Here is a cautionary tale... Rethink has a decent fleshed out system to do what many of us need to. The program itself was not our issue. They engage in predatory contractual behavior. We had a 1 year contract which auto renewed on Dec 1. We initiated mutual discussions on October 17th regarding reducing our package and number of providers. There was never any follow-up on ReThink's end. We followed up multiple times and there would be a response to our follow ups but nothing further as we honed in on a mutually agreed direction. All correspondence was left ambiguous. We yet again reached out in December to check the status or what we needed to do and were told the contract auto-renewed and changes needed to be completed prior to December 1st. We were active in this processes and followed up prior to December first, they declined to engage in healthy business practices as we were willing to stay on at a more limited scope and would likely use them more broadly in the future. Instead the answer continued to be "it auto renewed, nothing we can do" and continuing to charge $2600/mo. We are now disputing their charges through legal routes. This is not some rant from an unhappy customer. We stuck to the contract, paid in full for the year, engaged in good faith discussions about restructuring prior to the auto renewal date, and were willing to stay on with the restructure. It is now clear their ambiguous correspondence and lack of any actual follow up then immediately leaning on this auto renew date was likely intentional so it would renew at the same high rate. This is predatory corporate behavior, and they just lost a customer they likely would have had at even higher rates for many years. Beware of this if you use them. Again, program itself was not the issue here. It is the predatory business practices.

Rethink gives us really detailed clinical oversight. We are able to go fully paperless which is great and it makes handling audits way easier. Also I love that we can collect data in real time and our clinical staff can review it by the next day, so we can make quick decisions when needed.
Cons
This might not be the cheapest program, but from my perspective it definitely works well for a small practice.

I find the data representation inaccurate and the system very slow to load anything. Looking at the schedule is especially frustrating, especially when compared to ABA Schedules. Customizing programs is also a bit of a hassle. Honestly, I think using Excel might be a better option at this point.

We as a company absolutely love everything about Rethink. However, lately, it is been a bit slow when saving appointments and entering data, which can be a little frustrating.
Cons
I am not a fan of the new scheduling update. When you navigate under an employee's schedule and click on a billable appointment, then back out of it, it automatically displays only that client under that employee instead of the entire schedule.

I did rate my experience with the software a solid 7 out of 10. When it's not freezing, it is highly user-friendly and packed with helpful resources. As the software's performance really depends on whether it freezes or not though. But I like that the program library lets you find other useful tools for clients and the training videos are great for educating parents. Overall, it is easy to navigate and works well when it is running smoothly.

Deploying this system was not at all difficult as it was way smoother than other tools like Catalyst, which had a bunch of technical glitches. Also I was really impressed with how quick and hassle-free it was to get everything up and running. Plus, it offers some handy customizable presets, so setting up a new student's profile is pretty simple too. Overall, it is been easy to work with and has enough flexibility to make it fit our needs without much hassle.
Cons
The main problem with ReThink is that it has limited options to correct inaccurate data after the point of sale. Additionally, getting in touch with support can be somewhat difficult as reaching them by phone may require multiple attempts and is not as straightforward as using a chat feature.

One of the downsides I have noticed is that it's difficult to easily access a client's progress. You have to go into each program separately just to see the graphs. Another issue is that the system doesn't automatically master out targets and set new ones when they are mastered. You have to manually check or uncheck maintenance targets, which the system doesn't handle on its own. Overall, it would be so much better if there was a dashboard where I could easily see everything like the client's progress, which targets are progressing or failing, graphs and have the system automatically manage the targets. It would make the program much more functional.

I find it easy to write session notes, search for client info, and submit hours using this platform.

My biggest issue with the system is that it tends to time out, and sometimes I lose all my work because of it. I also think it would be really helpful if there was an option to add photos. I did really like to see a program checklist for technicians that they can look at before starting to collect data like something that shows what skills were worked on in the previous session. Also, it would be helpful to have a report where technicians can see updates from supervisors, like notes, changes to programming and other updates. When I used to do paper data recording and session notes, the techs could read through the supervisor's notes and updates before starting their session and I think that would be really useful now too.

Rethink is incredibly user-friendly. New staff members are able to learn how to collect data, access our goal bank, analyze automated graphs, and submit session notes that our families can review within their first week of employment. It's also user-friendly for families, as they can see pictures of their children, read session notes, view their child's goals, and always have access to their child's schedule.
Cons
Collecting partial interval/whole interval data with Rethink can be tricky. Once you open a child's program for the day, the timer starts ticking, even if you're not ready to collect data on that specific program.

I really like Rethink. It captures everything I need as a small business owner. Also I like how the time sheets are linked to session notes and find the payroll and billing exports very easy to use and scrub.
Cons
I think the scheduling area could be more user-friendly. Coming from Central Reach, where I could drag and drop appointments, I miss that feature. My biggest request is to view multiple staff and client schedules simultaneously on the main page, rather than just in the group calendar section. It is easier to visually plan scheduling this way. Clinically, I am really hoping for manual mastery instead of having to work around by changing the mastery criteria. Also, it would be great to have playlists that group programming together. Although staff can check or uncheck items in the skills sections, having a playlist available from the back end would be fantastic.

I really like the individual customization Rethink offers for our company. The immediate feedback on questions and issues is fantastic. The task analysis and video models for training on software use and plan implementation are excellent. I really like the RBT coursework, though I wish there were an option to let people take the class without paying for the whole program if they are not using all the features. Many of our potential behavior techs do not get past the classes.
Cons
The scheduling system does not allow me to schedule multiple staff members or kids simultaneously. For example, scheduling staff meetings requires me to go into each staff members schedule individually rather than doing a group schedule. The treatment library feels too educational and is not practical for clinical use. The behavior reduction program layout is too simplistic which makes it easy to just check off boxes. The type-in boxes are too small, even though I can write long instructions. I also do not like that the system requires extensive knowledge of behavior before inputting data, which complicates tracking new behaviors. I did prefer if techs could enter behaviors while BCBAs handle the functional determination. Its awkward to correct errors made by technicians after verifying appointments. We really dislike the interval and duration timers they stop when staff moves away from the page and the alerts for timer completion are not noticeable enough. They do not work for baseline collection at all, so we currently track interval programs manually. The app records zeros if someone logs in to check a childs programming, and since most of our techs prefer using their phones, this causes a lot of false data.

Cons
Some of the programs take time to implement, which is not always convenient from a business perspective. It would be great to have a more extensive notes section beyond whats in the demographic area. If there is an issue with Rethink, such as speed or software updates causing downtime, a notification on Rethink when logging in would be helpful so our field staff is aware at the same time. While Rethink currently notifies us of new updates, it should also notify us of any issues.

I find that several areas of the software should pre-populate with information, but I often end up manually typing fields that I believe could be automatically filled from other parts of the software. For a tool that promotes ease of access, there are still too many clicks and typing required to get tasks done. The excessive drop-downs and window switching make it cumbersome to quickly view or access information. While I understand the need for detailed documentation in Applied Behavior Analysis, it feels overly complicated when I need to quickly glance at something. Data can be easily deleted by authorized users, so having timestamps or a security log of who edited or deleted data would be beneficial. Additionally, there are several bugs, like filters resetting and lists jumping back to the start after entering text.
