“Fully paperless with custom reports

This tool has allowed me to go completely paperless. I can build custom queries for nearly any report I need when there isn't a premade option. As a result, I no longer have to waste 10+ hours each week hunting down physical travelers.

Honestly, there isn't much I dislike, the few features I'm not fond of are already planned for future updates.

One of my favorite parts of the software is definitely the QMS module and I also really appreciate how the parts and work order modules are designed to display interactive 3D models while letting me upload photos directly to items and orders.

My favorite aspect of this tool is the team. Everyone I've interacted with knows the product inside out and genuinely wants to support our industry. I can see this system delivering real value to our business by steering us toward stronger processes and procedures which in turn lowers the risk we pose to our customer.

Although the training is excellent, I find it takes significant time and practice for me to become fully proficient with the system.

More than once I've paused, thought 'It would be great if this tool did such-and-such...' and then I dig through the menus and discover that the exact feature I had in mind was already built into the system. That constant sense of finding what I need without extra plugins or workarounds is honestly impressive.

With so many features, I worry about overlooking something valuable, and I feel I need to carefully align and optimize my workflows to avoid missing useful simplifications.

With this software I can oversee virtually every part of my business from a single platform. It's easy to show staff how it works and get them trained quickly. Since we put it in place, our company has expanded markedly. It's enabled us to accept more jobs, tackle harder projects and still keep our overhead at the same level. The layout is tidy and well-structured and it generates considerable efficiencies, especially in our non-manufacturing functions.

Some menus are deep with multiple paths to the same place, but I manage to navigate them and I appreciate the flexibility even if others don't.

The support team is exceptional, no issue is too small or large for them to address and I can manage the business remotely from anywhere in the world. A significant advantage is that everything I need is included, I do not have to keep purchasing additional modules for routine tasks.

It takes some time to learn the system, so I believe it is important to be prepared for about six months of challenges, unless you have an experienced user to help you, which can make a significant difference. Other than that, I do not really have any dislikes because my previous concerns have turned into positives now that I have a better understanding of how things work, which helps in everything I do.

Also, the ProShop dashboards throughout our facility help align our employees' efforts. Notably, our on-time delivery rate improved by 17% in the first three months of using ProShop.

The most challenging part of integrating this software with our existing business was figuring out how to make it work for us. However, once we realized that it was better for us to adjust to ProShop rather than expecting ProShop to change for us, implementing the software became much smoother.

This capability is invaluable when investigating any issues, as the data is accessible with just a few clicks. Once set up, it is easy to maintain, and having all data in the cloud allows for convenient access from various devices. The support team is outstanding; they provide quick answers to questions, and their expertise is evident. I have consistently found them knowledgeable and responsive, and they truly believe in their product, offering excellent support for any issues that arise.

The training provided to get started was just enough for me to begin using the system. Most of this training focused on the higher-level users since they would be the ones handling purchase orders, work orders, scheduling, and so on. The training sessions we had were spread out over several online meetings, which prepared us for the basics. However, after we started using the software, I frequently reached out to my representative for help during the first few months (Thanks for all your help!). The training given to the shop floor staff was only one day, which left them with more questions than answers. Once I became more comfortable with the system, which took only a few months, I was able to create specific training for our floor personnel so they could understand the details of ProShop and how their contributions affected the system. Now, in our third year, we have shop floor leaders who train new staff and can explain how and why everything functions as it does.

Managing tool inventory from a shop-owned vending supply versus ordering tools for specific jobs is tricky. We have not yet found the best way to track tools we have already purchased in a vending system and connect that cost to jobs on the spot.

