“Feature-packed open-source solution

Pros

We at New Indictrans Technologies Pvt Ltd (Indictrans) have been using this tool for the last seven years and I can say it's both feasible and packed with features. From Sales and Purchase to Operations, Projects, Accounting, HR and Attendance, plus SMS alerts and email notifications, it covers almost everything. Practically all the functions we need are present in this open-source solution.

“Modular and extensible suite

Pros

What I like most about this tool is its design, the suite's modularity has let the developers deliver one of the most comprehensive offerings for small and medium businesses but beyond being comprehensive it is also extensible and with that mix I can build my own micro-vertical solutions either for my company or to offer them as a SaaS now.

Cons

The suite is still evolving quickly and I've noticed some API calls become obsolete between releases although the documentation appears organized, I feel it still needs deeper and more comprehensive coverage.

“Easy self-hosted setup

Pros

Running an open-source IT system, I could install it on my own servers quite easily now.

Cons

Bugs still appear occasionally and I realize patience is sometimes necessary while using the software.

Even as a total beginner, I'm able to pick it up, the interface is clean, readable and responsive. The search works incredibly well and the modular apps, like Accounting and CRM, really expand functionality.

Cons

Several areas feel rough around the edges and I find inconsistent behavior in some core modules, editors don't always render HTML correctly, email setup feels overly complex and limited customization in the website module makes it harder for me to achieve the results I want.

The interface is clean, highly customizable and it gets regular updates, I also feel the pricing is fair and feasible.

Learning the framework's advanced functions takes time and I find getting up to speed slower than expected.

It offers good value. It's easy for me to configure and use. The deployment options are flexible, it provides a great framework for customization and it's one of the few cloud-based IT systems that lets me back up my database locally. Customer support has been helpful.

Accounting features aren't fully localized worldwide which I notice can be limiting in certain regions.

Setup was instant and I appreciated the price being a major plus.
