“Financing built right into proposals”
Pros
One feature I've really appreciated since upgrading is the integrated financing option. It lets customers apply for financing directly from the proposal we send out which has been a big plus.
Cons
HCP still isn't a good fit for our residential or commercial multi-phase construction jobs especially when we need to manage progress payments and set up payment schedules.

Clients regularly mention how well we stay in touch through OMW especially with follow-up emails and texts. The automation across the platform really helps organize our day-to-day operations.
Cons
Every now and then we run into something that isn't completely simple but the customer chat team has always helped us work through it.

“Well designed app”
Pros
I'm still in the early stages of trying it and I've also used other software so I have something to compare it against. The biggest reason I came back to Housecall Pro is how simple it is to use. The app is probably my favorite part of the software. I really appreciate the detailed yet clean layout especially when it comes to viewing and scheduling calls compared with the other programs I've tried. It also seems like their team is headed in the right direction and continues to make solid improvements to the software.
Cons
After having the opportunity to use other software, I have a much better sense of which features matter most to me. Housecall Pro includes a lot of really good features but it's still missing a few things that would make it an even stronger product. My biggest complaints are that it doesn't have inventory tracking, it doesn't offer a way to show the equipment model and serial number on printed invoices and there isn't a dedicated place to enter the job complaint when scheduling or to document completed work details.

“Hcp has our backs”
Pros
Switching to a new system always comes with a learning curve but HCP has been there through every stage, sales, implementation, training and support. After using the same software for 27 years, this was a major change for our company and our technicians so having that level of guidance made a huge difference. Thankfully, HCP has really supported us all the way.
Cons
Because no software can be built around every specific company workflow, there are some processes we were used to that HCP doesn't handle the same way. We've had to make some adjustments to take full advantage of everything the program offers and HCP support has been helpful in getting us through that. I'm sure we'll come across more roadblocks over time but I'm also confident we'll be able to work through them.

“seamless setup”
Pros
Getting this integrated was smooth. The system feels almost user-friendly and it doesn't take much training to understand how things work and start using it right away.
Cons
One thing that took a bit of extra time was the automatic addition of their default products and pricing based on our industry. Cleaning that up was a little tedious and it would have been better if customization started from scratch. That said I'm not even sure I'd call it a true downside.

Pros
Having everything in one place makes running my business feel almost effortless with HCP. It really simplifies day-to-day work and at this point I can't imagine operating without it.
Cons
There honestly aren't many downsides. If I had to point out one thing, I'd say the transaction fees could be lower although they're still not unreasonable.

Right away, the dispatching feature has been one of my favorite parts because it's simple to use and very clear to read. It also makes entering customer and job details while I'm still on the phone really convenient. The mobile app is another big plus since it's just as simple to navigate as the desktop version.
Cons
Nothing specific comes to mind as a downside right now. They're consistently rolling out new features and updates which keeps the software improving.

The best feature of this program is its simplicity. Learning new functions is quick and easy. Customer support is great and resolves issues efficiently. It's fantastic to have such a comprehensive program with all essentials in one place.
Cons

New employees pick it up quickly! They appreciate how accessible it is for those who are not tech-savvy. Customers also enjoy the ease of bill payments, tracking our arrival, and seeing progress. We've gained consistent reviews after every job!
Cons
I would like to see more options for pulling data and generating sales, total sales, and estimated sales for each month, maybe a comparison graph of where you are now compared to last year or last month. The graphs and data I can pull now are good, but it would be even better to gather more since this is all I use for the business. Another thing would be making it less complicated. For example, if I want to compare sales in the business right now (we detail and pressure wash), I was told I would need to go back and make sure each job had a job tag and then identify it by one other thing that I can't remember. Sometimes job tags are forgotten when entering customer information on the spot, but now I try not to forget them. Overall, having a graph that could pull data without needing to tag this and add that would allow me more time for other business items that I never seem to have enough time for.

“Justifies the cost”
Pros
At first, I was completely against paying for scheduling software because I didn't think the monthly cost would be justified. Now, I honestly can't imagine running my business without it. It's been fantastic. It makes my company look much more professional and it also helps me collect all the customer details I used to overlook. On top of that, it's given me a much clearer understanding of what my business is actually worth. The recurring jobs feature has been a huge help too since it keeps future work from getting missed. My customers really appreciate the "I'm on my way" notification because it keeps them updated. And when the time comes to sell my business, having a complete record of every customer I've ever serviced will make it that much more valuable and appealing.
Cons
The only thing that bothered me at first was the pricing but after I used the software for a bit and removed the features I didn't need, it ended up fitting my budget just fine.

Getting the whole team comfortable with it didn't take long. It connects well with QuickBooks Online and the customer notifications and survey features are really useful to have built in.
Cons
One thing that still needs work is the customer information setup. It doesn't mirror QuickBooks closely enough especially when it comes to sub-customers. That becomes a real issue when working with real estate agents who manage multiple properties and involve several different parties.

Scheduling and sending jobs out to my employees has become so much simpler with this. I used to rely on a basic calendar and wasn't sending reminders before appointments but now the software takes care of that automatically. Since those reminder messages started going out, I've had fewer no call/no shows.
Cons
Like any software, there are a few minor things here and there but since I wasn't using a program before this, I really don't have anything to compare it against.

It's pretty simple to use and I appreciate how well it connects with other software and apps which makes sharing information feel fairly smooth.
Cons
One thing that really needs work is the scheduling layout especially for jobs that require a return visit. I end up spending a lot of time trying to track down customers I know I need to go back to after waiting on parts but I can't always remember who they are. A project tracking screen on the dashboard would help a lot. I'm also using the in-house financing through HP and some ticket amounts are pretty high. I'd really like to see more financing choices or at least more ways to present them so customers have better options. Instead of it coming across like, "holy crap, only $500 a month," it would be much more helpful to show the term lengths and APR clearly. The more details customers can see upfront, the more confident they feel about moving forward.

It has been really helpful having a database where I can schedule my team, keep clients updated and store client files all in one place. The GPS tracking is also a big plus.
Cons
it doesn't include payroll or accounting. It also creates separate invoices for each job, instead of letting me combine multiple cleans into a single invoice.

HCP covered the key features I was looking for and the interface is very simple to use. It also comes loaded with integrations which makes it flexible enough to handle specific business needs. They keep improving the platform and setting a higher standard and I can only see it getting better over time. I'd definitely recommend this product.
Cons
Since it's still a bit early in its development, there are a few things I'd love to see added down the road, like inventory management and automated employee time tracking.