The best part of ProShop ERP is that it was created by machinists for machinists. The workflow is continuous, with each stage interconnected through hyperlinks, from estimating to quoting, customer purchase orders, part creation, work orders, purchase orders for materials, and invoicing. Machinists and programmers receive everything they need, such as unlimited setup data, including spaces for photos and videos, tool lists, fixture numbers, and GCODE in part folders. It also includes sequence details, operation descriptions, part development for feedback, and in-process inspection lists. The scheduling can be easily adjusted in real-time with drag-and-drop features. Despite its extensive capabilities, we can choose to use only the features we need at any time, such as creating a simple work order for a quick job without excessive data entry. The cloud-based database at the core of ProShop is powerful, we have not experienced any outages or data loss. ProShop ERP offers much more than I anticipated, including HR features for tracking skills and training. Users can create training requirements and monitor completion, while securely storing GCODE, CAD/CAM data, and other documents.

Cons

GUI is not very attractive. The graphics are not used much, resulting in a text-heavy interface. The reports are not intuitive for me, but my colleague has become skilled at using the Query System for custom reports. The learning curve for our business was very steep because we implemented ISO 9001, paperless/cloud computing, time tracking, and ProShop ERP all at once. The adjustment to working together as a team to collect data for costing and scheduling was a bit uncomfortable. Also, it is quite expensive, representing a significant long-term commitment.

Moving from a different ERP system is always difficult, which means that the implementation process takes a lot of time. However, I want to highlight that ProShop's implementation team is really good, and overall, the process has been quite smooth for us.

We switched from using a lot of customized spreadsheets and whiteboards to ProShop. I have worked professionally with ERP packages, including SAP and Oracle, as well as mid-range ERPs, and I can honestly say that ProShop is the best I have ever used. We thoroughly reviewed all available options, and nothing matched ProShop's features and ease of use during demonstrations. It is straightforward, and our team adapted to it quickly. I cannot imagine running our business without it. We implemented ProShop and achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification for the first time in just six months, which would not have been possible without this software. From estimating new parts to invoicing, ProShop performs exceptionally well in all areas, and everything is easy to find because the data is linked. We use tailored estimating templates to create accurate estimates faster than before, and moving from an estimate to a quote takes only a few clicks. When a customer purchase order comes in, creating a work order is just a couple more clicks, and the same goes for making packing lists and invoices from the work order.

Cons

I cannot think of any downsides at all. I would make the same choice to implement ProShop again without any hesitation, as it has completely changed our business by allowing us to do three times the amount of work with the same number of staff.

It provides great features for order processing, inventory management, scheduling, quality management, production control, and fulfillment, all in a paperless setup. The support is excellent, the training is detailed, and the support team is always ready to listen and usually helps find a solution when problems come up.

Although ProShop is not hard to use, it still requires a lot of time and training, just like any other ERP system.

Implementing ProShop can be difficult. It is not as easy to use as I expected. Since we bought it 18 months ago, the support has gotten much worse. Simple tasks often take way too long to finish. Also, I find the help menu to be nearly useless, and the software has many glitches that I have had to learn to deal with.

Because of that hands-on background, the developers really understand the day-to-day challenges we face and the kinds of software fixes that actually work. If my shop were a small to mid-sized job shop operating under strict regulations, I honestly doubt I'd find a better fit anywhere.

There aren't many built-in guardrails, so I have to stay vigilant, and I notice that improperly formatted entries can affect how I use the system.

What I really appreciate is that it's cloud-based, so I can jump into my work from anywhere and actually get things done without being stuck at the shop computer. The Support team has also been excellent at handling any questions or issues that come up which makes things much less stressful. The interface is simple to click through and navigate and there are hyperlinks sprinkled throughout that take me straight to various part details, customer records, or work order information.

Uploading a single image at a time is frustrating, and I find editing uploaded file names requires repeated steps that slow me down.

I'm really impressed with this software and use it every day. Because it's designed as a paperless system, it has made our record keeping far less of a headache and much more organized than before. The interface is very user-friendly and navigation through different screens is smooth. Since it's Internet-based, I can upload photos and videos and attach them to a specific job or operation which helps with documentation. Job costing updates live throughout the process so I always see current numbers. Monitoring machine efficiency, utilization and indirect time is simple and clear. I also find it easy to create custom search queries and pull highly specific reports that fit unique aspects of our business. It honestly goes on and on with useful features.

