suited for smaller businesses

Pros

Everything feels simple and efficient to use. My schedule is readily accessible and the mobile app fits my business well so I don't have to invest in costly software that's usually designed for much larger companies.

Cons

The mobile app can jump around a bit when switching between customers and different days but the advantages still far outweigh those small issues.

Keeps me professional and well-organized

Pros

Running my company feels much more organized with this and a lot of customers have been genuinely impressed by it. It comes across as a very professional solution and it also does a solid job of helping me manage customer details, history, tags and information about the products and services my company offers.

Cons

One thing I've wanted for a long time is a simple way to print invoices in batches instead of clicking through multiple screens just to print them one by one. Also, quite a few features are locked behind higher monthly pricing so you have to pay extra to access them.

Helps me stay productive

Pros

Running the business on my own, this product helps me stay productive, handle more tasks and keep things moving as I grow.

Cons

One thing that would make it even better is a color-coded calendar. It would also help if, when sending an "on my way" text, I could let customers know how far out I am and give them an estimated arrival time.

simple input screen

Pros

One thing I really appreciate is the fast, simple input screen. When I'm on the phone scheduling with a client, it helps a lot to keep the number of questions to a minimum.

Cons

At this point, I haven't run into anything I dislike or feel needs improvement. The platform fits into my workflow really well.

Great for handling appointments

Pros

Handling appointments and everything else has been really impressive. The features are excellent and the software is simple enough that just about anyone can use it without much trouble.

Cons

The biggest downside for me was the pricing. Since I'm running things on my own, it just wasn't practical to keep paying for and continue using the software.

complete scheduling platform

Pros

It feels like a true all-in-one scheduling platform. The QuickBooks and calendar integrations are a huge plus and the communication tools work really well for both the team and customers.

Cons

I do wish there were a more convenient way to print calendar views and reports.

Remote clock-ins are convenient

Pros

Being able to clock in remotely has been really convenient and the customer communication tools work well. I also appreciate having multiple ways to accept payments.

support team is amazing

Pros

Right from the start using it has been very simple and the support team has been absolutely amazing. It's really reassuring to be out in the field and still be able to handle everything through the app. My husband can also view everything and he's able to send invoices by text or email without any hassle.

Cons

At this point, I really don't have any complaints. As we dig deeper into everything, I'm sure something could come up but so far support has had a solution for every issue I've run into.

Made operations simpler

Pros

Switching from paper to managing everything in this app has been a big improvement. I'm still figuring out a few parts since I'm new to it but it has already made running my business much simpler. It's also cut down the time I used to waste rewriting the same invoice or proposal over and over.

Cons

Converting proposals into invoices and handling scheduling has taken some getting used to but I'm pretty sure that's more on me since I'm still learning how the system works.

Pros

There's a lot I can do with it that helps me stay on top of my business while also keeping connected with my customers. My customers really appreciate the attention and communication Housecall Pro provides them.

Cons

There are a few glitches and occasional workarounds but whenever I bring them up, the team starts working on a solution right away.

Fantastic customer communication tools

Pros

The customer communication features were excellent and being able to accept payments while out in the field was a huge plus. The platform was also very simple to navigate.

Cons

One downside is that it doesn't let you transfer data over from other software.

professional look for small teams

Pros

Running a small business gets a lot more manageable with this product especially when the service itself is already strong but the organization needs help. Our customers really appreciate features such as instant invoicing and text notifications. It makes a small company come across as much more professional without the cost of building a custom app from scratch.

Cons

A big share of my services is sold through the online booking portal and I'm sure that number would be even higher if the consumer side were more user friendly. Older customers sometimes have trouble understanding how to navigate it. It would also help to add a minimum service charge requirement before a booking can be submitted. I'd rate that part of the system 3/5.

Online booking is a lifesaver

Pros

Keeping appointments organized got much better once we started using the online booking feature. Coordinating schedules had been one of our biggest ongoing headaches and this really helped take that pressure off.

