PowerMed is an EMR and practice management system built for solo providers and clinics. Some users have mentioned that adding drop-down boxes in charting could enhance overall efficiency. Even so, its all-in-one functionality for documentation, billing, and scheduling makes it a reliable option for locally hosted medical workflows.

Powermed Features
PowerMed features an EMR that is natively built into the platform—no third-party tools or add-ons required. The software supports dynamic charting where providers can switch between free-text input and structured templates mid-note. It includes a complete charting toolset tailored to a wide range of specialties and is backed by a physician-guided design team. Combined with PACS capabilities and a document management system, the EMR offers solid functionality designed to minimize workflow friction.
PowerMed Billing is built from the ground up to be fully integrated and customizable. The system includes enterprise-level patient demographics, customizable CPT, ICD, HCPCS codes, super codes, and real-time reporting broken down by provider, payor, or patient. Billing and EMR are part of the same system, allowing coded visits and claims to auto-populate for electronic submission or CMS1500 printing—eliminating redundant data entry.
At the core of the Practice Suite is its scheduling module, which is accessible from any section of the software. Appointments can be viewed by day, week, or month and filtered by the provider. The scheduler supports repeating appointments, customized availability routines, and enterprise-level calendar coordination for the entire practice.
PowerMed software offers extensive customization, allowing users to tailor navigation, screen appearance, and even language settings. The system includes specialty modules for practices such as cardiology, dermatology, family practice, pediatrics, psychiatry, surgery, and more—each backed by a highly flexible charting architecture that can be configured on the fly by the provider.
Both Practice Suite and SOLO versions support Windows and macOS operating systems. PowerMed SOLO can also run on iPads via LogMeIn or VNC and even from a USB drive—offering flexibility for concierge physicians or mobile solo providers. While SOLO is limited to a single workstation and cannot be networked, it retains full feature parity with the Practice Suite.
