custom forms and simple setup

Pros

The custom intake forms are a feature I've really appreciated because they're quick to build and flexible to use.

Cons

One limitation we ran into was having to create multiple practitioner profiles even though there's only one practitioner in the office, just to allow double booking for online scheduling on one service and to assign different durations to certain services. It would also be really helpful to have the ability to upload images into the intake form, like a body map clients can view and fill out visually.

affordable features and responsive support

Pros

Switching all of our patients into the system was very simple and the support team has been fast and helpful whenever we needed them. For the price, Noterro includes a lot of useful features and it's nice that I can usually find answers or instructions on my own if I get stuck. I also appreciate that they keep rolling out updates and adding improvements that make the software even better to use.

Cons

Patient access when multiple therapists are using the system is limited. Each practitioner should have separate access to patient records even if they are involved in treatment. That feels like an important privacy concern that really should be addressed.

Being able to customize our own forms and agreements has been a huge plus and having everything securely accessible online makes the whole process even better.

One thing I'd really like to see is health history updates made within the SOAP note automatically carry over to the health history form as dated updates especially to meet the CMTO's Standards for Health History Updates. top-notch layout and support

Pros

Right from the start the layout and user interface felt polished and simple and the frequent updates plus top-notch customer service have made the whole experience even better.

Cons

I'd still love to see more flexibility with customizing the actual client charts. I don't use the SOAP format so being able to build my own chart templates would be really helpful. I'd also appreciate a way to resend a client's existing chart so they can update it themselves, instead of relying on the snapshot feature.

affordable and polished fit

Pros

Noterro caught my attention right away because the pricing was fantastic and the look and feel really matched the style of my business. I checked out a few other options that were reasonably priced too but they just didn't reflect my brand the way I wanted.

Cons

A little more flexibility when it comes to customizing clinical notes would be good although the rest of the forms were very user-friendly. I'd also love a better TelusHealth integration but I don't want to take on the extra cost when I can handle direct billing separately so having more affordable options there would be a big plus.

flexible and user-friendly setup

Pros

Running my practice with Noterro has been a really positive experience because it's simple for administrators, practitioners and clients to use alike. On top of that, the customization options make it even more appealing and a really strong fit for my practice.

Cons

The only thing I'd like to see is integration with Square Appointments although there are still workarounds that help manage it.

Pros

Using this in Guyana south America has worked really well for us. Handling payments is simple and it's been a very convenient way to keep schedules and patient files together in one place.

online files are a standout

Pros

This software has been excellent. Most of it is very simple to use and the online files feature is easily my favorite part.

Cons

Getting it integrated with my previous software took quite a bit of effort. I also wish it worked better with Square payment terminals and desktop systems and I'd love the website side to be more developed since it feels a little bland right now.

affordable booking and stellar support

Pros

Whenever I've had questions, the customer support has been outstanding. Being able to book an online meeting and have someone walk me through things step by step is incredibly helpful. The team is consistently knowledgeable and clearly knows the software very well. The online booking feature is also really valuable especially since it's included at no extra charge. On top of that, Noterro is very reasonably priced for everything that comes with it.

Cons

One part that hasn't worked well for me is the dashboard since I don't find it very user-friendly or useful. The calendar tab is much clearer and works far better as a home view for checking clinic notes, billing and daily appointments so I personally never use the dashboard. There's also no built-in feature for sending mass emails to clients for updates or general announcements. Using MailChimp as an integration wasn't ideal and it meant learning a separate platform just to handle that task. For anyone who isn't especially comfortable with computers, that process could feel very difficult. Another limitation is the lack of email history so there's no simple way to confirm whether a receipt was already emailed or whether a reminder was sent. The clinical notes workflow was also somewhat confusing in the beginning and took time to learn. Because there are so many features packed into Noterro even basic tasks can sometimes feel a little overwhelming to navigate.

affordable tools and helpful support

Pros

Running a small clinic I appreciate that Noterro is affordable and still gives me everything I need to maintain accurate organized client records as well as clear financial tracking. The support has also been consistently quick and helpful whenever I've needed assistance.

