“Great Customer support
Pros
The support I received from ZenCharts was exceptionally accommodating, especially considering that they are a smaller company. They showed a strong willingness to work with smaller clients like us. I found their ability to handle high-volume tasks to be very efficient, and their software provided many options for customizing workflows. They also introduced several automation features that not only streamlined my processes but also reduced redundant tasks. One aspect that I found appealing, depending on how you look at it, is their integration of the Wiley Treatment Planners into their treatment planning software.
Cons
From my perspective, there's an overarching assumption that companies would prefer utilizing a treatment plan aligned with their standard format, heavily influenced by the Wiley Treatment Planner. However, in our case, contractual obligations mandated highly individualized treatment plans. Consequently, the Wiley Templates posed a risk of staff resorting to cookie-cutter approaches. Moreover, for those unfamiliar with the Wiley integration, using it can actually be time-consuming. Lastly, the custom forms provided by the system can be or have been quite glitchy, prone to errors that necessitated rebuilding the entire form.

“Lab Integration with ZenCharts
Pros
After I properly configured the system for our treatment center, ZenCharts became easy for me to use. I was able to integrate it smoothly with our lab, which allowed results to automatically transfer to each client's chart.
Cons
I find it pretty challenging to make changes or edits to forms or templates. The whole process feels awkward, especially when I need to update group notes. On top of that, the customer support was terrible! Whenever we raised concerns about the long response times, our account representative would put the blame on us, acting rude and defensive, and took forever to respond.

“A major game changer!
Pros
ZenCharts has been amazing for our company. They provide us with some good automation capabilities that minimize duplication of effort. And for us, its been even better that they have included Wiley Treatment Planners in their software for treatment planning.
Cons
One thing we would like to say is that the high-volume job processes could be tailored in a number of different ways. They had effective automation features that reduced duplication of effort.

“Streamlines my daily tasks
Pros
The software is really easy to use and makes my work flow smoothly, from admitting patients to planning their treatment and keeping daily progress notes.
Cons
ZenCharts does have some limitations when it comes to reporting, but my organization does not depend on that tool very much. The good news is that I have heard improvements have been made.

“A useful EHR, though it can be slow and lacks efficiency
Pros
I find the charting dashboard pretty good. Although there is room for some improvement, it is still helpful to have all the patient information summarized in one place.
Cons
ZenCharts scheduling feature does not work properly, which is frustrating mainly because this is my main role. There are way too many clicks needed to find basic information which makes it very time-consuming. Everything feels buried within another section of the patients chart and it is something that slows me down. I also dislike that opening anything creates multiple new tabs instead of keeping everything in one. The system feels repetitive, requiring me to input the same details repeatedly. While I prefer is having a functioning EHR and I do not think ZenCharts can keep up with my needs. I also believe customer service could be better. Whenever something does not suit our office, its somehow our fault, not the software itself. If an issue arises, it seems like we are to blame and it gets passed to the development team to resolve. During the demo, they kept mentioning customizable, but it does not feel that way. The system logs me out quickly and when I try to return to my work, I am redirected to the dashboard, forcing me to start over. Plus the patient and guardian portals often seem ineffective. The worst part of ZenCharts by far is DoseSpot.

“Fully flexible
Pros
After receiving training, I like that I can make many of the edits I need to forms without having to constantly request help or submit tickets for minor changes. I also like being able to schedule email notifications for various tasks. The system is fully customizable which allows for unlimited users and clients/patients. And it is something I find very suitable. Plus I love the fact that we can fax directly from the system. The Systems Manager is patient and thorough, always helping me understand things when I'm confused.
Cons
I often face bugs or issues that require me to email tech support. Adding to this let me tell you fixes are slow or sometimes do not happen at all. When I reach out to our Accounts Manager, it feels like I am bothering her as most of the times her responses are rushed and incomplete. At times just a few words or one-liners which leaves me as confused as before.

“Three E's for EMR: Efficient, Easy to Use and Accurate
Pros
About ZenCharts the things I really like are that it allows me to see overdue, missed, held and self-administered medications all on one screen whenever needed.
Cons
There are a lot of forms and getting everyone in the workplace to use the same ones can be difficult. But its definitely better to have too many options than not enough.

“Ahhh! very difficult to understand
Pros
I feel that Zen Charts has all the important features I need, just like other systems. But what I really like is that it has a nicer and more attractive design, which makes it easier and more pleasant to use.
Cons
Personally, I find it quite challenging to locate most of the forms within the system, and navigating how to sign documents is equally perplexing. Unlike other Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), the interface lacks intuitiveness.
