our EHR platform...
Pros
The functionality offered by MediTouch software is extensive and we appreciated the added features that significantly enhanced efficiency.
Cons
Experiences with customer service during both sales and transition phases have been problematic. The company's merger might have contributed to these issues causing some disconnects.

“Client Support is Great!
Pros
Client support and training are commendable demonstrating patience when introducing clients to new products. Nextgen proves to be user-friendly in daily use.
Cons
Creating reports requires more access to options. Clients should have the flexibility to generate custom reports from scratch not just relying on pre-loaded reports from NextGen.

“From patient perspective this software is pathetic
Pros
Basic functionalities like emailing your doctor viewing appointments and accessing previous statements are available. However these features are fundamental and not distinctive compared to other software options.
Cons
As someone who designs and implements software solutions professionally I would be ashamed to sell and implement NextMD. The software's unresponsiveness to navigation inputs data presentation issues and difficulties in retrieving information make it subpar. The convoluted process of requesting lab results coupled with inadequate security measures raises serious usability concerns. Overall this software seems woefully inadequate for any medical practice to invest in.

“Ok but going downhill
Pros
The software is versatile and customizable allowing for the generation of comprehensive and useful reports on various subjects.
Cons
Navigating the product proves challenging lacking intuition. The e-prescribe function is notably unreliable often pending for 30 minutes before randomly failing resulting in unhappy patients at the pharmacy. Post NextGen's takeover of Healthfusion support quality has significantly declined with unhelpful assistance regarding the e-prescribe issues.

“long time user (8+ years). very happy with software
Pros
This software operates smoothly without encountering troubles and NextGen consistently puts effort into enhancing the product regularly releasing new updates and patches.
Cons
Despite occasional interface non-user-friendliness straightforward training resolves concerns. However the reporting aspect falls short of expectations necessitating the use of third-party software for comprehensive data mining.

“Potentially great product but needs time and money investment
Pros
It is highly customizable and flexible though with associated costs. The client (PC) software includes an auto-update feature ensuring alignment with the latest server-installed version and boasts a highly customizable reporting feature.
Cons
Customizability comes with associated costs particularly in training and support. To maximize NextGen's benefits extensive end-user and IT support training is highly recommended. Updates and upgrades may pose challenges demanding technical proficiency.

“Absolutely the Worst EMR I've Ever Used!!
Pros
Nothing good about this software
Cons
Numerous limitations plague the software including the inability to add addendums preview incoming faxes or fax out XPS documents. Additionally navigating the EMR is cumbersome and the billing system proves intricate and unintuitive. Users face challenges in moving around within the EMR encountering difficulties in returning to a patient's chart after an accidental exit.

“18 year user
Pros
If a task needs to occur in the EHR chances are it can be built within NextGen. While the structure allows extensive customization it can also be a drawback.
Cons
The software despite its pros demands considerable user maintenance. Opting for the standardized database requires substantial time and effort. Migrating from an independent database is a challenging feat.

“The worst system I have ever used.
Pros
While the doctor expresses satisfaction with electronic health records the administrative side is considered the worst ever experienced.
Cons
Financial inflexibility poses challenges especially in rectifying mistakes such as refunding credit card payments. Applying payments proves cumbersome and generating a receipt with all charges is only possible after claim submission and payment application.
