“color coded navigation helps!”
Pros
The calendar's color options are a big win for our team I can see who's got which appointments at a glance, without staff having to hunt around. Navigation is also very simple, jumping between pages and tabs on the screen feels quick and adaptive.
Cons
Forms builder is where things get limiting. I'm not sure if it's my comfort level with the tool but I can't set up side by side items, add checkbox fields or draw lines to separate sections the way I need.

“quick customer service”
Pros
Customer service responds really fast and that's been consistent every time I've reached out. Whenever a problem pops up or I have a question, they're ready to jump in and help with whatever I need.
Cons
Tracking and remembering the updates they roll out can be a bit tricky. It's not always simple to stay on top of the changes though the knowledge base helps a lot when you're trying to catch up.

“responsive live support”
Pros
The best part of yourTheraNest for me has been the quality of customer support. Being able to talk with a real person has been a huge help I can ask questions, get simple guidance and get my issues handled without dragging things out. The team's responsiveness and genuine willingness to assist have really improved how the whole process feels.
Cons
One downside I ran into was realizing after a few months that the RCM service wouldn't process my insurance billing since I was out of network. I really wish that had been made clear sooner because it would've let me plan better and avoid wasting time, money and energy.

“claim submissions is easy”
Pros
Its customer support has been solid. I can email them with any questions or concerns and they usually reply within 24 hours. I also appreciate how simple it is to submit claims through the system.
Cons
Using the platform takes some getting used to since there are multiple functions to learn. The learning library includes content for other medical areas that the mental health side doesn't really cover and that makes the navigation feel more confusing especially when I'm trying to figure out how to use the training resources. Pricing also isn't as transparent as I'd expect, it isn't immediately clear what the total cost is to use the system. I noticed there may be an extra charge for additional claim submissions. That's not a problem for my practice volume right now but it wasn't made clear during the initial demo or in the walkthrough about what customers should expect to pay.

“solid telehealth”
Pros
Live chat for customer support is really helpful and I appreciate how quickly I get a response whenever I have a question. It makes it easier to get things sorted without waiting around.
Cons
Sometimes I run into problems on the client side where people can't get into the Telehealth session. Sometimes the system shows they're "connecting," or it never fully connects and they stay in the waiting room the entire time. Also, it would be helpful if there were reminders about missing notes on the task page, instead of having to manually complete everything myself.

“billing and scheduling made easy”
Pros
This tool really helps me stay on top of my billing and payment tracking and it keeps my therapist's busy schedule organized too. Whenever I run into any issues, customer support is consistently responsive every time I reach out, they jump on the problem and get it resolved as fast as they can.
Cons
I do wish it saved my info automatically. A few times I've been in the middle of typing and forget to hit save and then I end up losing what I entered.

“smoothed out with clinical group”
Pros
It has been around for a while but it's noticeably gotten smoother since Ensora acquired Theranest. The interface is really easy to use and I appreciate being able to join the Clinical Group feedback process basically I can test the updated applications before they roll out to the rest of the clinicians. Also, I'm able to request new applications and also ask for changes to existing ones. The subscription setup is a huge win, we pay per client group instead of per individual clinician which has helped our team tremendously. I also switched back to Theranest after the acquisition because my previous EHR was priced in a way that felt outrageous and I haven't regretted it.Case notes are another strong point I can modify them to match what our specific group needs. Customer support also feels better than it used to. Over the past two years, I haven't run into any issues that required repeated follow ups and service has been consistently solid.
Cons
Nurse practitioner session/progress notes are fairly limiting and didn't fully cover what our NP needed. We ended up using a lot of workarounds to make it fit. That said, it might be something they're actively improving I just can't confirm where it stands right now.

“all in one workflow”
Pros
TheraNest didn't take long to get the hang of and it covered everything I needed to run my therapy practice efficiently. Scheduling, documentation, billing and client management are all in one spot so I could spend more time with clients and less time stuck on admin tasks. As my practice expanded into a group setup, the platform stayed reliable and simple to use throughout.
Cons
Once I started growing beyond traditional therapy into coaching, education and digital programs, TheraNest showed its limits. I wanted more flexibility around client journeys, plus stronger automation options and integrations for businesses that blend clinical services with coaching. A few of the workflows also felt more restrictive compared to newer all in one business platforms that handle mixed service models better.

“Limited customization”
Pros
AI generated notes have been genuinely useful for my daily charting workflow. They save time and make documentation feel more organized especially when I'm trying to stay on top of appointments. That said, I really want a bit more control over the wording. Since I'm a medication provider, I don't want the notes to use the term "therapist," and being able to customize those note details would make a big difference for how I present information.
Cons
There have also been a lot of technical headaches. I've run into trouble setting a default microphone and camera and that issue is still unresolved. The reliability of the audio/video setup has been inconsistent enough that it interrupts the flow when I'm trying to use the app.

“strong metrics”
Pros
There are lots of ways to capture metrics including reports and filters, along with other tools. It's been really helpful for spotting trends and understanding what's going on over time.
Cons
Bugs and glitches still showed up within the system. After years of using it, most problems have been ironed out but a few took a long time to resolve. We ended up learning workarounds though so it's not something we can fully rely on 100%.

