Simple to schedule appointments

Pros

Scheduling appointments is not complicated and checking someone in takes seconds. I also like having old notes and records stored together so I don't have to dig through files.

Cons

It usually takes a little extra time for a record to load when I open it. It isn't a big issue but it does slow me down when I'm trying to move through notes back?to?back.

visually attractive

Pros

It feels simple to operate and the layout is nice to look at. Nothing feels cramped or cluttered when I'm working.

Cons

I wish I could flip back and forth between my notes page and the schedule more easily. Sometimes it feels like I have to jump through several screens instead of just switching over quickly.

Billing is connected to the notes

Pros

I like that I can reuse parts of previous notes and adjust them for new sessions. Having billing tied in with documentation keeps things connected. Logging in is quick and it's helpful to see my coworkers' schedules too.

Cons

Changing passwords so frequently becomes confusing, especially when I'm logging in often. Also, when I reassess and create new goals, I wish those automatically appeared in the next week's note instead of having to manually move them. And needing to complete a discharge summary even when I'm not recommending therapy just so the patient shows as discharged adds extra steps.

Affordable but Lacks Quality and Fax Automation

Pros

It's very budget-friendly, which is great for cost-conscious teams.

Cons

The build quality isn't great, and there's no automated faxing option, which slows things down.

Great free option but difficult note-taking

Pros

Back when it was free, we found it served as a great option for basic scheduling while we were getting our practice established.

Cons

Note-taking feature felt really hard to use and it took me too long to finish a basic note.

Simple no-frills software to get started

Pros

It was a simple, no-frills software to get started with. Back then it did not offer nearly as many features as it does today but it fit our needs perfectly and helped us get our practice up and running in those early days quickly.

Cons

I found entering notes became overwhelmingly complex and much too time-consuming once our patient volume started to grow.

Worst customer service forces a switch

Pros

I am pleased with the pricing structure as it's affordable and makes sense given what the software provides. Plus the system includes the core features I require to properly document patient records in routine clinical workflows.

Cons

The platform is missing customizable reporting, flexible layout options and many functional features across almost every area of the EHR. For the price point, I'm prepared to accept some lack of customization but the customer support is so poor that it alone will force me to switch systems when my renewal comes around. They rarely pick up the phone, the advertised live chats appear to be nonexistent and their team seems extremely selective about which tickets they respond to. It is the worst customer service I have dealt with in a very long time. That level of support makes any small savings on price not worth the headache.

Outstanding user friendly platform for years

Pros

Over the past eight-plus years I have relied on Practice Fusion and honestly I think it is outstanding. The platform feels very user friendly and easy to navigate, so my whole staff learns how to use it fast and gets comfortable right away since everything is neatly organized and items are clearly categorized.

Cons

I used to like that it was free but now there is a charge but despite that change I still find it very useful and continue to use it.

Quick pickup and simple to show colleagues

Pros

It did not take long for me to pick it up and after getting comfortable with how it worked, I found it simple to show colleagues how to use it.

Cons

We only used it for a short time because we ended up moving to the system that our billing department was already using.

Free tier is perfect but lacks metrics

Pros

the free tier was perfect as I could easily build templates and record patient encounters without any hassle.

Cons

However it does not keep track of metrics from one visit to the next and I really need to understand the system well to ensure my documentation is done correctly.

Affordability stood out but complex

Pros

To me, the affordability stood out. When I was getting the practice off the ground, it was the most affordable option to get things up and running.

Cons

I did not find it easy to use as there were too many different steps required to complete tasks. I also felt there weren't enough templates available.

If you are looking for a better system, your research ends here

Pros

I think it's great, and we recommend it to all our doctors who are looking for a better system. And as per my experience Practice Fusion is really easy to use and it is an excellent tool for keeping electronic records. One of the things I love most is that it's web-based, so I can access it from anywhere.

Cons

I do not really have anything I dislike about it.

Requires a bit of practice

Pros

The program is inexpensive and I find it easy to use.

Cons

I have noticed a lot of redundancy in the system like there are too many places where the same information can show up, depending on who entered it or how the practice works. It's not ideal and can definitely get confusing.

Unreliable functionality and constant outages

Pros

It is easy to use for anyone at every level in the office.

Cons

As per me the biggest problems are customer support, unreliable functionality and constant outages. The staff are mostly unhelpful which just wastes my time and leaves questions unanswered. Having relied on this platform for more than a decade, I have watched it decline, so now I am actively searching for a replacement.

A review from a doctor's point of view

Pros

It was really good and really user-friendly. Training new staff was not a problem too because it's not at all complex. One of the best part is that it was free. And once it became more intuitive, they even offered free transfers, which was a great bonus.

Cons

They suddenly raised the cost, and while it was working well, the price became quite high. I was using Office Ally for billing.

Pros

The software is easy to use, very accessible and affordable. I also have to highlight the customizable templates and how much time they save me.

Cons

Only drawback I have noticed is occasional slowness which interferes with my workflow and lowers overall efficiency.

Costly with non-existent support

Pros

I really like the e-prescribing functionality and overall the EMR doesn't frustrate me too much as a medical provider. That said it doesn't offer useful features that my therapist colleagues need.

Cons

In my experience, it's gotten costly and the support is almost non-existent. The subscription terms are inflexibile and chat support is unresponsive when I reach out for help, even failing to give me a contact to escalate concerns to the company's decision-makers.
