perfect for complex planning & needs integration

Pros

I can tag supply to particular demand lots in the system and that capability makes detailed planning and execution a lot easier when I'm working with a complicated bill of materials. The import and export tools are simple to use and have been a big help both when we first set things up and for ongoing maintenance. My team and I use this software all day long, every workday. When I need technical help or want to suggest improvements, support tickets are effective.

Cons

Having to manually input purchase orders and work orders into both systems creates extra effort because there isn't a direct accounting integration. I end up re-entering the same data to keep both systems aligned and that duplication eats up a lot of time. Also, I need to periodically refresh the inventory data every few months to remove completed sales orders.

Clean system but not flexible

Pros

After switching from another MRP system, I noticed this one felt much cleaner and had far fewer bugs to deal with. its not hard to use because the tutorials are clear, focused and actually useful during the migration process. We set up two main workshops, three contract manufacturing locations, plus our warehouses, and the plans support that structure perfectly. Being able to add unlimited locations and move stock between them without issue has been a huge plus. The search suggestions when linking products save me a ton of time, our catalog keeps growing and I definitely can't remember every SKU. The support team has been responsive and helpful, always giving quick, detailed answers when we need assistance. The free demo was the turning point for us , I realized in just half a day that this would be more economical for our day-to-day needs. Inventory and cost tracking are solid and reliable. I can sign in and instantly see inventory values by SKU, by location or by lot which is exactly how we need to monitor things.

Cons

Honestly, I find the software a bit rigid at times, especially given the price. You'd expect more flexibility, but we frequently have to work around certain limitations for more complex scenarios. One big frustration is that you can't add stock back into an existing lot , you have to create a brand new lot each time. Support explained that this design helps with traceability of inventory movements and I can see the logic but it makes managing returned materials from production or from contract manufacturers unnecessarily awkward. Another pain point is adding stock to manufacturing orders from the production planning pages. KatanaMRP handled this more gracefully. For example, if I need 10 parts to build something at site A but I'm short there while the parts are sitting in warehouse B, I can't just create a transfer and have the manufacturing order update automatically. Instead I end up changing or deleting the whole MO and recreating it. Support knew what to do and gave useful workarounds but it remains an annoying extra step. Just so you know, I received an incentive to write this honest review. There may be better tools out there but at the current $99 enterprise plan this one works for us. I'd recommend taking the free demo for a test run if you're shopping for an MRP solution.

The best value for small makers

Pros

In my consulting practice, I work with manufacturers of every size on choosing and rolling out ERP systems. From what I've seen, this product repeatedly represents the best value for smaller manufacturers. Over time the platform has evolved into a full-featured suite that ties together purchasing, inventory control, production, sales and accounting in a smooth way. What I notice most: - an extremely approachable, easy-to-learn interface that makes it simple - it uses actual costing rather than standard costing, which gives me more precise cost information - lot-level material traceability is included out of the box without extra configuration - the shop-floor screen for logging labor is tidy and simple to use - turning material requirements into either purchase orders or production orders takes almost no effort - support through the integrated ticket system responds quickly and is genuinely helpful

Cons

It would save me a lot of time if it automatically created manufacturing orders for subassemblies that exist deeper in the bill of materials, but right now it doesn't do that.

Very convenient for new users

Pros

I find it easy to comprehend. Although there are many components, they all integrate well, and the layout makes it accessible for new users.

Cons

It doesn't manage 'catch weights' in labeling, and I think the layout for multiple Ship To addresses could use significant improvement.

Best value for your money for small manufacturers.

Pros

In my consulting practice, which assists manufacturers in selecting and implementing ERP systems, MRPeasy consistently delivers great value for small manufacturers. The system has evolved into a comprehensive solution covering purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, sales, and accounting. Notable features include its user-friendliness, actual costing instead of standard costing, built-in material lot traceability, a clean interface for labor reporting and the ability to easily convert material requirements into purchase or manufacturing orders. The customer support through the in-system ticketing is good.

Cons

I wish it could automatically create MOs for subassemblies at lower BOM levels in a recursive manner.

Offers great help in my work

Pros

I also appreciate that I can quickly enter purchase and sales orders while maintaining an overview of my inventory.

Cons

The setup time has some flaws. For instance, sending MRP links to customers who shouldn't be involved in MRP always requires removing those links. This is a little problem I have faced using this software.

Plans inventory in great detail

Pros

I rely on the system to peg every inventory item which gives me the visibility needed for thorough forward and backward production planning.

Cons

One improvement I'd want is for the software to automatically schedule production orders so I don't have to manually drill down through our multi-level bill of materials.

