“Online booking costs too much”
Pros
Scheduling jobs online is pretty simple, you choose the customer, select the service and set the time. It also sends automatic texts to customers when the job is booked, when the crew is on the way and once the work is finished. After completion, an email goes out that can be used to request a review. Another helpful feature is being able to scan credit cards in the field using just the app on your phone. The QuickBooks integration is useful too.
Cons
Pricing is where it fell apart for me. At $49 a month it already would have been a tough sell to my clients but having to jump to $137 per month just to unlock online booking made it too expensive. That price difference was ultimately the deal breaker.

Pros
Support team stands out. They're easy to reach, quick to respond and genuinely friendly. They pay attention to user feedback and keep rolling out updates and new features which makes the software feel like it's always improving.
Cons
The calendar and scheduling side still feels slow, clunky and overcrowded. Scheduling or reassigning jobs takes more time than it should. There are also no email or text reminders for employees. On top of that, the email notifications and invoice templates don't offer much room for customization. It would be much more useful if we could swap out terms like "professional" and "appointment" for wording that better fits our industry.

Getting customers takes a lot less effort because the platform sends us jobs based on the area we've set. We also get leads across the different service categories we specialize in which helps bring in relevant work.
Cons
One thing that could be better is how they sent email previews for job leads. At times, they would send several of those in a single day.

Using this has been very simple for both our employees and the team working out in the field. The system is simple but it still gives our company a solid way to stay connected with customers. From the office side, we've cut down a lot on the number of invoices we used to send by mail. Customers seem to prefer getting emails from us especially when invoices are included. The payment portal is also very user-friendly and we've seen a noticeable jump in online payments because of it.
Cons
One thing that could be improved is the schedule page. The times really need to stand out more or at least the top of each hour should be bolded. It's especially hard to schedule an appointment in the weekly view on Fridays since the time appears all the way over in the far-left margin.

There's a lot to appreciate about Housecall Pro. We rely on nearly every feature it offers, from the on-the-way text messages to the postcard marketing tools. It's also set up to automatically send appointment confirmation emails and follow-up emails which saves us time. One thing that really helps is being able to view all open or unpaid invoices on a single screen. The custom reporting is also useful since you can build reports using the tags you assign. Overall it offers a lot of value and functionality.
Cons
Honestly I don't really have any complaints. They're always updating and improving the platform. Anytime an issue comes up, they make an effort to help and fix things. And if there's something you don't like or don't fully understand, they'll take the time to walk you through it and help out.

HCP's engineers and team clearly invest a ton into the software. We're seeing updates and feature improvements almost every single week and they just keep adding more. The functionality is honestly impressive. It has helped our business grow and our customers really appreciate the technology especially the text message notifications and online bill pay.
Cons
There are still a few features I'd personally like to see added and I've already submitted those requests. To their credit, HCP is very open to feedback and keeps track of what users ask for. I've already seen some of my suggestions turn into actual features so I'm confident that will keep happening.

A lot of the tasks we used to handle by hand are now automated. Our customer relationships have gotten better and we're rescheduling more than 90% of first-time customers.
Cons
The service agreement pricing charges us $60 on the account even when we only have one or two customers paying $10. It would be helpful to have a lower-cost entry-level service agreement option.
