“Lets me book appointments, send client reminders, create invoices”
Pros
With just a few clicks, this platform lets me book appointments, send client reminders, create invoices and collect payments which makes the day-to-day work really convenient.
Cons
One area that could be better is the customization for forms and templates. There's already a decent variety to choose from but I'd still like to see more options to tailor them.

“Mobile scheduling game-changer”
Pros
Being able to keep up with and manage my schedule from anywhere using the mobile app has been a total game-changer. I really can't recommend it enough.
Cons
I'd still love to see more detailed reporting especially for appointment insights like how long each appointment lasts.

“Customizable scheduling setup”
Pros
The scheduling setup is highly customizable so we can organize jobs in a way that actually matches how our team works. Being able to attach details and files to each job is also really helpful since it gives more context from the time the job is sold all the way through completion.
Cons
The biggest gap for us is the lack of inventory management. We still have to rely on a separate app for that and there isn't an integration available with Housecall Pro.

“Address edits are a hassle”
Pros
The customer window auto-fills the address which is one of the few parts that actually helps speed things up.
Cons
Trying to edit a customer address or update estimates is frustrating in just about every way. There's also no proper ability to sign across platforms which creates extra hassle. On top of that, customer service doesn't feel accountable and it would work much better to have one or two consistent contacts for the same region or account instead of constantly dealing with different people who have no real ownership.

“Solid tools for closing out WOs”
Pros
It's been really helpful for assigning HVAC technicians to service calls based on priority. The software also includes strong tools that help us close out work orders on time.
Cons
The reporting, report generation and accounting sections could be improved but aside from that, the rest of the functions work well.

“Customer service fell apart”
Pros
It used to be decent, never amazing but it still offered some help for a small business.
Cons
At this point the customer service is the worst I've dealt with and the whole system has become a mess. After three years of trying, I finally gave up on getting it to sync with QuickBooks. Ever since they opened the new office in Colorado, things seem to have gone downhill. If you're already a customer, it's basically impossible to reach a real person yet somehow they're available when you're signing up.

“Excellent scheduling-to-closing visibility”
Pros
There's a steady flow of information all the way from scheduling the customer to closing out the job which keeps everything connected and up to date.

When my technicians try to attach pictures in the app, it works inconsistently and can be hit or miss.

“Works for businesses of all sizes”
Pros
Housecall Pro fits really well for service businesses of all sizes especially companies handling HVAC repairs and customer service work. It includes the essential tools needed to schedule jobs, assign work, dispatch technicians and keep customers informed, along with other useful features.
Cons
The accounting section has a bit of a learning curve and the initial data setup could definitely be made more simple.

“Creates accurate invoices”
Pros
Keeping everything organized with it has been a big help. It handles multiple appointments and calls well, creates invoices accurately and the billing and pricing support has been excellent. Customer support is another major plus because every question gets answered and there always seems to be someone available to help.
Cons
There really are no major downsides. Looking a little deeper, the only issue that caught my attention was a few mobile bugs. Aside from that, it offers a lot of useful features and remains simple enough for my staff to understand and use.

“well designed tool”
Pros
Getting started with it was quick and using it feels very simple. Most features can be handled right from a mobile phone which makes it really convenient. It's also highly customizable and the overall design feels polished and thoughtfully built.
Cons
A few of the more advanced functions still need to be handled on a desktop or regular computer and the scheduling view can become a bit cluttered and difficult to follow.

Pros
I appreciate that it's affordable. The interface is simple and easy to understand so getting around the system doesn't take much effort. It's also helpful that customer support is quick to respond by email.
Cons

“Too complex”
Pros
Customer support was pretty much the only positive thing I came across with Housecall Pro during the time I used it.
Cons
Honestly I barely got started before feeling turned off by it. The sales reps were extremely aggressive with calls, emails and spam before I had even purchased anything or tried the trial which was frustrating since I was already considering signing up on my own. My husband and I wanted one system to help organize the many moving parts of his construction business because there was too much for just the two of us to manage especially handling customer questions before they became jobs and then dealing with invoicing and payment afterward. On paper, this software seemed like it could solve those problems but it ended up being too complicated and far too pushy for both our existing customers and potential new ones. In the end, we decided to go in a different direction and stopped using it because it felt like too much and wasn't simple enough for someone new to combining several parts of a contracting business into one system.