Outstanding & well-organized functionality

Pros

Functionality is excellent and I love how neatly everything is laid out on the screen , the initial setup felt extremely simple. What really stood out to me was the in-app help and online documentation, honestly it's the best I've run into in any piece of software. The guides are thorough and actually written clearly which you don't see often. Importing and exporting data is simple and the included integrations like Xero, operate easyly right out of the box. I think this product can serve very well whether you're running a small business or managing a much larger company.

Cons

To be frank, I don't see many glaring negatives. The program covers all the core functionality you'd expect but when it comes to tailoring things to a very specific workflow the customization options can feel restrictive. I'm encouraged that the support team actually pays attention to feature requests and development feedback. One important detail to be aware of is that everyone is on the same software version, so I can't modify my instance or remain on an older release while updates are applied. That said, there is an upside: everyone receives new features immediately. While many groups are capable of rolling this out by themselves, I would advise being very deliberate about your initial setup choices. If you don't get the configuration right from the beginning, I personally found that you can miss out on getting the most value from the platform.

easy to learn but complex to use

Pros

After using this program for about five months, I found it simple to pick up the basic functions. The platform is fairly sophisticated, though, so I am still getting comfortable and uncovering new ways it can be used across different tasks.

Cons

Occasionally I have to invest extra time learning a particular module or workflow, I'm not yet fully comfortable with every feature. For instance, I haven't figured out all the options like adjusting production dates and similar settings which still take me time.

Grows perfectly with our business

Pros

We only make use of a tiny portion of what it offers. I am happy that it fits the very simple workflow we currently follow and we can enable or start leveraging additional capabilities over time as our needs expand.

Cons

Write-offs are awkward , through the standard web interface I'm limited to writing off one item type at a time. We have several parts that get scrapped during production, so when I need to write them off it would be far more convenient to submit them all as a list instead of entering each one individually. While there's an option to upload a CSV to accomplish this, I find that approach less interactive and not as user-friendly.

clean and friendly system

Pros

We rely on MRPeasy to manage our vendors, parts inventory and to generate quotes for customer orders. The user interface is simple, tidy, reasonably interactive and simple to search. We found assembling bills of materials, defining routings and creating job invoices to be fast and without issue. We also value that as we expand our manufacturing operation, additional features can be added, making it an easy-to-start software that scales with us.

Cons

Nothing significant bothers me aside from the odd discomfort of investing so many hours inputting data into a service tied to a monthly subscription. Still, that seems to be the norm nowadays. A small improvement I'd really like to see is the option to highlight several line items within an order and edit them all together as a single batch for convenience each time we process orders.

Everything connects fantastically well

Pros

What I love is how easyly everything hooks up, stock adjustments and purchase orders instantly reflect across sales, fulfillment and finance. The built-in connectors have transformed how we run the webstore. I feel the pricing is fair for what you receive, offering a compromise between expense and capabilities. After some use the layout starts to feel natural.

Cons

Getting started felt daunting because setup is self-serve but once we picked someone to lead the change the process became much easier. Fortunately support replies promptly and there is a thorough user guide that made implementation manageable.

Always finding more helpful features

Pros

Every time I sign in I discover more ways to organize and monitor business details. The depth of information for inventory control and manufacturing processes really impresses me , it covers everything from BOMs and client orders to shipping, purchase orders and the accounting side. All the tools I rely on to oversee operations are included and I continually stumble upon additional features that make tracking even more thorough.

Cons

Getting up to speed was tougher than I expected because the system is packed with details , it took me a long time to figure out which functions I actually needed and which I could ignore. With such a wide array of options, I had to put in significant time to map out how everything ties together so I can set it up to run my business the way that suits me best.

A remarkably smooth transition

Pros

Starting with the free trial and moving through implementation to everyday use, the entire transition has been remarkably smooth for us. Having had no previous experience with MRP systems, we found it simple to teach ourselves the software by watching the many demo data videos available on YouTube which break each workflow into manageable steps. Where we used to rely on spreadsheets and email orders, the automated system, once it's been set up properly, now only requires entering customer orders and letting MRPeasy generate all the POs and MOs with a single click. It's a genuinely useful piece of software that delivers a huge amount of data and has boosted efficiency across every part of our business.

Cons

Certain wording can vary from the labels we're accustomed to which can occasionally cause confusion but after we familiarize ourselves with the terminology it becomes a fairly minor annoyance to deal with.

Great on paper but slow in practice

Pros

I like the system and think it's powerful in concept but it's only going to behave the way I want if I'm willing to painstakingly enter every detail correctly beforehand.

Cons

Setting everything up takes a really long time and I end up needing to spend even more money on additional tools before it feels fully usable.
