Pros
I'm glad this project is open-source because it helps keep our overhead costs down. Plus, we can extend the existing codebase which lets us implement various customizations so the software aligns with the specific needs we have.
Cons

Honestly I've found this tool to be basic, feasible and transparent while still feeling secure. According to the Frontrunner 2021 user review, it's currently ranked at the world's third spot, up from fifth place in 2020. The package is essentially plug-and-play for Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Services, Education, Healthcare, Hospitality, Agriculture and Non-profit Associations.
Cons
The interface design doesn't appeal to me and I find it difficult to customize the UI without developer support.

it offers a comprehensive feature set that supports small businesses as they grow and I see plenty of room to add new capabilities over time.
Cons
Getting everything configured on my own cloud involved a pretty steep learning curve. They do offer hosted cloud services for an extra fee if you prefer not to manage it yourself but we opted to run it on our own infrastructure. For complex configurations, I've found it's usually more effective to have a third-party handle the setup and management.

What stands out to me is the wide array of genuinely useful features and I actually like having many options available because even a few of them can be extremely helpful, with analysis reports giving me the insights I need.
Cons
Sometimes they seem to make things more complicated than necessary, layering on extra steps and processes that slow me down. I feel the workflow could be aligned because the added complexity often feels redundant and frustrating.

Cons

Pros
Having been part of the community for a long time, I genuinely feel this is one of the best open-source IT solutions available and I value the clean interface, customization flexibility, strong community, reliable APIs, mobile support and improving documentation.
Cons
While the IT world often struggles with user experience, I don't see that as an impossible issue here but it is noticeable. The tool's documentation isn't organized around specific tasks or real-world use cases and can read quite technical at times which has frustrated me. Out of the box the platform can feel limited and during my testing some advertised features either weren't present or didn't work as claimed. On top of that, I'm worried about the limited number of service providers available.

What draws me in is that it's open source and free to use and I like that I can customize it to my needs while relying on mobile apps and plenty of free tutorial resources which I've found very helpful.
Cons
Android app has some bugs and when self-hosted signups can be problematic, built-in integrations are limited and I'd love a marketplace-style integration hub.

In my experience ERPNext is among the strongest open-source options and while I appreciate the free self-hosted version, I did find the setup challenging and the paid plans somewhat expensive for very small businesses.
Cons
the sheer number of features is actually a downside. They end up feeling overwhelming and sometimes confusing to me. The menu layout doesn't help either, because options aren't organized clearly. I would love to see a guided setup wizard that introduces features step-by-step and hides unrelated options until they're needed.

From what I've seen the interface is user-friendly and I appreciate that it's open source, easy to customize without coding, simple to set up and backed by active development and support.
Cons
The platform doesn't feel like a great fit for very large enterprises and I wouldn't recommend it for big corporate environments, organizations that avoid non-free software may also find it unsuitable and I've noticed trust is still developing since it's relatively new.

Overall I feel it's a very comprehensive system, covering everything from core accounting and inventory to specialized modules for schools, service companies, sales teams and many other sectors.
Cons
For me the biggest downside is that it doesn't take into account the Mexican fiscal miscellany. It lacks any connection to the SAT for downloading XML files and it doesn't even offer a feature to import XMLs. Likewise, it can't stamp CFDIs or handle electronic invoicing requirements. I've read on the forums that this functionality can be added through bespoke developments built for that purpose. Nevertheless, commissioning that kind of custom development ends up being prohibitively expensive for a small company like mine.

We've found it incredibly adaptable to match our business requirements. The API hooks allow smooth connections with other applications. It's among the simplest tools we've used. Reporting is very flexible and we whip up bespoke reports instantly. It operates on trusted cloud hosts and can be launched with a modest infrastructure budget.
Cons
Getting it installed can be tricky for newcomers. That wasn't an issue for us since, as a software development firm, we relied on ample guidance from the community.
