“Structured and Helpful
Pros
As someone new to the world of insurance and medical billing, I found Patagonia to be a logical and easily understandable software. Despite our small health department, the functionality of Patagonia Health (referred to as a "Cadillac" EHR system) proved to be invaluable. The support team was exceptional, providing guidance and assistance that was vital to my role. The Patagonia billing consultant was an outstanding teacher and resource. I also appreciate the continuous improvements, such as displaying the remaining balance when posting payments.
Cons
Recently, I have experienced a minor issue with Patagonia Health's support. In the past, I was able to reach them easily by phone, but now they can only be contacted through "support tickets." I find this method to be less than satisfactory, particularly when I need to explain complex problems. Moreover, the support I have received lately has seemed less responsive and somewhat distant, which has been a bit disappointing after using the system for six years.

Pros
I find Patagonia highly flexible, which makes it easy for me to use, and I feel that the software's overall structure is simple to explain when I am training new employees.

Pros
Regrettably, there are no positive aspects I can highlight. The systems setup and navigation make it challenging to maintain focus and streamline tasks.
Cons
The program's fragmented interface makes it challenging for me to focus and effectively manage my notes and tasks related to primary care physicians. I would prefer a more unified presentation of information to help streamline my work.

I find it easy to access patient lab results. Also, it includes a built-in Telehealth app that I can easily add to my current workflows. However, the vendor has not shared any details about which third-party applications it connects with.

“Avoid if you can
Pros
Overall, there isn't much to like about Patagonia. While some features are user-friendly, I do not recommend it.
Cons
The system's lack of user-friendliness and apparent outdatedness is a notable concern. Changing outdated processes or widgets is a lengthy and challenging process, constrained by limited customization. Unlike other EMRs like Athena, Patagonia is not as user-friendly or adaptable. Printouts of maternal health records are subpar, and essential features, like searching by phone number, are absent.

Pros
Since 2017, we've relied on Patagonia Health for our EMR. Its ease of use, logical workflow, and customizability for individual views are commendable. Specifically designed for public health, it captures essential information for state and federal reporting.

“Public Health Nurse Perspective
Pros
From the perspective of a seasoned nurse, I initially had concerns about transitioning to an electronic health record (EHR) system. However, after getting acquainted with the software, I discovered that the documentation process became much easier and more efficient. I appreciate the systems user-friendly interface, which allows me to locate any necessary information and make comments as needed. Additionally, the reporting capabilities for inventory management, tracking, quality improvement initiatives, and accessing records have been highly beneficial. Moreover, the legibility of all documentation is a significant advantage.
Cons
One drawback I have encountered is that our specific activities in public health are not accurately represented in the "Assessment" and "Plans" features. As a result, we often have to select options that are only somewhat relevant, which can be frustrating. This limitation is observed on a daily basis and has room for improvement.