The scheduling tool was awkward at first, and I struggled until I found that the new drag-and-drop scheduler helps me reorganize jobs much faster and more efficiently.

Because of that I can monitor my products' manufacturing and production processes in a much simpler and more practical way which has been incredibly helpful for keeping our business organized. I also appreciate that it supports integrations with other programs, since that makes it simple for me to expand and customize its features. For example, I can access administrative and accounting data right from the same interface instead of opening several different tools which saves me time and reduces mistakes. On top of all that, their customer support has been excellent, whenever something crops up they respond quickly and effectively and their help has prevented a lot of potential headaches for the whole team. All in all, the UI simplicity, process visibility, integration capabilities and responsive support have made the app a practical part of our daily operations.

The way it has handled problems with simplicity and practicality has impressed me and overall it hasn't given me any reasons to criticize its use, it's been dependable and effective for our needs.

The developers behind this program clearly understood precisely what someone seeking an ERP/CRM solution needs in our industry. Pretty much every aspect was easy to learn and simple to follow. The online help section lets users search for answers (and more often than not find them) before calling support. Work order and Customer PO areas are packed with detail, letting me enter every piece of information and access it easily. Buying COTS parts through the Vendor PO section is effortless, usually taking only a few seconds. That balance of being simple while still offering rich detail is honestly what makes it our team's top tool. I really appreciate that this application can hold such a large amount of data inside its modules which makes it simple for everyone on the team to track an order and understand precisely what's happening and when exactly.

Cons

Because the system includes a large number of modules and features, it did take us a couple of implementation and training sessions to learn everything but the implementation staff and trainers made the whole experience really easy for our team.

“Unified system replaced scattered tools

I'm finding it's exactly what was advertised. Before adopting this, we were juggling a collection of disconnected systems for project management, inventory, purchase orders and our QMS and as you'd expect, tasks slipped through the cracks and recordkeeping wasn't at the standard we required. Bringing everything together in one platform with live data has really transformed our shop's overall performance. People on the shop floor quickly became familiar with the different modules and required very little training to start using them effectively. Because the whole solution runs in a browser, it's easy to use and it instantly distributes information across the shop.

Cons

We haven't found any real drawbacks with the software. Our biggest limitation so far is simply that there are so many strong features available that we haven't explored them all yet. I'm personally looking forward to integrating the tooling module and using the part set-up capabilities as the next steps in our rollout, that should open up even more value for us.

From my experience, this is one of the top ERP solutions available today because it's web-based and gives me full control over all manufacturing activities that take place. Because the service is hosted in the cloud, my team can access it from anywhere which makes monitoring processes much easier. I also appreciate that it includes a reporting and analytics module which delivers highly useful insights and it manages purchase orders, quotes, security administration and shipping controls, among other functions. Compared with other ERP packages I've used, it becomes very easy once people learn the system, its interface feels relatively fast and stable and I get high performance while working with it.

Cons

The cost can be a real hurdle for many potential users, and I find it much pricier than alternative ERP options, making it less appealing for smaller businesses. I also notice the interface carries a modest learning curve, so more comprehensive documentation or tutorials would help new team members get up to speed faster.

it delivers real-time, easily reachable information, the data truly feels like it's at my fingertips. I can check a job's status within seconds and confidently update customers on progress. With a simple query I'm able to pull up past jobs to see production times, out-of-pocket costs, setup details and other helpful notes. Beyond that, it gives me a clear view of shop capacity and the schedule which is essential for meeting growing customer expectations and deciding if we can take on and prioritize expedited orders. It's made planning and communication noticeably smoother for me.

There aren't any negatives that stand out to me, and I don't really have any downsides to report.
