Inaccurate reports

Pros

They offered a wider selection of reports but the problem was that the information in them ended up being inaccurate.

Cons

The client information is poorly organized and the transfer from our previous CRM was basically useless. It brought over incorrect numbers that were way off and even created problems in our QuickBooks account.

Comprehensive solution

Pros

Cons

Scheduling and dispatching made simple

Pros

Scheduling and dispatching are simple, it cuts down on paperwork quite a bit and sending invoices is quick and convenient.

Cons

At times the cost feels pretty high for what it offers.

Helpful automation features

Pros

Using this platform feels like a practical labor solution for handling professional processes without needing to assign someone to do every task manually. It works as a digital support tool that helps complete tasks efficiently and can even assist with negotiations when needed, thanks to its intelligent automation features.

Cons

I really have not run into any issues with the software. The functions are simple to put in place and simple to understand especially for companies that are still getting familiar with this kind of system.

Helped us become more profitable

Pros

Before our technicians even pull into a customer's driveway, they can already see exactly where they're headed and review all the job details they need. Dispatch can also pass along important information ahead of time which helps the techs show up better prepared. On top of that, the invoicing process and building out a price book have helped us become more profitable. We've also noticed customers are paying much faster now that invoices go out immediately as soon as the job is finished.

Cons

Honestly there isn't much to complain about. The one thing I'd like to see improved is a better integration for service agreements. Most agreements in this industry run annually and include discounted services throughout the service term. It would be really helpful if that process could be fully integrated and automated.

Cooperative team and useful reports

Pros

Scheduling has been really helpful and the customer support team has been solid whenever I've needed them. The Price Book is another big plus since I can set my own prices and descriptions and they automatically pop up each time a service needs to be added to an estimate. The reports are also very useful and give me a clear view of the business.

Cons

The hardest part has been customer follow-up. There isn't a dedicated section for follow-up notes which makes that process more difficult than it should be. Another concern is that contractors can see private notes when notes have to be left on an order for someone else to follow up.

Superb QuickBooks integration

Pros

Handling billing and invoicing is pretty simple and the service automation helps take a lot of manual work off my plate. Since it's all online, there's much less need to deal with complicated paperwork. The QuickBooks integration is also really useful and collecting payments is more convenient thanks to the timely reminders.

Cons

The trial only lasts 14 days which feels a bit short. The Pro version is also somewhat expensive. On top of that, the dashboard shows a lot of information at once so it can be a little overwhelming and harder to navigate at first.

Affordable tool

Pros

The pricing has been a big plus and the software is very simple to use day to day. Moving over from our previous program was pretty painless and I also appreciate that it can automatically ask customers to leave online reviews.

Cons

One thing that would really help is being able to search for customers by address or phone number, not only by name. It would also be better if private notes from a previous job carried over automatically to the next job.

Smooth setup

Pros

It has kept our team organized and on schedule and it also makes customer communication and appointment scheduling really convenient. I'd definitely recommend it.

Cons

Having an option to automatically apply a percentage for credit card processing fees would make it better.

Terrible support and unresolved issues

Pros

It's decent at best but definitely far from impressive. A lot of effort seems to go into adding or updating features that don't really matter much, while important functions with serious problems still aren't fixed. Things like automatic late fees and being able to correct a customer's name on an invoice when the wrong one is entered are still major issues.

Cons

Customer service is by far the worst part. If you want to work with a company that treats you like a real person, this is not the one. After our bank told us to close our account because it had been hacked and open a new one for security reasons, I realized there was no direct number for Housecall Pro so I couldn't simply call and get help. I wasn't able to update the account properly and that ended up costing us customers because they couldn't pay by credit card while we were stuck trying to connect the new bank account. When someone from their team finally called, she was unbelievably rude. I explained that we had lost customers because we couldn't bill them due to problems with their system and her response was, "well that's your perception." That wasn't a perception, it was exactly what happened. Her attitude was arrogant, dismissive and honestly disgusting. That whole interaction made me regret giving this company my money and support especially when they clearly do not train their staff to handle customer service professionally.

Feels self-explanatory

Pros

Right from the start it felt very self-explanatory, simple, user-friendly and easy to use. That has made training other team members much easier than expected. We also really appreciate being able to manage scheduling, work orders, billing and collections all within the app.

Cons

The invoice design could use more customization options.

They value feedback

Pros

They keep improving the platform and it really feels like they pay attention to customer feedback. Overall it's a solid product for the price.

Cons

The server can be slow now and then and a few parts of the app don't perform very well. The postcard marketing feature is one example.

Reasonable pricing

Pros

One thing that really worked well for me with this software was the pricing, along with customer service that was simple to deal with. The automated emails also do a nice job of keeping follow-up consistent.

Cons

When the system goes down, everything becomes unstable until it is up and running again.

Saved us so many hours

Pros

After trying several other systems and never really being happy with any of them, Housecall Pro has been a fantastic addition to our business. It has saved us countless hours, helped improve our profitability and the support team has been excellent.

Cons

There are a few small hiccups here and there but they're manageable workarounds until the software team rolls out fixes and improvements.

Pros

Dispatching jobs is simple and the tracking tools plus payment tracking have been really useful.

Keeps customers informed

Pros

I've really appreciated the real-time customer notification function. It does a nice job of keeping customers informed right away.