“has some billing limits”
Pros
So it brings together notes, access to client files and scheduling in a single place for our volunteer team which keeps everything from getting scattered across tools. It's also pretty simple to use if someone already has a basic understanding of EHR systems.
Cons
Our setup is a bit different since we don't bill insurance and the invoicing workflow isn't great for teams that manage invoices internally. It also feels poorly designed for writing group or couples notes.

“Excellent overall!”
Pros
Coming from Theranest the switch has felt pretty familiar. The Standard Notes template is solid and I appreciate having PHQ9 and GAD7 measures sitting right above the note super convenient during a session when I need to administer them quickly. Billing is handled by my biller so I can't really comment on that part.
Cons
Daily schedule page is the one thing I keep bumping into. I'm forced to scroll to see all my appointments and if my browser window isn't fully expanded, I can't use the "copy note from last session" option on my last client of the day. It's a bit frustrating. I also want more flexibility with dynamic forms loading a PDF into a form template feels more complicated than it should. Adding certain measures through manual steps takes far too long so I end up doing more work than I'd like.

“Good docs organization and chat”
Pros
The new file organization feels a lot cleaner and navigation is noticeably more simple. The General Docs folders help keep everything in the right place and the staff chat feature makes internal communication quick and simple.
Cons
A few clients have run into trouble getting into the client portal sometimes it's because a link has expired and other times it seems they just don't realize that forms are assigned for completion after they sign up. A useful upgrade would be a pop up when they log in that reminds them their provider sent forms that need attention, plus direct instructions for where to find those forms inside the portal. That should boost form completion and cut down on confusion.

“all in one billing and scheduling”
Pros
As a solo practitioner running a private practice, TheraNest has functioned like a real assistant for me. It handles billing, scheduling and insurance submissions all in one place which keeps everything organized without needing multiple systems.
Cons

“Makes work easy”
Pros
TheraNest really stood out to me for being both user friendly and efficient when running a mental health practice. Scheduling appointments was simple, client records stayed neatly organized and documenting sessions didn't feel like a chore. The built in billing and insurance claim tools were a big plus too they cut down a lot of the back and forth admin work and reduced the time spent on paperwork. I also appreciated the client portal, it let clients fill out forms, view documents and message securely which helped keep everything moving without extra effort. Also, the reporting features offered practical insights into how the practice was performing day to day. Overall, the platform improved my workflow and boosted productivity so I could spend more time delivering quality care instead of getting stuck on administrative tasks.
Cons
While scheduling, documentation and billing were handled competently, certain workflows took multiple steps and didn't always feel as adaptive as I hoped. Report, form and template customization can also feel restrictive which makes it harder to adjust the setup as the practice grows and evolves. There were moments where switching between sections felt a little tiring and that sometimes slowed daily operations. Customer support was generally helpful but response times seemed to vary depending on how complex the issue was. Even with those gaps, TheraNest came across as a solid platform, with clear room to improve efficiency, flexibility and the overall user experience.

“TheraNest workflow stays organized”
Pros
Navigating it has been pretty simple for me once I spent a little time getting used to it. The interface is simple and the layout doesn't feel overwhelming so it's easier to locate the basics without wasting time. One of the biggest wins is having everything in one place. Scheduling, notes, client information and billing are all handled in the same system which means I'm not bouncing between multiple tools. That centralized setup saves time and keeps my day to day process more organized and it genuinely feels like an all in one practice management platform. The scheduling tools are also a favorite. Booking appointments, checking my calendar and sending reminders all flow smoothly and it takes a lot of mental effort off my plate compared to doing everything manually. Client documentation is another area that feels easy to manage. Keeping charts, notes and treatment plans organized has been pretty clean overall. While some templates are somewhat limited, the documentation flow still stays manageable and doesn't create unnecessary friction. Support has been helpful when I connected with the right person. It isn't flawless but the onboarding resources in particular made a big difference while I was getting started. Overall, TheraNest isn't flashy but the practicality really helps keep my workflow organized and under control.
Cons
The most frustrating part has been the technical glitches mostly small issues but they're disruptive enough to interrupt my workflow. For instance, reminders don't always send reliably, certain fields don't save unless I follow a specific click order and parts of the system sometimes freeze at inconvenient times. Individually they're not always catastrophic but together they add up and get in the way more often than I'd like. Another point is that reaching basic tasks can require too many clicks. At times, I felt like I had to go through several screens just to get where I needed to be and some features didn't land where I expected them to. Once you learn the layout it becomes workable but it still doesn't feel truly smooth. There are also limitations in a few feature areas. I'd like more flexibility especially for documentation templates and assessments. It functions but it doesn't always match how I prefer to structure my notes and treatment plans. Customer support is decent but not consistently dependable. When I needed help with something time sensitive, the response sometimes felt slow and the answers weren't always as detailed as I hoped. Billing can be a bit quirky too. Billing runs but it's not as smooth as I expected there were times when claims didn't process the way the system suggested they would and I ended up double checking things manually. That extra oversight is something I wish I didn't have to handle. Overall, TheraNest does the job but between the glitches, navigation friction and those feature gaps, it ends up feeling less efficient than I need for everyday use.

“Simple navigation”
Pros
It's genuinely simple to use and the layout feels well organized so getting around is simple and natural. The task focused links are a standout for me they let you jump straight to what you need without spending time hunting for it. Calendar tools also come in handy and make scheduling faster and the notes area stays clean and organized which helps when you want to jot down and revisit key details.