Cons

We haven't started using the quoting feature yet and are still handling quotes the old-fashioned way through email. Once we're ready to switch over to quote automation, it's something we'll definitely consider using.

Daily project tracking with Housecall pro

Pros

Running jobs that can last anywhere from a week to two months, I need something that keeps up every single day and this software does that really well. It helps me stay on top of each project on a daily basis which makes it especially useful for service businesses that operate day by day.

Cons

One thing I appreciated was that it also kept a daily record of operations, finances and expense costs, including materials and labor efficiency.

Tidy interface that customers enjoy

Pros

Using Houscall Pro has been simple and the platform feels polished and professional. My customers also seem to really appreciate the interface which has been a big plus.

Cons

Dealing with support has been a real letdown. I've been using the product for more than two years and never once needed to contact customer service. Recently, I tried to use the email and postcard features that are included in the plan I already pay for each month but there was a system glitch. After attempting several times to sort it out on my own, I called and asked to speak with a customer service representative. That's when I was told I would have to upgrade from my current plan to the XL plan just to be able to talk to live support. That upgrade would cost about an extra $100 per month. That was extremely disappointing. I even asked whether there was an option to simply pay for live support only when needed and I was told that isn't currently available. At this point, I honestly don't know how to deal with it. The frustrating part is that the issue I needed help with involved features that would have generated more revenue for Housecall Pro and I still wasn't able to get the support I needed.

EXCELLENT

Pros

HCP is incredibly easy to use with an intuitive layout. In contrast to ProjX360 and D-Tools SI, which required extensive setup and a steep learning curve, HCP was user-friendly from day one. New employees quickly adapt, and the customer service is exceptional, they always resolve issues, often with follow-up research. The contact button on the screen is convenient compared to other software where finding customer service can be a hassle.

Cons

I would like to see more integrations, and there are small things I'd change here and there, but I know that's hard since the software covers so many different industries. A better way to pull reports would be especially good.

Great addition to our small business.

Pros

Automated text messages within the app. 2. Start and finish times available in the app. 3. There's always something new to learn and integrate into your system. I'm excited to explore new apps and features. 4. Customer service chat responses are excellent and helpful. 5. Review toggle. 6. Pro Talks provide valuable time for business success. 7. Every account change is documented. 8. The app's dashboard snapshot of ongoing or completed activities is great.

Cons

The way the notification stays active when a customer sends you a video message. 2. Sometimes, the customer's address doesn't load properly on the maps within the app; it seems to work intermittently. 3. When texting a customer using the HCP-provided number within the app, if you click outside the message box, you can't get back in to move around. Sometimes, if you wait too long, the message disappears. We've resorted to texting ourselves and then copying and pasting. 4. It would be helpful to have a reminder on the dashboard to snail mail invoices when a client doesn't have an email. 5. You can't copy and paste from the text messaging portion within the app, like for following up on a previous text. 6. To search for a phone number or customer on the desktop browser, I have to click within the customer tab. I wish there was a search bar within each tab on the dashboard. 7. I wish there was a way to toggle the reviews within the app with administrator access, not tech access. Sometimes, when turning on and off the reviews on your smartphone, it opens the app automatically when Safari is clicked unless you delete the cookies. 8. A follow-up button with an automated email in a customer's account on the estimate page would be helpful, showing the follow-up date and time and maybe not allowing you after so many attempts.

Housecall Pro changed my life!

Pros

Being able to track time, movement, KPIs, reviews, payments, scheduling, etc., is incredibly powerful!

Cons

There are some features that other industry juggernauts have that this software doesn't, but I am confident they will get there, and I'm happy to have gotten in at basically the ground floor.

Housecall Pro Rocks

Pros

This software unites our entire company. It handles all our scheduling needs and consolidates information in one place. Access from mobile devices is a huge plus! Our company wouldn't be where it is today without Housecall Pro.

Cons

There are a few features missing that could make some delegations a bit easier, but eventually, when enough people request this option, they will add and integrate it into the software.