Cons

I'd really love to see more control over appointment times in the self-booking feature. Since it can't currently push clients toward specific time slots, I end up managing bookings manually and keep the self-booking/availability option turned off. With a small practice, I don't want to open an entire day only to end up with gaps between appointments. Ideally, if I already have a one-hour booking at 10:30 a.m., the system would only offer times like 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. that day so appointments stay back to back. Hopefully that makes sense. It's definitely not a dealbreaker, just something that would really improve the scheduling experience.

helpful snapshots and cleaner booking

Pros

A feature I really appreciate is that the public only sees my actual open appointment times instead of a full schedule with booked slots mixed in. The pinned snapshots in patient charts are also really useful since they save me from digging through intake forms every time I need a quick reminder of what we were working on.

Cons

something that's missing is a message history for client communication. I can't tell whether an email was delivered, opened or clicked. I'd also love separate labels for services so I could list something like Indie Head Massage, hot stone or Matrix Repatterning internally while still having the receipt show Massage Therapy. The landing page and booking page work fine but they feel pretty plain and purely functional. It would be nice if they looked a bit more polished and softer visually. I'd also really like to see a Facebook group or some kind of user community where Noterro users can exchange ideas, talk about how they manage the software and share feedback for future improvements.

solid value for my practice

Pros

The pricing works really well for my small business. It's fairly simple to use and, for the most part, it handles what I need it to do.

Cons

There is definitely a bit of a learning curve at the beginning. Forms were the toughest part for me and it took a while to build one that really fit the way I work. There's also no option specific to Osteopaths which would be a helpful addition. Another limitation is online booking.. you can't set up a family profile so people often book family members under their own name and I end up having to manually correct it.

secure notes anywhere

Pros

Having access to client notes anytime and from anywhere has been incredibly helpful and it's reassuring to know the platform stays compliant with security requirements.

Cons

A few additions would make it even better, like letting clients choose add-ons while booking treatments, adding a direct QuickBooks integration so invoices don't need to be exported, sending weekly or custom email campaigns to client lists with availability and offering discount codes for clients to apply during booking.

fantastic booking and support

Pros

After trying most of the available options, I ended up spending nearly 20 hours comparing them before choosing Noterro and I'm really happy with it. It handles scheduling soAP notes, client self-booking and billing in a very user-friendly way. The support from the developer has been even more impressive. I reported a bug once and it was fixed within hours which is the fastest response I've ever seen from a developer.

Cons

I also use it for my personal training business so it would be really helpful if it included subscriptions and a way to track clients' remaining sessions or classes. I'd also love the ability to collect credit card details through Square although I've been told that feature is already in development.

feature-rich support that delivers

Pros

Having everything in one place makes this software incredibly useful and it ends up being a very feature-rich product. The customer service is something you hardly come across anymore. I've sent 3 or 4 questions so far and every time I got a real answer within hours. On one occasion, they even went into the system and fixed the issue for me themselves.

Cons

The only things I've noticed missing at this point are electronic insurance billing for the United States and options for client memberships.

wonderful support from the team

Pros

Opening my home-based business on short notice meant I had very little time to get everything in place and the support team was fantastic throughout the process. They were incredibly helpful, guided me through each step and walked me through any issues that came up along the way.

Cons

I've run into a few hiccups with the insurance billing and invoicing systems but thanks to the strong support, those problems are usually resolved without much trouble.

fantastic scheduling and booking

Pros

It's honestly the best software I've used and the pricing is hard to beat. Getting started with Noterro was simple and everything from setting it up to updating my schedule and booking clients has been really simple.

Cons

The one thing I'd still love to see is a way to cap how many 90-minute massages can be booked in a single day. I can manage that myself when I book clients manually but there's no way to control it when they schedule online.
